After 14 years in operation, NWA Hollywood Wrestling, also known through the years as the North American Wrestling Alliance and World Wrestling Association (prior to NWA membership), closes. It had been run by Gene and Mike LeBell. NWA Hollywood Wrestling had a working relationship with both New Japan Pro Wrestling and the Japan Wrestling Association/All Japan Pro Wrestling, during which time the NWA United National Heavyweight Title (now part of the All Japan Triple Crown) was created.

Starrcade, nicknamed "True Gritt" is held at the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. This is the first Starrcade to not be held on Thanksgiving, as WWF had successfully bumped them out of the spot with the Survivor Series. Cable providers would not allow the companies to have head-to-head Pay-per-view events again (like in 1987), so the proven PPV commodity (WWF) won out, forcing the change.

Rumor Mill - Inside Word on WWE Releasing Kaval
WrestleZone has spoken to several close friends of Brandon Silvestry (Kaval/Low Ki) today, and the feelings are as polar opposite as anything we've seen.
"I think he's probably devastated," one wrestler who is friends with Kaval told us, "I haven't spoken to him yet, but I'm sure this caught him off guard, and to get fired just two days before Christmas really sucks!'
However, another wrestler who is known to be friends with Kaval/Low Ki had a totally different story. "Ki (as some friends call him) knew this was coming a few days ago. He didn't get fired today. He finished up like a pro the other night (at the Smackdown tapings), and it was kept under wraps until WWE.com reported it today."
A third friend said, "WWE wasn't for him."

WWE Superstars Results: Season's Beatings
It’s been a bad week to be Lay-Cool. After being smashed through a table by Natalya at WWE TLC, the egocentric Divas were still picking the splinters out of each others backsides when they had to step in the ring to take on Beth Phoenix & Kelly Kelly tonight. But despite feeling the effects of Sunday’s beating, Michelle McCool & Layla still brought the fight to their opponents, targeting Kelly with every vicious maneuver in their diamond-studded playbook. The flawless friends’ dominance came to an end, however, once The Glamazon was tagged in. Knocking Michelle to the outside, Beth nailed Layla with a thundering Glam Slam to pick up her second win over Lay-Cool this week. Full results.

Sean "X-Pac" Waltman To Host New Online Show
The following are some messages compiled from the official Twitter page of former WWE, WCW and TNA star Sean "X-Pac" Waltman:
It will be a call-in show with Skype capability, interviews with the biggest names in wrestling and other celebs. It's not a radio [show], it's a TV webcast. I will be covering everything about wrestling, as well as pop culture and current events. There will be clips with some Tosh.0 style shit. This isn't a video podcast. This will be live in a multi-million dollar studio. Very much like [Howard] Stern's show on E Entertainment Television."
