Video: Triple H Returns to Raw and Addresses Kevin Nash
This Day in Wrestling History
Ed "Strangler" Lewis wins the world heavyweight title from Joe Stecher in New York City. Lewis is managed by Billy Sandow. According to Lou Thesz in his biography, Hooker, this was a legitimate contest and was likely the last major world title shooting match in history, though wrestling historians now dispute the claim. Whether a legitimate contest or not, an era of wrestling came to an end and a new one dawned.

Kane Returns
Entering through hellfire and brimstone, The Big Red Monster made a shocking return under a mask and attacked Cena, driving him into the mat with a devastating chokeslam. The demon’s motives were unclear, but one thing was sure — hell has come home.

Triple H Celebrates Metallica
Triple H, who used Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" at Wrestlemania 27, cut a promo via video at Metallica's 30th Anniversary show Saturday night at the Fillmore in San Francisco.
Triple H was in full on "HHH mode", thanking Metallica for providing the soundtrack of his own 30 year career. The video was played on the bigscreen while the crew was clearing the stage after the opening band Death Angel performed.
The promo was well received by the crowd, and even got a few "Triple H" chants. He actually got a bigger pop than just about anybody in the promo montage, aside from Jimmy Page and Lemmy of Motorhead.

Verizon Fios to Drop Sinclair Stations Carrying ROH
Ring of Honor issued the following message on Facebook today:
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FANS WITH VERIZON FiOS
If you are a Verizon FIOS subscriber who loves Ring of Honor, you need to take action NOW to make sure you will be able to continue to watch all of ROH's great wrestling action.
We believe that FIOS will stop carrying television stations carrying Ring of Honor after December 31st. Although we have tried very hard to get a deal done with Verizon, Verizon is refusing to pay what we believe is a fair rate for the right to carry our stations. Verizon FIOS apparently thinks that its subscribers won't care if they no longer carry our great programming - apparently they aren't wrestling fans! - and perhaps the only thing that will change their mind is hearing from their customers.
We know you are a wrestling fan and if you are also a FIOS subscriber we strongly encourage you to call them at 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) to let them know you will cancel your subscription if they stop carrying our stations and Ring of Honor.
We also ask that you contact as many of your family and friends as possible and ask them to contact Verizon as well. By doing this you may influence Verizon to act more reasonably and continue to carry ROH plus all of our other great programming that we are sure you enjoy watching.
Thank you for your help.
