Kaliqo's Unforgiven Picks, Predictions & Speculations

WWE Diva's Championship: Michelle McCool (c) vs. Maryse
I love the Diva Championship belt, but I am not interested in seeing these two "wrestle" at all. I do wish that wweshop.com would sell replica belt buckles of the belt. I would buy that.

World Tag Team Championship Match: Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Cryme Tyme
This should be a good one. Ted DiBiase is definitely the star of this group. Since Cryme Tyme is over as faces I think the titles should stay with the current champs.

ECW Championship 'Scramble' Match: Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay vs. The Miz
Oh God ECW. I just don't get it. Mark Henry is pitiful in the ring. I'd like to see Matt with the title. He's earned it.

World Heavyweight Championship 'Scramble' Match: CM Punk (c) vs. JBL vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kane vs. Batista
I'm sure CM Punk will retain the title, but as long as they don't put it on JBL or Mysterio, I'm a happy camper.

WWE Championship 'Scramble' Match: Triple H (c) vs. MVP vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin
I would like to see Jeff get the title and re-new his feud with Triple H. A Shelton Benjamin/Triple H feud would be good also.

Unsanctioned Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
I don't think it matters who wins this match because it is going to be amazing regardless of the outcome. I would expect Shawn to get the pin.

Raw House Show Results: Madison Square Garden

John Cena and Batista defeated Kane and Chris Jericho. Y2J came out first and cut a heel promo on Shawn and Rebecca Michaels. Cena and Batista posed on the ropes together to a huge amount of pyro. The match had all the usual spots. The end came when Batista speared Kane then Cena tossed Jericho over the top rope and got the pin. Cena went in the crowd to celebrate afterwards and Batista held up a sign that read "Batista Hates Cancer" from the first row.

WWE World champ CM Punk defeated JBL in a Steel Cage match. JBL did mic work saying it was the greatest night of MSG history because it would be the day NY's favorite son JBL comes home. He said that he understands NY needs a savior and it will be JBL. When Punk came to the ring, he stopped to hug ROH owner Cary Silkin and Larry Sweeney who were at ringside. Punk ended up hitting the floor first and then hitting the GTS on the floor. Punk celebrated after the match around ringside with the fans, limping slightly...More?

Shawn Michaels Announcement
Shawn Michaels comes to the ring with his wife Rebeka. He states that after speaking with the doctors and his wife about his severe eye injury, he has decided to retire. Chris Jericho comes to the ring and wants Shawn to admit he is leaving because he put him out. Shawn states that he can admit that Chris caused the injury and that Chris needs to admit that he will never be Shawn Michaels. Jericho takes out Shawn's wife. Shawn stares down Jericho as the medics tend to Rebeka.

Mark Henry (c) v. Matt Hardy
Winner: Matt Hardy by DQ, Mark Henry retains his title

CM Punk (c) v. JBL
Winner: CM Punk retains his title

Triple H (c) v. Great Khali
Winner: Triple H retains his title

John Cena v. Batista
Winner: Batista

Undertaker v. Edge

SmackDown House Show Highlights - Rockford, IL

John Cena, CM Punk, and Triple H vs. JBL, the Great Khali, and William Regal.

Punk out first to a huge pop when Chimmell announced he was from Chicago, Illinois. Then out comes Cena to a louder pop yet, and the loudest pop of the night for HHH. Not quite sure how Regal got into this match. Cena and Punk each get beat down until HHH comes in. Finish seems Cena and HHH hitting their signature moves, and HHH covering Regal for the win...More?

Kaliqo's SummerSlam Predictions, Pick's & Speculations

Undertaker vs. Edge in a Hell in the Cell Match
Not much I can say about this one. This is definitely one to record. Edge is so over as a heel, I would like to see him win this one. If he does, I'm sure he will have some help.

John Cena vs. Batista
Face versus face? Now would be a good time to turn Cena heel, although I don't think that will ever happen. Have to support the local talent, so I'm going to go with Batista.

JBL vs. CM Punk for the WWE world heavyweight title
Don't like JBL. Don't like CM Punk. Don't care who wins.

Triple H vs. the Great Kahli for the WWE title
Like I said in a previous post, Hunter is going to have to work his ass off to make this match look good. I think Hunter should drop the title to Khali because it is inconceivable that he could beat him, unless a sledgehammer is involved. Rematch at Unforgiven.

MVP vs. Jeff Hardy
This should be another really good match. I would like to see MVP go over Jeff just to get him more over as a heel.

Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy
ECW. Why? What is the purpose of keeping this around? Mark Henry can't move so Matt will have to do all the work. I really don't care, but I do like the new belt.

Kofi Kingston & Mickie James (c's) vs. Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix
Normally I would go with the local talent which in this case would be Mickie James, but I love Santino and Beth Phoenix. I'm really hoping they win.

Shawn Michaels' Announcement
I would love to see Chris Jericho interfere with this and Hunter run in for the save. That could set-up Jericho to interfere in Hunter's match with Khali costing him the match. Jericho and Hunter could then "appear" on each other's shows which would allow Hunter to be on Raw even though he was drafted to SmackDown. As far as Shawn's announcement goes, I don't expect him to go anywhere.

JBL & Meredith Whitney in Fortune Magazine

It's the first time I've seen Wall Street's toughest analyst look rattled. I'm sitting ringside at the WWE's Great American Bash at New York's Nassau Coliseum with Meredith Whitney - the Oppenheimer & Co. analyst renowned for her smackdowns of America's biggest banks. Though she and I are there to see her husband, pro wrestling star John Layfield ("JBL"), the evening's most compelling match turns out to be not Layfield's but a brutal-looking showdown between rivals Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels...More?

Worst in-ring performers in the WWE

JBL. I could tolerate his run as a main event guy on Smackdown a few years back, and even though you can easily argue he should never have been elevated to the position, he did a decent job with it. From there, he was great alongside Michael Cole calling Smackdown on a Friday night. But when he returned to the ring and moved over to Raw, his whole act just sucked. Yes we know he can talk on the mic, but ol’ Jumbo Bitchtits Layfield has been awful in the ring.

Chavo Guerrero. Just so dull, so boring, to the point where you have to change the channel when he’s on screen. There’s no charisma, no spectacular moves, no interesting character work to keep you interested, yet unlike a Khali where he’s pushed as a freakshow element where you don’t really expect great matches, Chavo is put in positions on the card where you expect traditionally great workers to be put in there and he just sucks all the air out of the room.

Mike Knox. Trust me, The Great Khali ran him close. However, at least Khali has a selling point (albeit a chokeslam and a headbutt) and although both Khali and Knox are poor, Knox wins it for me. Knox doesn’t have one move worth even remembering. Kelly Kelly’s old boyfriend? He wishes. Get to the indies, or a wrestling school. Now.

Snitsky. He manages to drag anyone - and I mean anyone - down to his quality of working…which isn’t any good.

The Great Khali. Khali remains consistently poor, but during 2008 he has been further dogged by injuries, and has not had the surprisingly entertaining series with John Cena to redeem him somewhat that he had last year.

Raw House Show Results - Lima, Peru

Attendance was around 28,000, so not the 45,000 they were hoping for. Still a very solid draw and this will probably end up being the largest gate ever for pro wrestling in South or Central America.

Raw House Show Results - Santiago, Chile

Opening Segment: Rey Mysterio cuts a promo telling the audience that Triple H won't be able to be in the show and that he (Rey) will not be able to wrestle. Out comes Carlito and talks trash to Rey. Rey announces that a friend of his will fight Carlito instead… Batista.

Match 1: Batista def Carlito (squash match)

Match 2: Lance Cade def Paul London via pinfall

Match 3: Hacksaw Jim Duggan def Charlie Haas via pinfall

Match 4: World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr def Cryme Tyme via pinfall to retain the titles.

Match 5: WWE Women's Champion Mickie James def Beth Phoenix via pinfall to retain the tittle (Special Guest Referee: Santino Marella)

Y2J Promo: Jericho comes out. Talks trash to the crowd in Spanish telling them they are all cowards and liars just like Shawn Michaels… out comes HBK.

Match 6: Shawn Michaels def Chris Jericho via pinfall

Match 7: World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk def Kane via pinfall

JBL Promo: JBL comes out. Says Chile, its women and the audience are all trash. Then he starts to sing. Out comes John Cena to a mixed reaction. Women and kids went nuts. Men just booed him out of the building.

Match 8: John Cena def JBL via pinfall.

The arena was packed with approx. 15,000 people. All in all, the general reaction was that the show was below what people expected. The first part dragged a lot and the crowd got into the show when Y2J came out. In general, the Smackdown show was put together better and the crowd was more into it, probably because it was the first time we saw this type of event in Chile. At the end of the show, the crowd started chanting Triple H showing their disappointment after the draft took the chance of watching The Game away from them.

J.R.'s Superstars of the Week - JBL and Melina

This week, we have the rare occurrence of having co-Raw Superstars of the Week and they are both extreme – there’s that word again – opposites.

After careful consultation with our staff psychologist and veterinarian, this week’s award is shared by Melina (no last name) and JBL (initials galore)...More?

Raw House Show Results - Mexico City, Mexico Day 1

The first match was between Super Crazy against Paul Burchill and Katie Lea. Crazy won by pinfall over Paul. Next Trevor Murdoch won by pinfall over a guy who I have never seen and couldn't hear his name, very boring match, nothing to remember.

Then Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE women championship, it was a good match, the people love the champion and after the match Phoenix received a strong ovation because of the good fight she gave against James.

Mick Foley was received with one of the best ovations of the day, after that, Kennedy took the microphone of Lillian and in spanish he said "I'm the future of the wrestling: Mr Kennedy" and of course the pop was huge. Kennedy won after a mic check, but Foley had to save him because Cade attacked him from behind, Mick made appear Mr. Socko to send Cade home and receive a lot of claps.

In a triple threat Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly retain their belts against Paul London with Brian and Santino Marella with Carlito.

HBK and Y2J fought in a non title match. Both had great receptions, but i think that the one for Shawn Michaels was better. HBK won by pinfall after sweet chin music.

John Cena and Jeff Hardy defeated JBL and Snitsky. At the end, Hardy and Cena took a flag of Mexico and showed it to the fans, it was fantastic, the best pop of the night, they were good enough to say hi to all the people they could on their way back to the locker room.

In the main event Triple H defeated Umaga for the WWE championship with the pedigree.

Kaliqo's Judgment Day Picks

Usually I post the pay per view picks of a writer that goes by the name of "Professor Wrestling". This time, I decided to post my own picks:

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Miz and Morrison (c) vs. Kane and C.M. Punk
I still see the Miz as the jerk from The Real World. It's hard for me to take him seriously as a wrestler. However, I do like John Morrison. With more seasoning, I think he will do well. It would be a real boost to these two to go over Kane & Punk, but I think the latter will get the win.

WWE Women's Championship Match: Mickie James (c) vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Melina
Normally I don't pay any attention to the Divas, but I do like Beth Phoenix and Mickie James. I would prefer to see this match without Melina, but James and Phoenix should provide enough physicality to make it interesting. I think Mickie should retain the title with Phoenix chasing her for awhile.

Challenge Match: JBL vs. John Cena
I don't like either one of these guys so it doesn't matter to me who wins. Cena will probably go over JBL.

Challenge Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
Sleeper match of the ppv. Anything Shawn Michaels is in is awesome. It seems that HBK is become a tweener and if that's the case, he should go over Jericho, maybe with some interference to add an edge.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Undertaker vs. Edge
Love the Undertaker, but with a reduced schedule, I think Edge will get the win. I sincerely hope the writers end the Edge/Vickie story. It has a high "yuck" rating.

WWE Championship Match: Triple H (c) vs. Randy Orton
I think the Hunter will retain the title. He will probably lose it to John Cena when Cena returns after filming his movie.

Cage Match after Raw

After this week’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW went off the air, DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) & John Cena teamed up to face Randy Orton, JBL and Umaga in a steel cage match for the dark match main event.

Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena won the match by all completing their own finishers on Randy Orton, JBL and Umaga at the same time.

After the match, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena all climbed to the top of the cage and gave the DX ‘Suck It’ chops.

Twelfth Knight

In a history-making Fatal Four Way Elimination battle at Backlash, The Game defeated a trio of past and present WWE Champions – JBL, John Cena and, ultimately, Randy Orton – to claim his 12th World Title.

Ending the “Age of Orton’s” near seven-month reign, Triple H not only secured his spot at the top of sports-entertainment, the King of Kings reseated himself upon the illustrious WWE Championship throne – notwithstanding any argument from William Regal or any other Raw competitor. And, he did it by outlasting three veritably iconic WWE Superstars.
