Rumor Mill - Possible Tag Partner for Sin Cara

As seen on Friday's SmackDown, Epico has joined Hunico to feud against Sin Cara. Word is that Averno may finally be signed by WWE to team with Cara against the former FCW Tag Team Champions.

Sin Cara requested that Averno be signed by WWE earlier this year to work with. Reports out of Mexico this year have went back and forth on whether or not Averno was coming in. After the recent WWE tour of Mexico where Averno took part in tryouts, it's said he's now waiting on the call to join WWE's blue brand for the tag team feud.

Update on Sean Waltman's WWE TV Future

With Kevin Nash back on WWE TV, Sean Waltman says he would like to return, too, but WWE management (specifically Vince McMahon) isn't ready to put him back on TV due to Waltman's past health issues similar to Scott Hall's. "I would love to one day return home to WWE. I still need more time doing well. Not long ago I attempted suicide. I understand Vince's fear. You can thank WWE's Wellness Policy for me being here tweeting with you. They spent almost as much on me as they have on Scott," Waltman tweeted Monday night.

TNA Signs Developmental Deal with Ohio Valley Wrestling

In a statement released to PWInsider, TNA announced OVW would now be a "development and training facility" for the promotion, with Bruce Prichard working closely with OVW owner Danny Davis in the development of future TNA talents.

While TNA has never had an official developmental territory, they had in the past subsidized some wrestlers' training at the Team 3D Wrestling Academy in Florida, including former CBS reality star Jesse Godderz.

Based on the statement issued to PWInsider, TNA would be sending talent to OVW to train and hone their skills.

The company's new project in India for the Colors Network was slated to include training ten new Indian talents that would be regulars for the new TV series being developed for that market, so I would assume this is where they will be trained. That project is slated to begin taking in just a few months in India.

OVW was the official developmental territory for WWE from 2000 through 2008, helping to develop, among others, John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar and Batista.

Chris Jericho Comments on his Wrestling Peers that have Passed Away

Would you mind if we asked you a really personal question? What’s it like to have worked in a profession where so many of your peers have died long before their time?

It sucks. I was watching Raw earlier, and Hunter (HHH) was talking about how lucky he was to have all these friends in the business and he gave a list, and I thought, fuck, my friends died. It’s not happened in recent times, thank God, but there was a period not so long ago where guys were going down one after the other. It is a very tough business, and I feel so lucky that I never got into the drugs and pills. I was always a drinker – I still am to this day, and I can probably drink more than most, but if I want to go a week or two between having those drinks, I can. I don’t know, man. Maybe because of the music side of my life, and because I didn’t have all my eggs in one basket, wrestling wasn’t the be all and end all.

Update on Barry Windham, WWE Helping with Medical Costs

Blackjack Mulligan (aka Bob Windham) spoke with Mike Mooneyham of the Charleston Post and Courier regarding his son Barry Windham's medical issues. "We couldn’t tell what the problem was for a long time," Mulligan said. "He did have a heart attack. The heart procedure went all right.

"The doctor said there was minimal damage and that he had a big, strong heart, and that he was going to be OK. We just don’t know about the stroke damage. He obviously had some kind of seizure, some type of stroke, because he doesn’t have full control... It’s going to be a long deal,” said Mulligan. “It was a very close call ... we almost lost him."

Mulligan, though, remains optimistic about the prognosis. He’s also grateful for the help being offered by WWE. Windham worked as an agent and producer for the company until his contract expired in late 2008.

“Triple H approved the whole funding,” said Mulligan, referring to WWE star and executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque, with whom Windham has been longtime friends.

Windham, says his father, has been moved to a top-flight rehab center.

“A big, black Cadillac limo pulled up to the hospital. A chauffeur got out, and two doctors put him (Windham) in the back of an ambulance and whisked him off. He’s at a place where they’re taking care of all of his problems. He’s being ministered to physically and spiritually.”

The problems are many, and Windham faces a long, uphill battle.

“He needed to go somewhere they teach you to walk, talk and eat again. I had to send him to a regular nursing home, which didn’t handle all his problems. But this place does.”...More?
