Triple H Comments on his Entrance Music and Motorhead

In a new exclusive interview for the fantastic “Lemmy” DVD – a tribute to his great pal and rock legend – Trip shows us all why he should be the ambassador to the world for WWE. He is witty, engaging and honest. It’s a wonder the fans don’t hear more from him, family duties aside.

Trip’s entrance music is performed by Motörhead – and is arguably the most iconic in the business, Taker excluded because his dirge isn’t a “song”.

Trip tells how it came about, and how it’s helped to form his wrestling identity. He says: “Eight years ago I was at a period of time with my career where I was moving up and had become a major star within the industry and I wanted to have new music that was more fitting to what I was doing.

“I wanted to have a certain vibe when I walked out. I wasn’t the pristine pretty boy. I wasn’t the nice guy any more. I was rough and tumble. My face is all scarred up. When I’m out there I’m kicking ass and hitting them with a sledge- hammer and busting them open. That is my image. I felt like the sound of Motörhead helped to convey that."

“The song The Game was written by our music guy. Lem put his twist on it. The difference between how our studio did it and how Lem had did – it was a totally different song."

“The first time I heard it I was like: “F*** yeah, that’s me right there.'”

Trip tells of how Lemmy hated what WWE had written and took to looking at pictures of The Game busting heads to get his inspiration for the song. Music is vital, Trip admits, and says he identifies with Lemmy’s “you either love us or hate us” attitude, saying:

“It’s that immediate emotional rush. When the first chord of my music hits and Lem says: ‘It’s time to play the game,’ everybody stands up. The sh**’s on, it’s a huge moment. Everybody’s music is that way, but I’m biased – I feel like I have the most powerful music in the business.”

Keep your eyes open. The game is about to change for the better.
