Shane Helms Cited in "Bar Brawl" on Sunday

From WTSB Radio:

Pro Wrestler Charged In Bar Brawl

A professional wrestler has been cited by Smithfield Police for allegedly engaging in a fight at a local bar. Gregory Shane Helms, 36, of Smithfield, who is known by WWE fans at "The Hurricane", and Kevin Wayne Creech, 38, of Four Oaks were both cited for simple affray following an altercation around 10pm Sunday at a bar called The Rehab, located at 526 South Brightleaf Boulevard, according to police reports.

Police Lt. Keith Powell said Creech reportedly touched Helms' girlfriend, which led to the confrontation. Lt. Powell said the touch was "not inappropriate" but it reportedly did lead to an argument then a brief struggle between the two men. Both men were released at the scene but were ordered to appear in court on April 28 to answer to the charges.

In May 2008, Helms was charged with assault following an alleged incident at another Smithfield club. Those charges were dismissed in July 2008.

Rumor Mill - Jeff Hardy Sent Home From TNA Impact Tapings

PWInsider.com is reporting that TNA star Jeff Hardy has been sent home from today's TNA Impact taping. Hardy is still being advertised, however, on the company website to appear on this week's show, so the decision could always be changed as the taping does not begin until later tonight.

Regulating Wrestling

Wrestling might not be a sport, but it certainly involves plenty of physical risk, so why isn't treated like a sport in the state? That's the question some are asking lawmakers.

This is all coming about because the state is working to regulate mixed martial arts competitions. And State Senator Eileen Daily, D-Westbrook, told the CT Post that some think wrestling should be included in the debate....More?

Rumor Mill - TNA Locker "In An Uproar" Over Jeff Hardy Situation

WrestleZone.com has spoken with several key insiders and several wrestlers in TNA, and the consensus opinion is that something has to be done regarding tonight's Victory Road pay per view debacle.

"This is the type of controversy that kills a promotion," one very concerned wrestler told us tonight, "what happens when Spike TV executives Doug Herzog, Kevin Kay and Brian Diamond watch this, and try to justify this to sponsors and advertisers? It's embarrassing, and it's terrible for the company to go off the air with the fans chanting BULLSHIT when the company knew they had a major problem to deal with."

"Why wasn't he replaced?" asked another wrestler, "why couldn't we have just handled it professionally, instead of risking everyone's well being, including Sting's and the fans, by putting someone who was not fit to wrestle out in the ring?" Even a key insider who is usually a Hardy defender told us "Jeff should not have been cleared to wrestle in that main event tonight."

While no one would pinpoint exactly what Hardy's problem was, it is clear TNA President Dixie Carter has a dressing room filled with concerned and angry talent at the moment. While Ric Flair's presence is "amusing" (as one wrestler put it), the precedent is being set for wrestlers to act in any way they want, and there is a sense of anarchy in the TNA dressing room right now.

"Bischoff doesn't have any authority. The agents don't lay down the law," one very prominent TNA wrestler told us, "no one learned from WCW what happens when the inmates take over the asylum!"

Rumor Mill - The Reason Sting vs. Jeff Hardy Main Event Was Cut Short

PWInsider.com is reporting that Jeff Hardy's condition prior to tonight’s TNA Victory Road main event was the reason the main event lasted a shocking 1 minute and 28 seconds. Speculation is Sting wouldn't wrestle a long match with Hardy in his condition and was extremely pissed off following the PPV.

What Happened after Victory Road Went Off the Air; Issues with Jeff Hardy?

Not a whole lot to mention after one of the shortest TNA PPV main events in company history, (approximately 1 minute and 28 seconds). The fans chanted "bullsh*t" as security helped Jeff Hardy to the back according to pwinsider.com.

Fan Report & Photos From Triple H's Appearance in Norwalk, CT

I just got back from the Triple H DVD signing for The Chaperone. There was about 700 people there maybe more. I waited in line starting at 8:00am and the signing wasnt until 11:00am. From what I heard there were people there since 4:00am. But there was no need for that. People who showed up at 8:00am or 9:00 am or even later than that got an autographHe was signing 1 item only. You had to buy the DVD but you were allowed to have him sign1 peice of WWE Memorabilia instead. He was taking pictures with the fans as well. Even though the flyers said that he would not be singing memorabilia or be available for photo ops. But, it was a great deal. I paid $13 for the DVD and I got to meet Triple H, get his autograph and get my picture taken with him. The only thing that would have made the signing better is if Triple H was a little more talkative. But, this indeed was one of the greatest moments I ever had as a wrestling fan.
