Former WWE Diva Admits She Had A Drinking Problem

Former WWE Diva Serena Deeb has opened up about her drinking problem. She wrote the following on Twitter:

"Today I am incredibly proud, as it marks one full year I have gone without drinking alcohol. A year ago I looked myself in the mirror & reevaluated my priorities. I decided to make serious changes. I have always wanted to be a role model & help others around me because I believe that makes the world a better place. I hope this message can inspire & encourage whoever reads it. Oftentimes when people approach change, it can be overwhelming. One week is hard, one year is even harder and ‘forever’ almost sounds impossible. From my personal account, I think it’s helpful to take things one day at a time & to constantly remind yourself of the bigger picture. We all have changes that we want to implement. A new year approaching is the perfect opportunity. Don’t limit yourself & the potential that you have to live a better life. Change is never easy BUT with a challenge, you build a stronger character. Self confidence & a strong will are very empowering. Take small steps & don’t look back- “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Serena was released from WWE in August 2010 because of drunk behavior in front of fans on the road. She established a lot of respect amongst many for be willing to shave her head in the Straight Edge Society gimmick with CM Punk.

Ric Flair on Whether he Plans to Retire Soon, the Similarities Between his Character and his True Personality

TNA legend Ric Flair was asked in an interview with The Skinny website whether he has any retirement plans. "To be honest I have no plans on retiring from the industry anytime soon," Flair said. "I feel that I still have so much to give to TNA. If the time ever comes that I cannot contribute anything to the company that is when I would have to consider my position within TNA. I am privileged that I have a limited schedule in TNA so my time in many respects is my own. Just now I like to spend time with my family and love to do some fishing. When I retire I’ll be doing more of the same."

Flair also spoke about how his true personality and the character are the same. "What people see on TV or at shows is the real me," he said. "I think that’s why fans have loved me so much over the years because I am not playing a character. I am going out there and simply being me. I once described myself as a ‘stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun’. That pretty much defines who I am.

"There will never be another Ric Flair. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of guys at TNA are doing their own thing, creating their own characters and are doing really well. I am different for a number of reasons. It's my longevity and ability to stay healthy that make me special. I am the only one who has literally wrestled everyone there is to wrestle over a four decade career." To read the full story, visit TheSkinny.co.uk.

WWE Officials On “Warpath” Against Parody & Fraudulent Twitter Accounts

PWInsider.com reports WWE has gone “on the warpath” against accounts on Twitter which impersonate and parody their company and employees, according to number of sources within the company.

Since WWE promotes Twitter so much, they don’t want there to be any confusion with their intellectual property. They also do not want fans to be tricked by any fraudulent accounts purported to be endorsed by WWE or a company employee. Furthermore, WWE is generating revenue through their partnership with Twitter, which they do no want compromised.

Many of these accounts have been suspended within the past few days. Two popular accounts, however, remain active: twitter.com/DumbKellyKelly and twitter.com/crankyvince. The account parodying Vince McMahon has caused great concern for company officials.

Spike President Talks TNA Working Relationship, Future MMA Cross-Over

Spike TV president Kevin Kay talked to Sherdog Radio about the current working relationship with TNA and how it relates to Spike bringing Bellator on-board to replace UFC in the MMA genre. "We worked really hard with TNA to help make choices about their roster and improve their production and improve their storytelling, and, for us, as marketers, to promote it in different ways. We recently changed the name from TNA to Impact Wrestling. There’s lots of thinking and thoughtfulness that went into this process that I think has helped them, and I think they would tell you the same thing. If we do our job right and they do their job right and we protect it and build it, we will be successful. And I feel like we’re doing exactly the same kind of strategy with Bellator, which is [Spike] working very closely with the organization," Kay said.

Kay added that there will be more cross-promotion between TNA and Bellator as opposed to TNA and UFC. "I think, generally, their feeling was it was a little confusing to the fans, and it’s not necessarily the same audience," Kay said about UFC's view. "We believe a little differently, and TNA has always believed a little differently, so you’re going to see lots more of those opportunities. I do believe there’s crossover. Maybe it’s a little behind closed doors, but I think lots of wrestling fans are mixed martial arts fans and lots of mixed martial arts fans are wrestling fans. And those are two big platforms we have that we believe can help promote each other, so you’ll see that."
