SmackDown Results: Mistaken Catastrophe

World Heavyweight Champion Kane failed to show up in order to team with Alberto Del Rio against Edge & Rey Mysterio. As a result, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long changed the main event into an impromptu Handicap Match.

While the match was in progress, Kane charged to the ring and attacked The Ultimate Opportunist. Edge quickly gained the advantage and took off, with “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” hot on his heels. Mysterio and Del Rio battled on. In the end, The Ultimate Underdog reigned supreme over Del Rio with an explosive 619-splash combination. Full results.

WWE Superstars Results: All About Eve

All of the Divas on the WWE roster are competitive, but few are as vicious as Alicia Fox. Athletic and tough with a mean streak a mile long, the Florida native has the ability and the will to tear her opponents apart and the gorgeous Eve was fully aware of this going into tonight’s bout. In fact, Eve had experienced this brutality before when Alicia won her Divas Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Match in June. But instead of being intimidated by The Foxy Floridian, Eve came prepared. After fighting through all of Alicia’s devastating strikes, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert found the opportunity to go for a huge moonsault and nailed the high-risk maneuver for the win. Rumor Mill - WWE Creative Shake-Ups May Affect SmackDown Head Writer

As reports of shake-ups within WWE creative continue to surface, pwtorch.com is reporting that SmackDown head writer Michael Hayes may be in danger of losing his job.

Chris DeJoseph, who was released from the SmackDown creative team recently, was said to be Hayes' right hand man, and since he left the brand, the Friday night show has been drawing very low ratings, and some of the worst since the show's move to Syfy.

Furthermore, it's being said that younger, non-main event talent always preferred working on Smackdown in the past as it allowed for more career growth. However, Michael Hayes has been booking the show to focus mainly around veteran talent as of late, with only a few exceptions being made for younger talent.
