Man faces assault charge after wrestling

In a move reminiscent of something seen on a "WWE SmackDown" event, a Staunton man broke a Greenville woman's rib last week after lifting her over his head and dropping her on his knee, according to the Staunton Police Department. Police later arrested the woman on an outstanding felony warrant after she reported the injury to police. Jeremy L. Davis, 19, was charged with felonious assault in the wrestling incident.

Police said Davis and 27-year-old Leslie Cason were involved in a friendly wrestling match the night of July 8 at Davis' home in the 900 block of Trout Street. After they were finished, police said Cason offered Davis a handshake. Instead, police said Davis pulled Cason toward him, grabbed her and lifted her over his head before dropping her on his knee.
