WWE Relaunches WCW Website
On March 26, 2001, one of the most important and shocking moments in sports-entertainment history occurred. Amid rumors and speculation, it was finally confirmed that WWE had acquired longtime rival World Championship Wrestling (WCW). The bitter television struggle known as “The Monday Night War” officially came to an end.
On this historic evening, WCW Monday Nitro and WWE Monday Night Raw were simulcast as Mr. McMahon prepared to reveal his plans for the company that once belonged to Ted Turner. The final broadcast also treated WCW fans to one final night celebrating the competitiveness and history of WCW, rather than the disarray of the company’s final days.
Now, 10 years later, join WWE.com as we revive WCW.com to learn about, celebrate and remember the history and the competitors of the once mighty organization known as World Championship Wrestling.

Fit Finlay Released
WWE released producer/agent Dave "Fit" Finlay yesterday.
Finlay was said to have gained heat and criticism for booking The Miz to interrupt the national anthem at a recent house show in which a number of National Guard representatives were in attendance. The National Guard is a WWE sponsor. Word got back to WWE management that the reps were not impressed and they decided to release him.
Finaly has been with WWE since 2001 as a trainer and returned to the ring between 2006-2011.

The New WWE - Moving Beyond Their Wrestling Heritage
From WWE's Annual Report:
The New WWE
Looking ahead, we believe we can perform better by reshaping our mission to cultivate a broader range of opportunities. This means investing in the development of our talent, producing new program content, and leveraging our strengths to offer new products and services. The launch of a WWE network is an example of one transformative change in our sights. Further exemplifying this paradigm shift, we are changing our branding from World Wrestling Entertainment to “WWE,” moving beyond our wrestling heritage. We believe “The New WWE” will ultimately generate meaningful earnings growth and support greater returns to you, our shareholders.
