Bobo Brazil defeats Buddy Austin for the World Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Title in Los Angeles, California, ending Austin's third reign and beginning Brazil's second. Bobo Brazil would be the last to hold the title, as on October 1, the WWA joined the National Wrestling Alliance and became NWA Hollywood Wrestling, recognizing NWA World Champion Gene Kiniski.
