EWEAN mulling to stage more professional wrestling

Modern wrestling, which Nepalese could watch only in television sets in the past, is now being held in their towns and cities by the professional Nepalese wrestlers.

Everest Wrestling Entertainment Association Nepal (EWEAN), established on Feb. 2003, is staging popular professional wrestling with a view to provide entertainment to the Nepalese fans.

According to EWEAN, there are altogether 24 wrestlers, out of which 16 are professional performers and eight are currently taking training.

When asked that many people allege wrestling as a mock game, Uddhab Prasad Thapaliya,
Chairperson of EWEAN said: whatever we do in the ring is real and not fake, we perform it in front of hundreds of viewers and also sometimes the players are badly injured."

How could then it be a fake and mock game? Thapaliya questioned. He said that wrestling is a game full of technique, courage and will power...More?
