The former IC champion was wrestling WWE Champion Triple H in the main event of Friday's SmackDown. During the match, the Samoan Bulldozer went down and the referee did the “x” hand signal that means an injury has occured. That's Why They Call Him the Cerebral Assassin
Nick Paglino of wrestlezone.com reviews Triple H's promo last night:
"Despite a lot of criticism I have been reading of this angle within the internet wrestling community, I thought both Triple H and Randy Orton's performances in this segment were fantastic. I will admit I don't like the "pressing charges" angle as it is both overdone and doesn't make much sense in the world of pro wrestling, however I thought the meat of this segment was pulled off quite well. Triple H's performance was great here and very true to his character as he showed why he is called the Cerebral Assassin. He wants to fight Orton. But he knows Orton is too afraid of him, so he has to psyche Orton out to get him to challenge him at Wrestlemania and that's exactly what Trips did. He played on Orton's insecurities to get what he wanted, which ultimately was a match him at Mania. I've read complaints that Triple H shouldn't have said "I'm not a good person" as he is playing the face in the angle. Are we supposed to believe that people have forgotten that Triple H was once the top heel in the business? Are we also supposed to believe that since HHH is a face now that his character should be indicative of someone who should be nominated for Sainthood? This is a guy that walks to the ring with a sledgehammer, and more importantly has created a character that doesn't deny the past simply because he's now playing a "good guy."
JR Speaks on Triple H & Randy Orton
"The HHH-Orton segment was money. Plain and simple...this piece of business sold PPV’s. Personal issues have always been the foundation of wrestling and this matter is the most personal issue in WWE in years. The challenge will be to build from Monday night but that is certainly doable. This issue also helps HHH’s Friday Night Smackdown broadcast of which I have a vested interest."
