TNA iMPACT! Recap 03/17/11

WWE Superstars Results: Ladies' Night

It was a good night to be a fan of the Divas as eight of Raw’s sexiest women squared off in an epic tag match. Leading a contingent of Monday night’s most vicious females, Nikki & Brie Bella continued to display a mean streak that has shocked the WWE Universe. With help from Melina, the sisters focused their attack on Natalya, brutalizing the former Divas Champion to the point that she was ready to quit. But the Hart Dungeon-trained Diva persevered and made the tag to Eve who scored with a big moonsault to give her team the win. Full results.

WGN Cancels WWE Superstars

Officials from WGN America have revealed today that they have canceled WWE Superstars. The final episode will air on April 7, 2011.

Wade Barrett Comments on Triple H

Triple H told the WWE Universe a few weeks ago that he had nothing else to achieve in the WWE than ending The Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania. There are obviously a lot of new Superstars he has yet to beat. Did that annoy many of the ones listening?

WB: Yes I think so. I think a lot of people heard that and maybe were a bit disgruntled by it. Triple H certainly has beaten everybody there is to beat. He really is one of the best in history. But there really are a lot of young lions coming through at the moment. Triple H has certainly never beaten me. We’ve never been in the ring together. I would like to do battle with him one day. But obviously he has a lot on his plate with the Undertaker. So maybe we’ll wait until that is completed. But definitely somewhere down the line, I would love to take Triple H on.

Why Triple H Might Win Against The Undertaker -- But Why He Should Lose

Triple H, Stephanie, WWE, a Bus and a Lawsuit - Settled

A long running lawsuit between two Motor Coach companies that featured Triple H, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque and World Wrestling Entertainment named as third party defendants was settled out of court on 3/11. The plaintiff, Music City Coach, alleged in the January 2010 lawsuit that they were hired by defendant Star City Coach, LTD. to create a specified coach bus for the Levesque family, but there were issues with payments from Star's side with over $216,000 still owed to Music City. The total cost of the coach's modifications were $325,000, according to the suit.

How the Levesque family ended up involved in the middle of the legal wrangling is that Music City alleged that a Star City employee, Terry Sims (who had been assigned to drive the family's coach) made statements to the effect that he was working as the Levesques' "agent" while passing along orders of specifications for the coach bus by the family.

The lawsuit claimed that Sims "represented himself to Star City as an agent of the Levesques, who "never indicated he was not acting on their authority despite numerous meetings between Star City representatives and the Levesques."

The suit also claimed that the Levesques were acting "as agents" for World Wrestling Entertainment, which is how WWE was dragged into the legal process as well.

When payments were never made, the coach was seized by U.S. Marshalls and Star City claimed the Levesque family and WWE were liable for the balance owed at the time, $216,666.66.

The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning the sides cannot bring another actionable claim against the other. According to the ruling issued by the presiding Judge, "all matters have been resolved".

The terms of the settlement were sealed but based on the legal proceedings, it appears the settlement was between the two bus companies and not any of the third parties involved.

The Levesques and WWE were named as third party defendants; however, they were never served in this matter. They are not a party to the settle agreement. Obviously Music City Coach and Star City Coach were trying to go after the deep pockets.

Update on Jeff Hardy's Drug Case

The drug case against Jeff Hardy, the professional wrestling star from Cameron, was continued again today in Moore County Superior Court. Assistant District Attorney Warren McSweeney, who is in charge of the case, said he planned to ask Judge James Webb to continue to the case.

Prosecutors are still awaiting the results of lab tests from the State Bureau of Investigation on some of the evidence that lawmen seized Sept. 11, 2009, when they raided Hardy's house on Boys Camp Road outside of Cameron, McSweeney said.

Hardy's lawyer, James Van Camp, has said the 33-year-old plans to plead guilty. Prosecutors have said they were continuing to work out the terms of a plea deal.

Sheriff's deputies found about 260 Vicodin prescription painkillers, 180 Soma prescription muscle relaxants, 55 milliliters of anabolic steroids, powder cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia when they searched Hardy's home.

Steven Godfrey, a spokesman for Hardy's wrestling company - Total Nonstop Action Wrestling - has declined to comment on how the company is dealing with its star's legal trouble. He said TNA has a drug testing policy, though officials don't release details.
