WWE Superstar John Cena Honored by MAKE-A-WISH with First-Ever 300th Wish Award
WWE announced today that WWE Superstar, John Cena, was honored by Make-A-Wish last week at their “Evening of Excellence Awards Ceremony” for being the only celebrity to reach the record-breaking milestone of fulfilling 300 wishes.
Cena became the first recipient of the 300th Wish Award at the annual Make-A-Wish awards ceremony in Glendale, AZ. His award was presented by wish mom Judith Harrison, whose late son Justin was the second wish child Cena ever met, before an audience of hundreds of Make-A Wish national and chapter staff, volunteer leaders, and wish families.
“WWE Superstar John Cena is a champion in the ring and a champion for Make-A-Wish and wish kids across the world,” said David A. Williams, president and chief executive officer of Make-A-Wish America. “Even in the face of a hectic travel schedule, the physical demands of his job and countless requests for his time, John’s commitment to creating life-changing wish experiences for each and every wish kid requesting to meet him has never wavered. He is an amazing wish granter and a great friend of Make-A-Wish.”
“I can think of no greater honor than someone who can have any wish they want in the world, yet they choose to spend their time with me,” said Cena. “I will continue to grant wishes as long as there are children who request me. I am proud to be a part of WWE’s long standing alliance with Make-A-Wish.”
Cena set a Make-A-Wish record this June by granting his 300th wish to Jonathan Littman, 7, an honor that was also celebrated on ABC’s Good Morning America. Cena has been personally granting wishes for more than eight years, and during the course of WWE’s 25-year alliance with Make-A-Wish, the company and its Superstars have granted more than 4,000 wishes.

New webisodes launch on butimchrisjericho.com and Shaw Media's Action YouTube Channel, every Tuesday, starting October 29
Bonus webisodes, behind the scenes footage and #BICJ Game available on butimchrisjericho.com
For Immediate Release
TORONTO, October 22, 2013 – He was the wrestling champion of the world, until he lost it all. Now he's starting over and is going to be the greatest actor of all time. Insight Productions, in association with Shaw Media, announce But I'm Chris Jericho!, a scripted comedy web series built around WWE superstar and multi-faceted performer Chris Jericho. Featuring 10 webisodes, the series premieres Tuesday, October 29, simultaneously on butimchrisjericho.com and Action's YouTube Channel: youtube.com/actiontv.
The series stars Chris Jericho as a fictionalized version of himself. In this tongue-in-cheek portrayal of his life, Chris is a former wrestler struggling to make it big as an actor. Despite being on top in the wrestling ring, Chris now clings to the bottom of the acting rung, and must try to contain his frustrations in the face of absurdities in the entertainment industry, as well as the ineptitude of well-intentioned supporters. Also featured in the web series is Andy Kindler (Bob's Burgers, Last Comic Standing) as Chris's bumbling agent, Phil Blank and Canadian comedy legend Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall) as Chris's over-the-top acting teacher, A.J. Mirkin.

Football alum chases WWE dream
MNDaily.com has a new interview up with former University of Minnesota linebacker Mike Rallis about his attempts to secure a WWE developmental contract. Rallis mentions that he reached out to WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross about getting on a 26-day training program to prepare to a tryout he went to in Orlando last month. Rallis also mentions he is going to a second WWE tryout in December.
"This year, I got to strap on an NFL helmet," he said. "I also got to step into a WWE wrestling ring, and I don't think a lot of people can say that — especially not in the same year."

Billy Gunn In Corporation Angle
NXT trainer Billy Gunn is now involved in the corporation angle that has expanded to developmental. Gunn worked as a special guest referee at an NXT live event last week in Daytona where he turned on Sami Zayn and allowed Bo Dallas to retain the NXT title. The storyline was that Triple H sent Gunn to make sure Dallas retained because it was best for business. The new NXT GM, JBL, agreed on Twitter.

Alex Shelley Talks About Career in NJPW, Thoughts of Retirement
Former TNA Impact Wrestling star Alex Shelley Tweeted the following about the injuries he's suffered in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as his future in the business:
"September 2012, my first @njpw1972 tour. 4 broken front teeth via rabbit clothesline from Rocky Romero. I could hear my teeth "Ping!" when they hit the guard rail and spit chunks out as I finished the match. Later, I could smell the burning and taste the dust when they ground down the shards to bond them when I went back to Detroit after the tour.
April 2013, partially paralyzed vocal cord via Prince Devitt lariat. Had to change some of the songs at band practice and now I sound like a full time smoker. Not counting the damage from the brutal dropkicks to the face.
June 2013, slightly fractured skull via Plancha from Taka Michinoku. Spinal fluid actually leaked out my nose for a week after and I had I idea of the severity until I went to the doctor weeks later. Wrestled again that night against Devitt in a dream come true.
Finally, September 2013, severe sciatica via Liger Bomb from @taichi0319. Bad enough injury that I had to let a bunch of people down and forego my chance to become a 3 time IWGP Jr. Tag Champion. Had a hard time walking, couldn't workout, and totally rethought my life.
I don't consider myself tough, persay. I just really love wrestling. And @njpw1972 is wrestling. I was "orphaned", by my choice, and NJPW gave me a home. So while I waited in the doc's office, I really thought that 2012-2013 was my favorite year of my career. I grew the most as a wrestler, I (hopefully) won over @njpw1972 fans and proved to everyone I could adapt and learn and go in the ring. This was the first time I thought "Maybe I need to get out." So, understandably, I was pretty scared when I went in again last week. But nope. I am supposed to continue wrestling, I think. Cleared to lift weights, burnout on cardio, and should make a full recovery. :)"
