TV Rating for 900th Edition of Raw
The 900th episode of Monday Night Raw scored hours of 3.35 and 3.64, giving it a 3.5 cable rating.
Update on Lucha Libre USA Promotion
The August 28th edition of Lucha Libre USA scored a 0.05 rating and 45,000 viewers. The show aired on a Saturday as opposed to the usual Friday night time slot. Ratings for the series were what MTV expected them to be.
Lucha Libre USA managing director Steve Ship has confirmed that the current run of the show is finished on MTV2. The plan was always to do seasons of the show, like other MTV properties, and the 52-week agreement that they signed was not for 52 straight weeks.
The September 9th event in Corpus Christi, Texas at Whataburger Field as well as other events scheduled will take place as planed. Content will be filmed at these events and used for the LLUSA website and MTV2's website. The footage filmed in Charlotte over the weekend will be used as online content.
For the next season of the show, they will tape from one location, ala TNA Impact, but that location has not been announced yet.

Rumor Mill - WWE Unifying All Titles
WWE will be holding a Unification match for the Divas and Women's Titles at Night of Champions. The talk Monday was that WWE is planning to unify all the titles in the next year and have one World Title, one Tag Team Title, one Intercontinental/US Title and one Women's Title. The idea would be to do the WWE and World Title Unification match at WrestleMania 27.

J.R.'s Memories of Monday Night Raw
"DX...which helped launch HHH, re-invent HBK and made stars of Billy Gunn, Road Dog, and Chyna. Isis the Amazon Signs with WWE
DivaDirt.com is confirming Isis the Amazon has signed with WWE:
A reliable source tells Diva Dirt that Isis is indeed part of the FCW roster after being spotted with FCW staff and talent at last Friday’s event in Fort Myers.
Diva Dirt first broke the news that the 6’9″ wrestler was possibly signed by WWE last Friday. At the time, Isis’ representative Brad Konia told us: “We still can’t offer any comment.”
Isis joins the ranks of Christina Crawford (Alicia Fox’s sister) and Ricki Vaughn as the newest female developmental signings.
Maybe God Could Pick Another Form of Entertainment
Eddie, Test, Umaga, Lance, Trent Acid, Chris Kanyon, Luna Vachon, J.C. Bailey. There are others and there will be more. I am absolutely addicted to this business. I don't wrestle and don't want to. I'm not a promoter and don't want to be. I don't book matches and am not qualified to do so. I'm just a fan. I have been to local indy shows with a few hundred people and to sold out WWE shows at the Verizon Center. Big, small, CHIKARA, ROH, Puroresu, Lucha Libre, I watch it all. And even though it isn't politically correct, I'm a die-hard Terra Ryzin/Jean-Paul Levesque/Hunter Hearst Helmsley/Triple H fan. (yeah that long) Just a small request to the Ultimate Booker upstairs, please stop taking our young wrestlers that are just getting started. Please stop taking our veterans that have left the spotlight and joined us "regular" people. There are other forms of entertainment. Not that I want to see actors or musicians die, but things are definetly one-sided. I'm just very sad today...

Vince McMahon Comments on John Cena's Rise to the Top
“You have to start with the quality of the human being,” McMahon told the Herald. “John is an extraordinary human being; he’s honest, he’s loyal.
“He’s full of himself, too,” McMahon added, laughing. “But he’s like a throwback to the type of individual it’s difficult find these days, someone with old-fashioned values. In addition to that, he’s a Neanderthal when it comes to strength.”
Then McMahon held a meeting with his performers, saying he was looking for someone who was ready to reach for the brass ring.
“Step on people on the way over if you have to,” he recalled saying. “Apologize later. I’m looking for someone with courage that wants to break out and be ballsy enough to take on the responsibility of being the top guy. “At the end of the meeting, someone came over and said, ‘I’m your man,’ and that was John.”...More?

SmackDown Results: Disruption in the Force
Over the years, the road between brothers Kane and The Undertaker has had many ups and downs. But, are they poised for a volatile final confrontation?
The Undertaker said Kane is “guilty of a treacherous betrayal ” and is not worthy of being his brother or carrying the World Heavyweight Championship.
“I taught you everything you know about evil. But I didn’t teach you everything I know. So when the mood strikes you, I’ll be waiting. And when the fight starts, it’s always going to end the same way,” The Deadman said.
Despite the ominous warning, The Big Red Monster was not intimidated by his older brother’s words.
“Not this time,” said Kane. “I know and you know that this time it ends the same way that it did at SummerSlam, with you sprawled helpless at my feet. I vow on the grave of our mother, that you will never rest in peace.” Full results.

Rumor Mill - WWE RAW General Manager
Rumors are circulating concerning the return of Triple H and the idea has been pitched to Vince McMahon to have him revealed to be Monday Night RAW's "anonymous" General Manager. McMahon has been quoted as saying that he wants "The Game" back on television in order to further strengthen the roster heading into the fall season. As of late, McMahon has blamed WWE's previous lackluster quarter on the retirements of Dave Batista and Shawn Michaels, as well as Triple H's injuries that have kept him off of television.

Kenny King & Rhett Titus on Rumors of ROH Being in Rough Shape
Their thoughts/comments to the critics that may feel that Ring of Honor could potentially be in rough shape with the departure of ROH World Champion Tyler Black, along with the other changes that have taken place within the company over the past several weeks & how they (as a team) are going to step up in the coming weeks/months ahead:
(Kenny) "Listen the sky has fallen at least four times in Ring of Honor. AJ (Styles), ("The Fallen Angel") Christopher Daniels, & Samoa Joe left, and 'Oh my god, the sky is falling.' It didn't fall. Gabe (Sapolsky) is gone, 'Oh my god the sky is falling.' We didn't go anywhere. (Adam) Pearce is gone, 'Oh my god, the sky is falling.' Tyler Black is leaving. The thing about Ring of Honor in a word is resiliency. The thing that is always going to keep ROH alive is everybody in that locker room is hungry. Everyone in that locker room is talented, and everyone in that locker room has the ability, if called upon, to put the company on their back and run with it." (Rhett) "With all these guys leaving, it's no better time for me & Kenny to step up. We've been doing that all 2010, and we are gonna keep on doing it for 2010, and by the time 2011 hits, we're gonna be there, and we're gonna be at the top. You talk about breaking this glass ceiling. Myself & Kenny don't break glass ceilings, because we live in houses with no ceilings, because there is no level that we can't excel to, because we keep on climbing & climbing to the top."...More?

HTM Comments on Linda McMahon and the WWE
Just read a sad story online where the young lady golfer found dead last month in Colorado was a victim of suicide. I hope the media doesn't blame Linda McMahon and WWE for this one too. My point being the media are a joke. WWE or Linda McMahon are not responsible for wrestling deaths. What people do or take outside the walls of WWE is nothing to do with the company and it's a joke how much they beat up on WWE and Linda McMahon.
WWE has done nothing but try and clean up the wrestling industry and I applaud them for that. "Character" stuff aside, good news doesn't sell so no one prints it. What about the massive difference WWE make to charities, the kids at "Make a Wish" foundation why is none of that ever covered? A Smackdown in Shanghai
Throngs of kids from across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau traveled into Shanghai — with all the wrestling merchandise they could carry in tow — for a chance to watch some of wrestling’s biggest name battle it out.

Kurt Angle Responds to Steroid Allegation Reports
TNA star Kurt Angle recently spoke out on his official Twitter page regarding his name, along with UFC star Shane Carwin, being made public by Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna Dobbins on August 13 as being recipients of steroids during the sentencing hearing of J. Michael Bennett, supervising pharmacist at Applied Pharmacy Services of Mobile, AL.
As reported earlier, Bennett was sentenced to four years in prison on conviction of participating in a nationwide conspiracy to sell anabolic steroids made in Mobile. He was convicted on five counts total, including drug distribution and distribution to a person under the age of 21. He is the first of five doctors convicted.
Angle wrote on Twitter, "Rumors by media keep coming up. I was under medical supervision for meds back in 2003-2005. I had no involvement in this Alabama case. Put it to rest and come up with new material to write about. You're all hideous. I apologize for my stern comment, but I want to move on with my life and put the past behind me, mainly the mistakes I've made. That's all."
The Applied Pharmacy Services case was first made public back in 2007 by Sports Illustrated where Angle's name was the most featured. Angle claimed he was prescribed steroids for various injuries and that he had no idea his doctor went to an illegal pharmacy to get the orders filled. Angle, who was listed as seeing Dr. David Wilbirt of Phoenix (Angle doesn't live in Phoenix), received Trenbolone, a steroid that is only legal for usage on livestock and not on humans. He received the drugs from October 2004 through February 2005.

Did They Put A Gun To Your Head?
The idea that wrestlers are ignorant children who need a company they work for to engage in patronizing paternalism, endlessly holding their hands through every single day of their lives in the company, and taking responsibility for every wrong decision that they ever make, is manifestly delusional. Blaming widely hated and wealthy corporations for the volitional actions of individuals is popular because self-reflection and personal responsibility is a challenging human exercise.
Irrespective of how many Harvard alums incessantly prattle to contrary, the fact remains that nobody puts a gun to wrestlers’ heads and forces them into taking drugs...More?

WWE Hits Back at Nowinski
Former wrestler and anti-head-trauma advocate Chris Nowinski said some very critical things about Senate candidate Linda McMahon and the WWE in a recent interview with NECN, alleging that the WWE encourages steroid use and provides an unsafe environment for its wrestlers. While the McMahon campaign has not responded, to my knowledge, the WWE has.
The WWE emailed this response to Nowinski's criticisms today:
WWE RAISES CREDIBILITY ISSUES FOR CHRIS NOWINSKI
• Chris Nowinski did not reveal, as required, that he suffered previous concussions before signing his contract with WWE.
• He states WWE suggested that its performers take steroids. However, at no time does he ever state that it was suggested that he do so.
• His comments that WWE talent perform in matches 200 days a year is not factual. In 2009, the average active roster talent performed 135 days.
• A sheer fabrication --- that he went through tables four days a week.
• Mr. Nowinski states, "They have an environment where it's absolutely unsafe to work in that ring." "They have no oversight into what actually happens in the ring." If so, then why would Mr. Nowinski have ever wanted to be a part of such an environment?
• It is very dubious that he ever had a conversation with Lance Cade much less Lance Cade confiding to a total stranger that he used painkillers and steroids.
• Although renowned in the field of CTE, we are unaware of any specific qualifications or medical degrees that he possesses which would qualify him as an expert on steroids and pain killers.

Roger Clemens Charged with Lying to Congress

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Ring of Honor has fired Adam Pearce as head booker of the company, and he has been replaced by Hunter Johnson, who is known in ROH as Delirious. Wrestlezone.com reported several weeks ago that Delirious was offered a tryout match with TNA, however it appears as if he's staying with ROH for the time being. It's also being reported that Adam Pearce was recently offered a TNA tryout match, however he turned it down. Pearce was fired by Ring of Honor owner Cary Silken.

Shawn Michaels Comments on his Favorite Opponent
"Man, I have absolutely zero ability into narrowing absolutely any of my favorites into just one, but I have to say, I gotta go between Undertaker and Triple H. Other than all the obvious reasons, but the biggest one for me, those are the only two guys, I could make a mistake and it would be okay. I could put the trust of the match, the story, and absolutely everything into their hands and let go of my control. I'm a control freak (laughs). Those are the only two guys I can let drive and take my hands off the steering wheel."

Eric Bischoff Comments on Wrestling Fans vs. Wrestling Media
IGN.com recently conducted an interview with TNA's Eric Bischoff where he talked about how the internet draws out certain kinds of wrestling fans and his thoughts on the internet wrestling media.
Bischoff added, "People who are fans of wrestling are really fans of wrestling. There's not as many passive wrestling fans as people would think. There are a lot of fans who just can't get enough, and they're almost more interested in what's going on behind the scenes and the business of wrestling then they are, necessarily, of what's going on inside of the ring.
I have a Facebook page. I do an internet radio show once a month on Monday Night Mayhem and I take questions from my Facebook page and answer them live on that show. I think the internet is a manifestation of a certain sector of, as you referred to them, the hardcore fandom audience, but I would suggest that only 10 percent of that audience is the loudest portion, and they are probably a bit obsessive compulsive and get caught up in it so much that they might have lost sight of reality in some respect. But the other 90 percent of the internet audience are just people who want to keep up on what's going on behind the scenes. But, unfortunately, what we read on the internet and the rumors that are passed around and all the ridiculous observations and perspective by guys like Dave Scherer and Dave Meltzer and guys who put themselves out there to be some kind of expert when they've had zero experience in the wrestling business – that type of commentary tends to appeal the most obsessive compulsive, and loudest, 10 percent."...More?

Democrats Used to Love the WWE
With the nomination of Linda McMahon, former chief of the WWE, for Senator from Connecticut, the Democrats are jumping up and down with outrage that a wrestling magnate would dare run for public office. After all, pro wrestling is such an unseemly form of entertainment, with steroid bulked man-monsters chasing each other around the ring with chairs. However, some Democrats used to love the WWE when they wanted to get the votes of wrestling fans. Click here for the video.

Update: Tiffany Arrested and Suspended By WWE
SmackDown Results: SmackDown Prepares for a Scorcher
Just 48 hours before SummerSlam, the determination of Kofi Kinston collided with the uncontrollable rage of Kane. Shortly after Kofi sustained an injury to his leg, The Big Red Monster caught him on the top rope and sent him hurling to the canvas with a derailing super chokeslam. He then turned out the lights on his prey with the tombstone.
After the bell, Kane promised to deliver vengeance onto Mysterio at SummerSlam. The Master of the 619 emerged to reaffirm his claim that Kane actually attacked The Undertaker, vowing to reclaim the World Title in two days. Full results.

WWE Suspends Tiffany Following Incident at Hotel
WWE Diva, Tiffany was suspended by the company following an alleged altercation in a hotel where WWE had booked the wrestlers for this past Tuesday’s SmackDown taping, reports PWInsider.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that there was an incident between Tiffany and real life husband, Drew McIntyre, that resulted in police being called to the scene. Tiffany (Taryn Terrell) may or may not have been arrested. “We have conflicting reports over whether Terrell was arrested by the San Jose PD,” writes Johnson. Terrell was sent home after the incident.
There was some speculation that Terrell was due to compete this Sunday at SummerSlam in a Divas tag team match, though the match has yet to be made official by WWE.

WWE Superstars Results: It's Good To Be Bad
Accompanied by NXT season two Rookie, Kaval, and her “bestie,” Layla, the self-professed co-Women’s Champion Michelle McCool arrogantly strutted to the ring to take on the always spunky Kelly Kelly. But while she is usually the assailant, the Team Lay-Cool beauty found herself on the receiving end of a vicious attack from Kelly tonight. Pounding Michelle’s perfect face into the mat, the perky blonde showed off an aggressive side the WWE Universe has rarely seen. Kelly’s rage may have gotten the best of her, however, as McCool was able to reverse an attempted victory roll and nail a brutal Faith Breaker to claim the win. Full results.

USA Gymnasts Receive Olympic Medals 10 Years Later
The celebration came 10 years late. So did the Olympic bronze medals. The flowers, the formal presentation, the recognition and warm reception in Hartford, Conn., on Wednesday night - none of it occurred on schedule.
In the decade since the U.S. gymnastics team finished in fourth place at the Summer Games in Sydney, the six team members grew up. They got degrees, careers, boyfriends and husbands. They encroached on, or sailed by, age 30.
Silver Spring's Dominique Dawes, the team's one-time veteran, performed on Broadway and received a Presidential appointment. Columbia's Elise Ray, the squad's former star, headlined Las Vegas shows and went into coaching.
It wasn't until this past April - when the International Olympic Committee disqualified the third-place Chinese because of an underage competitor - that they learned they would finally receive the medals they failed to bring back a decade earlier...More?
