SmackDown Results: Sore Loser
Just days after defeating CM Punk to win the World Title, Jeff Hardy put his gold on the line against fiery young Superstar John Morrison. In his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship match, Morrison put Hardy to the test in an epic back-and-forth battle for gold. But the high-flyer prevailed, crushing The Friday Night Delight with a Twist of Fate followed up with a Swanton Bomb.
As Hardy basked in the glow of his first successful title defense, CM Punk came to the ring to apparently congratulate Hardy by raising his arm in victory. But then, in an ugly display of poor sportsmanship, The Straightedge Superstar viciously assaulted Hardy amidst a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. The crazed ex-champion reigned down blow upon blow on Hardy, leaving him battered and beaten on the arena floor. Then, just when it appeared Punk was done, he attacked Hardy again, tossing his helpless body across the announce table and onto the arena floor. Full results.

TNA Releases Longtime Creative Team Member and Road Agent
It has been confirmed that TNA Wrestling cut tenured creative team member Dutch Mantel and road agent Savio Vega this past week.
The releases are said to be no coincidence as Mantel and Vega were both considered allies of Jeff Jarrett. While nothing official has been announced regarding Jarrett's role with TNA, many feel he would be stripped of all power if he were brought back.

WWE Superstars Results: Here Come the Voices
Only four days after pinning John Cena to retain his title and three days after finding out he’ll have to defend it against the former champion again at SummerSlam, The Legend Killer debuted on “WWE Superstars” and made an example of Primo. As he said prior to the match, Orton intended on dissecting the second-generation Superstar in the ring and did just that, leaving Cena with much to think about. It wasn’t a one-sided match by any means as Primo surprised The Viper with his quick offense, but once Orton had his sights set on the athletic, young Superstar, it was only a matter of time before he hit the RKO. Once The Legend Killer struck, he hooked Primo’s leg for the 1-2-3 and headed to the locker room knowing that if Cena was watching, then his message was delivered loud and clear. Full results.

The Way it Was in Ottawa: A Celebration of the Old Ottawa Auditorium
The news that the WWE is setting up its ring at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa on September 12 for a gala show featuring stars from Raw, Smackdown and ECW may seem like a big deal to present day wrestling fans but top wrestling shows were the norm in the nation’s capital over a half century ago when the biggest names in the business showed their wares at the old Ottawa Auditorium...More?

J.R. Comments on the Upcoming DX Book
"Speaking of books, I did some writing work on an upcoming book about DX that really brought back some memories from years gone by and not all of them were pleasant ones. I am under the impression that this book will be released this fall but I could be wrong on that. DX were heat seeking missiles back in the day and rubbed many folks the wrong way. They were at the forefront of the 'Attitude Era' in WWE and it will likely never be duplicated. Some of the behind the scenes stories regarding the fall out over many of the actions and antics of the DX faction should make for an provocative and fun read."

Interview with Sharmell Huffman
During and interview with Monday Night Mayhem Radio, Sharmell comments on the criticism of her Victory Road match with Jenna Morasca:
"Actually that's my first time hearing it, because I hadn't heard any critique on that. We've been working every since Victory Road, so I hadn't heard any of the feedback of that, but if they think it was the 'worst match,' that's great. All publicity is good publicity, so at least they are still talking about me. Even though I didn't get the pin, I was obviously the most-experienced, the one who was able to handle herself the best in the ring, and got the better of Jenna throughout the match. So let them keep talking...any news is good news."
