Triple H Handles Criticism Of WWE's Main Roster When Asked If He Could Give It An 'NXT Approach'

Triple H performs his duties as WWE's Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative which means he wears many hats in WWE. During a recent conference call, Paul Levesque was actually questioned about WWE's main roster storylines and how he would change things if given the opportunity.

A caller prefaced his question by saying he was asking "as a fan," and he was "burned out" by the WWE main roster. While praising NXT storylines for their crispness, he said Raw and SmackDown are often left "burning the midnight oil" for him personally. He noted that he wasn't looking forward to SummerSlam, and only for Takeover.

Triple H had a diplomatic reply when he was finally asked if he wished that he could take control of the main roster with an "NXT approach."

"I also wish I could fly and breath underwater," Triple H replied. "Dude, I wasn't sure if you were going to ask me a question or you were making a statement about your displeasure.

"Everybody has opinions on things and positive/negative that's the beauty in what we do and people are free to express those opinions. I'm happy that you like NXT and I'm happy you're looking forward to that show. You know some people dislike some things, there are other people who dislike what we do in NXT and there are people that like what we do there. Everybody's got an opinion and the great thing for us is no matter what it is, positive/negative, we don't have a shy fan base that is afraid to let us know.

"They will let us know and whether we decide to take that message immediately or whether it takes us a little bit to hear it, eventually we hear you. So you know, it is what it is but if people dislike something or like something that's what their voice is for and we encourage that for sure."

Jeff Jarrett And Global Force Entertainment LLC Sue Impact Wrestling’s Owner Anthem

As reported by PWInsider, Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Entertainment LLC have filed a lawsuit against Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the owners of Impact Wrestling. Below are a handful of the allegations noted throughout the course of the 26-page lawsuit.

*Violated state and federal trademark infringements in relation to GFE.

*Violated Jeff Jarrett’s exclusive property rights to his own name, photograph, and other likeness.

*That Anthem has used “a reproduction, counterfeit, copy, or colorable imitation of the GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING and GFW trademarks” in commerce, therefore they are in violation of the Lanham Act, which prohibits trademark infringement, trademark dilution, and false advertising.

*The lawsuit also claims violation of the Lanham Act through alleged “acts of unfair competition” that were done “with the intent to deceive the public into believing that goods and services offered or sold by Defendants are made by, approved by, sponsored by, or affiliated with GFE.”

*That Anthem has “caused products and/or services to enter interstate commerce designated with variations” of the Global Force Wrestling and GFW trademarks. The filing claimed, “Defendants’ use of said designation and other representations constitute a false designation of origin which is likely to cause confusion, to cause mistake, and to deceive as to the affiliation, connection, or association of Defendants with GFE and as to the origin, sponsorship, or approval of such goods and services by GFE.” This allegation would be an alleged violation of the Lanham Act.

*That Anthem was involved in “Unfair Competition in Violation of Tennessee Common Law”, alleging, “GFE and Defendants compete for a common pool of customers. As alleged herein, Defendants have engaged in unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent conduct, which is likely to cause, if it has not already, customer confusion in violation of Tennessee common law.”

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passes away

WWE is saddened to learn that Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passed away.

Best known as the powerhouse of the legendary Hart Foundation tag team with his brother-in-law, Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Jim Neidhart was also the father of current WWE Superstar Natalya.

Neidhart began his ring career after playing professional football with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. He was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Stu Hart in the infamous Hart Dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and earned his ring nickname, The Anvil, after winning an anvil throwing contest.

Neidhart married Stu's daughter, Ellie, to become a member of the legendary Hart Family before making the move to WWE along with Bret "Hit Man" Hart, Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith when WWE purchased Stu Hart’s Calgary Stampede Wrestling.

Initially, Neidhart and Hart were managed by Jimmy Hart as The Hart Foundation and went on to win two WWE World Tag Team Championships.

After several years of teaming with Bret’s younger brother, Owen Hart, and some singles competition, The Hart Foundation was re-formed in controversial fashion in 1997. Consisting of Neidhart, Bret, Owen, Smith and Brian Pillman, the pro-Canadian faction stirred United States crowds into a frenzy with their anti-American sermons.

Neidhart last competed in WWE in 1997 but his legacy lives on today through his daughter, Natalya, who displays her father’s signature charisma and toughness every time she steps in the ring.

More On Colt Cabana Suing CM Punk: Why Cabana Got His Own Lawyer, Feels Punk's Advice Led To Lawsuit

CM Punk and Colt Cabana escaped their defamation trial against Dr. Chris Amann on June 5th with a verdict in their favor. As we reported earlier, Cabana filed a lawsuit against Punk for over $1 million in legal fees and punitive damages because he claims that Punk persisted to press on in the legal process and defrauded him along the way.

The legal documents filed by Cabana's attorney on August 7th provides new details about the Amann lawsuit. It was said Cabana received an email with a letter from Dr. Amann "on or about December 14, 2014," demanding that he take down the podcast. Cabana notified Punk of this email through text messaging and the former WWE Champion said he would have his attorney at Loeb & Loeb "handle it."

After Cabana received a demand letter by mail on December 16th, Punk was notified again via text messages. Punk allegedly told Cabana to not respond and that he would be talking to his attorney, Sunny Brenner, to come up with a game plan." Punk told Cabana that "you're 100% covered." Cabana said that if he would have responded to the letter instead of listening to Punk, then he wouldn't have have had to incur the "costs, expenses or losses" associated with the case that he did.

After Amann filed his lawsuit on February 16th, 2015, Punk and Cabana retained Brenner as legal counsel for the case. Since Punk assured Cabana he was 100% covered, they signed an agreement saying they agree to "bill [Punk] for all of the legal services and expenses that we incur with respect to the Amann lawsuit" and "it is our understanding that Phil (Punk) will be responsible for paying these invoices."

Despite agreeing to pick up the cost of the trial's mounting legal fees, in late April 2016, Punk demanded via email that Cabana pay "for one or more of the Loeb Firm's statements."

"To date, I have spent $513,736 on this Amann lawsuit," Punk wrote. "My outstanding current bill is at least $300k. Half of all this is yours. Divide the 513,736 by 2 and that is what you owe me and what I expect you to pay me. Starting now I will no longer be paying your bills. You are on your own. Whatever my bill is currently, will be cut in half, and half will be yours. If you choose to make this ugly, that's fine too. I hope you won't but I gave up on you doing what is right a long time ago."

On May 5th, 2016, Cabana retained separate counsel from Punk. Brennen replied with an email on June 1st saying "he and [Punk] believed and agreed that it was best that [Cabana] not substitute counsel at that time."

In the email, Brennen wrote, "Despite your unwillingness to contribute to your legal fees, I am still prepared to represent you. [Punk] is prepared to have me represent you and cover your legal fees going forward, as long as there is no conflict between you and [Punk] that prevents me from fairly and ethically representing you. At his time, I don't believe that any such conflict exists."

Cabana agreed to keep Brennan as counsel and felt that there were no ethical issues that would prevent him from being represented by Punk's attorney. However, on March 10th, 2017, Cabana believes Punk "caused the Loeb Firm to withdraw as [Cabana's] counsel in the Amann lawsuit."

After being informed of losing his legal counsel, Cabana hired Carey Stein from the law firm Ashman & Stein to represent him in the Amann lawsuit. After the verdict was handed down in favor of Punk and Cabana, Stein demanded reimbursement of approximately $200,000 in legal fees from Punk incurred as a result of the lawsuit, which Punk refused.

Cabana is suing Punk for breach of contract and fraud. It is believed Punk breached his contract with Cabana concerning legal counsel. It was stated that Punk made promises to Cabana and he "deliberately failed or refused to inform [Cabana] that he had no intention of performing them."

The lawsuit claims, "Brooks acted with fraud, malice, and oppression toward Colton, with the deliberate intention of causing Colton harm."

Colt is asking for $200,000 in general damages, plus $1 million in punitive and exemplary damages, according to the lawsuit filing. Punk has not yet responded to the suit.

Colt Cabana Suing CM Punk For Over $1 Million

Colt Cabana (Scott Colton) is suing CM Punk(Phillip Brooks) over legal fees related to their recent defamation lawsuit win over WWE's Dr. Chris Amann, according to a report from The Chicago Sun Times.

Cabana has filed a lawsuit against Punk in Cook County Circuit Court for breach of contract and fraud.

Colt's suit alleges that Punk promised to help him out with the legal bills from the defamation suit. Colt claims Punk told him that he would be "100% covered" in a text message. Punk has allegedly failed to keep that promise and Colt now has unpaid legal bills totaling $513,736. Punk asked Colt to pay half of the legal fees, which would be $256,868, allegedly saying, "You are on your own."

The lawsuit claims, "Brooks acted with fraud, malice and oppression toward Colton, with the deliberate intention of causing Colton harm."

Colt is asking for $200,000 in general damages, plus $1 million in punitive and exemplary damages, according to the lawsuit filing.

Colt and Punk were good friends for years and courtroom reports from the recent trial with Amann indicated that they were back on good terms. It's worth noting that they started out with the same legal team for the case against Amann but Colt did hire his own attorneys. The two had a falling out in 2016 but Colt said in a June 2018 interview that they were cordial, but he hesitated before saying they are still friends.
