Heavyweight Josh Barnett has tested positive for steroids less than two weeks before he was scheduled to fight Russian star Fedor Emelianenko in Anaheim.
The California State Athletic Commission denied Barnett a license to fight on the mixed marital arts card promoted by Affliction after he tested positive for an anabolic steroid.
The commission said Barnett's sample was sent to the World Anti-Doping Agency test facility at UCLA on June 25. The commission released the findings on Wednesday.
Barnett also failed a post-fight drug test in 2002, after he defeated Randy Couture to win the UFC heavyweight title.
