Update on Chris Hero Joining WWE

Regarding Chris Hero being signed by WWE, officials wanted to sign him a few months back when they signed his partner Claudio Castagnoli to FCW. Hero was going through the physical screening process. It’s believed that either WWE found something they wanted to take their time on double checking to make sure he’s fit to sign, or they stalled in contract negotiations. Hero hasn’t gone back to work for NOAH or ROH yet so it’s still possible he will pop up in FCW soon.

1980′s Wrestler Suing WWE & The McMahons, Says They Owe Him Royalties

80′s wrestler “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers has filed suit against WWE and the McMahons over claims that he is owed royalties for WWE using his name and likeness. Somers’ suit names WWE’s DVD on Shawn Michaels’ career and the Greatest Cage Matches of All-Time DVD.

Somers says that WWE failed to contact him and ask permission to use his name and likeness, and never made any attempt to compensate him. The lawsuit also states that Somers’ health is suffering from his pro wrestling career where he claims to have suffered more than 400 concussions, broken bones and inoperable injuries to his neck, foot, back and knee.

Abdullah the Butcher Lawsuit Update

The Devon Nicholson lawsuit against Abdullah the Butcher was covered on the front page of Primera Hora, a largely circulated newspaper in Puerto Rico today.

After recounting the lawsuit, Abdullah the Butcher commented on the revelation that Nicholson's lawyers dropped about Butcher being positive for Hepatitis C, commenting, ""The only thing I will say is that when we meet again in court, to be in a month and a half or so is going to take a big surprise. Soon we will know the whole truth."

Abdullah also commented that he's been in the business for 50 years and this was the first time he'd ever been accused of such a thing.

Carlos Colon, one of Butcher's most famous rivals, decried Nicholson in the same article, commenting, "It took me by surprise all this, because Abdullah spent years coming to Puerto Rico and have never had any problems. When I originally learned of the lawsuit, I talked to him and said he was not sick. It seems to me that this boy (Nicholson) he wants to take money from Abdullah."

Nicholson declined to comment for the piece, noting he was told by his lawyers not to make any public statements regarding Abdullah.
