McMahon Camp Accuses Blumenthal Camp of Smear Tactics

The day after the Connecticut state Democratic Party accused Linda McMahon’s campaign of illegal coordination with the WWE, McMahon’s camp is accusing Richard Blumenthal’s campaign of illegal coordination with Planned Parenthood to gather “mysoginistic” photos of women and the WWE.

McMahon, the Republican former CEO of WWE, and Democrat Attorney General Blumenthal are in a fierce campaign for Chris Dodd’s Senate seat in the Nutmeg state.

The e-mail, Politico reports, has the subject line: "Worst of WWE + women photos.”

"Hey all — (Democratic consultant Andrew) Grossman is looking for mysoginistic photos of women and WWE. Planned Parenthood wants to hit LM hard on it," the Web site reports, citing an e-mail a press staffer sent to other aides to the campaign and the State Democratic Party. "What do we got?"

McMahon Narrows Gap on Blumenthal, Still has Uphill Climb

Wrestling promoter Linda McMahon has narrowed Attorney General Richard Blumenthal's lead in the Rasmussen poll.

A new poll of 750 likely voters that was released Friday shows Blumenthal leading his Republican rival in the U.S. Senate race 51 percent to 46 percent.

Another 1 percent said they would choose some other candidate, and 3 percent are undecided. McMahon would still come up short if she won over all these voters.

Based on the new poll's results, Rasmussen Reports reclassified the Senate race from solidly Democratic to leaning Democratic.

There was no shortage of ego on display when the sinister WWE Tag Team Champions battled The Ballin’ Superstar and The Masterpiece in non-title action.
