A temporary injunction hearing has been set for July 12, 2012 at 9:30 AM after today’s status conference in Davidson County Chancery Court in regards to TNA’s contract tampering lawsuit filed against WWE and former office employee Brian Wittenstein.
Until then, WWE and Wittenstein must continue to comply with the temporary restraining order issued on May 24th that they will not destroy the confidential information TNA is claiming was obtained.

Vince McMahon Returning to Raw
WWE has announced via their text message service that Vince McMahon will return to Raw on June 11 for the three-hour Raw. Vince will evaluate the performance of John Laurinaitis.
Complaint Filed Against WWE for Threat of Lawsuit
The Journal Inquirer in Connecticut filed an official complaint against WWE with the Federal Election Commission, claiming that WWE violated federal election law by helping Linda McMahon's campaign via their threat to sue the newspaper and writer Chris Powell, who have criticized McMahon's bid to become Senator.
As we noted last week, Powell noted McMahon made her money on a business based on "violence and pornography." WWE was not specifically named in the article.
The newspaper is claiming that through WWE, McMahon's campaign is "meant to discourage our right to criticize McMahon" and has a "chilling effect" on local journalists covering the political scene in Connecticut...More?
Rumor Mill - WWE to Reveal New WWE Title Belt?
During a Q&A session Saturday at the Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia, WWE champion C.M. Punk said WWE is planning to reveal a new WWE Title belt to replace the spinner belt. However, Punk says he doesn't think it is an improvement over the current belt.
"I email people that you people don't know exist and I bother them constantly about this damn thing. There is a new title. I've seen it. I'll probably get in trouble for saying it, but I don't think it's any better than the current one." Punk re-assessed and said, "It's better than this. They literally just made it. It's about 20 pounds heavier than this one. I keep preaching that I want to be the guy - if I'm not the guy who doesn't produce a new title, then I'll be a liar, and I don't want to be a liar. It's out there, and it's coming soon. Probably a lot sooner than the ice cream bars.

This Day in Wrestling History
Kerry Von Erich is involved in a motorcycle accident in Argyle, Texas, crashing into the back of a police car while trying to pass a truck on a two-lane highway while wearing shorts and no shoes. Von Erich suffers a dislocated hip and a severely damaged right foot and undergoes over 13 hours of surgery. Von Erich would later have the foot amputated, but returned to the ring with a prosthetic foot and continued his career. To this day, there is no definitive answer as to whether Von Erich lost the foot at the time of the initial surgery, or had it amputated later (with some even saying it was removed after a failed early comeback attempt did further damage to it). Von Erich and his family would claim he had his ankle fused to account for the lack of mobility in the foot, and it was not until after his death that his family would admit that he was wrestling without a foot (although in one Las Vegas match, his boot was pulled off accidentally, and several fans saw that he had no foot).

News Flash - Don't Believe Everything You Read On The Internet

The worldwide web is a funny thing. At times, it can be a reliable source of information. 99% of the people reading this column have used Google and/or Wikipedia at lest once to assist them with their school work or find out the "truth" about something they heard about on the radio, on TV, whatever. Whether Wikipedia is a reliable source of information tends to be ignored - people have been using the online encyclopaedia for years and will continue to do so. For many, the internet is a very helpful tool.
However, the issue at hand is that websites like Wikipedia are NOT 100% trust-worthy. Since the website allows any one capable of pressing the 'edit' button to post information about anything and everything, you probably should double-check your findings with other sources of information. As in, quotes, proven statistics, or printed material. Those are all reliable, hard-to-debate sources.
Unfortunately, the majority of dirt sheets (including wrestling ones, believe it or not) are NOT reliable sources of information - hence the name 'dirt sheets'. How many times have you logged on to LOP and saw a headline that read, "Backstage talk on CM Punk" (just an example). Chances are, the article probably was a summation of random people who viewed punk in a negative light. Now, there's a good chance that article didn't contain any quotes. Furthermore, I doubt any names were dropped. This leads me to conclude that Camera Man X and Mid-Carder Y share a mutual feeling that Punk is not liked backstage, and somehow word got out on the internet.
Folks, I love being a card-carrying member of the Internet Wrestling Community, but I don't believe most of what I read on the internet and neither should you. While many people complain that websites like LOP get most of their "news" by following every superstar, diva, and company employee on Twitter, I'm okay with it. I would much rather learn about RAW going three hours permanently starting July 23 because John Cena posted the news on Twitter than read an article titled, "RAW Possibly Becoming A Three-Hour Show?" You can call it 'lazy reporting', but at least I'm getting hit with facts, not gossip.
At the same time, opinions should never be mistaken for facts. Today, former WWE Creative Team member Seth Mates wrote on Twitter that Triple H did indeed bury wrestlers throughout his career and Mates shared his theory with his followers. Now, the whole 'Triple H holding back other guys' debate is a complicated one that I won't get into today, but as someone else noted, the headline was poorly worded. The article was titled, "Former WWE Creative Writer Explains Why Triple H Buries Top-Level Wrestlers". Right off the bat, that's an unfair title. For years, people have speculated on the issue, but there has never been any proof. A former WWE employee is not means of proof. Seth Mates gave his opinion, he didn't tweet about receiving text messages from Vince McMahon telling him to bury in the storylines, or book poorly. Mates gave his two cents, and many websites are falsely reporting it as news.

After two years as a "PPV Only" company, the very first episode of TNA Impact airs on Fox Sports Net. The show, taped in Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, would later move from it's Friday afternoon slot on FSN to a late night Saturday slot on SpikeTV, before becoming a late night Thursday show for Spike, then finally becoming a primetime show on Thursdays. The show would also see the debut of the six-sided ring in TNA, which was previously a staple of the AAA promotion in Mexico.

DX Reuniting for 1000th RAW
WWE is now advertising another DX reunion with Shawn Michaels and Triple H for the 1,000th RAW episode on July 22nd from St. Louis, Missouri
Bill DeMott Confirms FCW Head Trainer Role
"Tough Enough" trainer Bill DeMott has confirmed he is the new head trainer for WWE's FCW Developmental system. "So here It is #demottcracy Yes! I am heading up the training in WWE DEV System . Fun and challenges ahead with the best talent up &coming;! Thank you all for the well wishes!" DeMott tweeted Friday.
DeMott was head trainer at the former Deep South WWE developmental territory in the mid-2000s, and developed a poor reputation among wrestlers. He was released from WWE in 2007 before returning for Tough Enough last year.
