This Day in Wrestling History - HBK Loses His Smile

SmackDown Results: World (Title) Turned Up-Side-Down?

Prior to the main event, the self-appointed Special Guest Referee Vickie Guerrero reaffirmed that Edge’s Spear was still banned. If he opted to use it against Dolph Ziggler, he would be disqualified and the “acting” GM’s bleach-blond boyfriend would automatically become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

In the peak of the heated championship showdown, Vickie attempted to spear Edge herself, only to hurt her ankle. The Ultimate Opportunist seized the moment and hit the banned Spear on Ziggler two separate times. The Green Bay Packers' Clay Matthews then charged to the ring as a second Special Guest Referee, making the three-count to secure Edge’s victory. However, the outcome of SmackDown’s main event became unclear when the injured Guerrero waved-off The Rated-R Superstar win. Who is the rightful holder of the World Title? Full results.

Green Bay Packers Packers Star Clay Matthews Comments on Working Behind the Scenes with Triple H

On the role Triple H has taken backstage and if he gave Matthews some advice for his appearance on Smackdown:

"He was very involved. In fact, it was interesting to see how involved both Vince (McMahon) and Triple H are involved with this, in regards to what they want to see, the camera. So it was pretty interesting to see the other side of the industry....of the business. He's very involved. He told me what he'd like to see, what I should go out there and do, and how to play it up to the fans. Obviously, he's been doing it for years now and he had some good advice, so I took it to heart and hopefully I did a good job."

Matthews's interview was recorded on Friday afernoon and will air in its entirety on Monday, February 14 at 3:05 p.m. EST on Sirius 125, XM 241.

Rumor Mill - Triple H vs The Undertaker at WMXXVII

Wrestlezone.com is reporting that The Undertaker will face Triple H at WMXXVII. The match will be billed with the stipulation of “Streak vs Career”, playing off the career ending match at WrestleMania XXVI between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The feud and match between The Undertaker and Triple H is all but official and should be revealed on WWE programming soon.

Rumor Mill - Triple H Pushing For Major WWE Developmental Overhaul

In what may be the very first clue of post-Vince McMahon World Wrestling Entertainment, Triple H is pushing hard behind the scenes for what a key insider described to WrestleZone as "a major overhaul" to the developmental system.

"It's no secret within WWE that Triple H feels the developmental system is a joke," our inside source told us this evening, "and the Florida developmental area looks to be a runaway train."

Our source tells us that Triple H has pitched directly to Vince McMahon that Jim Ross be utilized in a recruiting capacity, while Triple H would oversee more of what Talent Relations Executive John Laurinaitis does on a daily basis in terms of checking up on the system.

There might be some truth to this. Here is an excerpt from J.R's. blog in September 2010:

JR on his conversation with Triple H this past weekend: "Had a great talk with HHH in Chicago who is also looking good but I do not know his future plans re: returning to the ring. The Game has a very bright, insightful mind for the business. I like his personal business philosophies on wrestling. HHH was interested in my upcoming trip to FCW this week as the future of WWE rests largely inside the four walls of the FCW Training facility."
