Prescription Abuse Plagues Wrestling

Pro wrestling promoter Greg Price says the abuse of prescription pain pills is crippling the industry. Price runs the National Wrestling Alliance Legends Fanfest in Charlotte, which features wrestling stars from past and present.

"I see people every day," he said. "They have to perform at an incredibly high level. They don't accept mediocre. A little bit of responsibility has to come back. ... Many of these guys - they are specifically with the WWE - are paid based on their performance. If they're hurt, they can't participate at the very best level. "They can't make main-event money this month."

And that, Price said, can lead to abuse of prescription pills and other drugs. He questions whether the company is doing enough for those wrestlers who may be struggling with nagging injuries and drug issues.

Officials with World Wrestling Entertainment say the company has a strict substance abuse and drug testing policy...More?

Raw House Show Results - Liverpool, England

HHH, HBK and Cena def, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

During the match, HBK goes to roll up DiBiase and purposely pulls his pants down so you can see his entire arse for about 20 seconds whilst he runs around the ring holding it to protect his penis and you can clearly see his entire white arse.

Funny ending, Legacy are about to win when Horbswoggle appears and sweet chin musics Orton to the knee. This distracts Legacy and when they turn around DiBiase gets sweet chin music, Orton gets pedigreed and Rhodes FU'd.

Ends with the 3 faces posing in the ring with hornswoggle. DX and Cena get wound up as Hornswoggle immitates HBK's poses, then Hornswoggle grabs a bottle of water and does the HHH water spit thing and finally does Cena's 3D sign. Finally they laugh it off and celebrate together to end the show...More?

DX on the November WWE Magazine Cover

Stephanie McMahon and WWE Creative

Ask any WWE fan what’s wrong with the company today and you will get a multitude of answers – nothing, over-pushing of “Super Cena”, repetitive storylines, same-old same-old on top of the heap, too much puerile comedy, not enough wrestling and so on and so forth. Ask anyone who is responsible for everything that’s wrong with the company today and two names come up with almost monotonous regularity: Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque. It’s the latter of the two that I want to examine in this column. Stephanie has had almost a lifetime of the WWE and she has played, and continues to play, major roles in its history and development, both on-screen and off. Over the years she has been accused of all sorts of things, from the obvious charge of nepotism to outright killing the business. Where, then, does the truth lie?...More?

Rourke Wants WWE Return

The Hollywood legend had wanted to compete in a bout at WrestleMania 25 against former world champion Chris Jericho. But a clause in the contract for his next movie meant he was only allowed a quick knockout punch after Chris's regular match on the show. Many fans and critics branded that ending 'cheesy', especially after the former pro-boxer had promised to throw Jericho "around the ring like a tossed salad".

New book Wrestling With Demonsreveals how bosses of forthcoming superhero flick Iron Man 2 banned Rourke from competing in the WWE showpiece amid concerns he would injure himself and delay filming. The Golden Globe winner was then left disappointed with the outcome of his Mania appearance, because he wanted to show off the wrestling moves he learned for his Oscar nominated performance as bruised and battered wrestler Randy 'The Ram' Robinson...More?
