Stephanie McMahon Says The Purpose Of Her Character Is Getting Others Over, Returning To The Ring

Stephanie McMahon participated in a Facebook Q&A this afternoon. You can check out the highlights below:

- She says her favorite thing about being in the WWE is getting to interact with the fans.

- Her favorite promo was the one she cut on Shane McMahon while getting the Legacy of Excellence Award, saying it was 'challenging.' Getting to slap Roman Reigns was also 'impactful and challenging.'

- Brie Bella 'packs a wallop' in her slap, according to Stephanie.

- Stephanie says it was a privilege to be in the ring with Dusty Rhodes and said that he challenged her in the ring on the mic. She says it was a moment that she'll never forget.

- She wanted to write a book to let people know what is so special about the WWE, and wanted to entice and entertain those people who haven't found it yet.

- She's excited to share her moments with Andre, dinner with wrestlers, her mom making Mr. T liver, and her love story with Triple H.

- She says she enjoyed her programs with Trish Stratus, Brie Bella, Lita and Jacqueline Moore. Having the privilege to get in the ring without being a wrestler is an honor to her. She says the decision to get back in the ring isn't up to her, it's up to the 'decision maker.' She says that as long as it helps get somebody over, that's the ultimate goal of her character.

- Being a heel is her preference over being a babyface. Heels getting their comeuppance is her favorite part, according to her. She cited Sable and Chris Jericho as doing that.

- Stephanie McMahon says the reason that she and Triple H train at midnight is because it's the only time they really have to train.

- She briefly considered a career as a dance choreographer and a marine biologist.

- She really enjoys helping grow the brand, and says she's wanted to be involved in the WWE her entire life.

- One of her biggest takeaways from the Eisenhower Fellowship is that people are all the same, regardless of country. She says it shouldn't have been that much of a surprise, but it was.

- Stephanie spends her free time with her children and husband doing movie night or game night.

Ric Flair Says WWE Has Been Proven Right About Roman Reigns

Recently on Talk Is Jericho, two-time WWE Hall Of Famer, Ric Flair spoke with 'Y2J' Chris Jericho about WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns.

According to Flair, one of Reigns' core competencies is his versatility.

"You really don't know what the crowd is going to do until you go out there through the curtain, right? You can have something all planned out and they're not going to buy it. I mean, that's the great thing about having Roman [Reigns]. I think they struggled with him at first, but with Roman, they've got the best of both worlds. They've got a guy that one day can wrestle Seth Rollins and be the hottest bad guy in the [professional wrestling] business, which that match will be huge when they have it or he can go out and wrestle Hunter and whatever, right? He's good! Yes, [he is versatile], which is a good thing, I think."

Also, Flair is of the opinion that WWE brass has been proven right in backing Reigns all along and that it is impossible for fans to boo him now.

"Look at the match him and AJ [Styles] had [at WWE Payback]. Holy cow! What a match. Start, restart, start, restart. And you know, AJ flies around. [Jericho] should know. He works [Jericho's] style of work, but Roman hung right there with him for 30 minutes. Roman [has] got legs. It makes him a better performer. You can't [boo him] anymore. But he just had to work hard to win them over. But the company just proves everybody right. They did the right thing. Bret [Hart], I just saw Bret the other day, but Bret was hammering the company for the way they treat Roman. Roman's as happy as can be. Bret's fine now too! As long as he can put the Sharpshooter on me, he's happy."

Triple H Talks WrestleMania Match With Roman Reigns Being 'Challenging,' Reigns As A 'Tweener'

Triple H was interviewed by The Mirror during the U.K tour last week. Below are some highlights:

If he enjoyed his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32:

"Yeah, you know, it was a challenging situation on a lot of fronts. Roman is a unique character in the business and a polarising character, much like a John Cena or somebody like that. He's a polarising character, you are in front of 100,000 people and you're also coming up at the end of a six-and-a-half hour plus show - it was long. I was happy with it but to be honest I've not watched it back yet. I'm real funny about watching myself back at this point in time in my career, it's hard for me to see the positives sometimes. But I was there, I kind of know how it went and how it felt out there and yeah, I was happy with it, I felt we did well and we did what we needed to do. For me it's about getting to where you need to be. If you get to the end of a chapter in WWE, and the chapter delivered to get you where you needed to go to start the next chapter, then you did all right."

Reigns being more of a "tweener" in his feud with AJ Styles:

"Yeah. I think the world is a different place now. I think you're going to find it very hard now, at the top level, to find anybody that is either a good guy or a bad guy. Someone who is universally loved or universally disliked. It's very difficult. I think part of that is the internet, in that I don't care what the topic is, whether it's politics, music, sports, anything, you can go on the internet and find somebody who loves it and somebody who hates it. You can jump on whatever conversation you want to have with people who are like-minded to what you think, or opposite-minded to what you think. And that emboldens your position right? So I think the time of 'hey, this is the guy and he's the good guy' and everybody goes 'yay he's the good guy' - I think that time has gone. And I think the time of saying 'this is the bad guy and he's the evil one and everybody is going to hate that person' is really gone too. Because there is just that level of, no matter if you're the bad guy doing the worst possible thing you can do, there is somebody that goes: 'I like that, that's cool, I like the fact he's that evil, that's cool'. There are people on the other side who want a hero saying 'hey, don't quit, never surrender and I'm the underdog...' all those things. I make that sound horrible - can you tell which way I slant? Ha ha.

"I just think that either one or the other time is gone and you're going to rub against that now. I think the real position in the business, and what we do now, is about just being true. Being real, being you and whatever that is, being true to the character that you create. And if you're true to it and believe it and feel it, then people will buy it, either positively or negatively, they will get behind you one way or the other. As long as you're true to that character and who that person is. If you sway from that character and wobble and vary, then there is no buy-in, because they see it's just a front."

Triple H also discussed working with Dean Ambrose, if he felt more pressure headlining WrestleMania 32 than before, NXT returning to the U.K. for the Download festival and more. You can check out the full interview by clicking here.

Sneak peek: Seth Green imagines kid wrestlers for 'Camp WWE'

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and John Cena are superstars in a pro wrestling ring, but Seth Green is on a mission to make their kid selves just as entertaining while toasting marshmallows and driving grownups crazy.

The actor and longtime wrestling fan is reimagining grapplers as 8-year-old boys and girls at summer camp in the adult animated series Camp WWE. The show premieres on demand May 1 on the WWE Network streaming service.

Green and his team at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios regularly tackle pop culture with series such as Robot Chicken and SuperMansion, but with Camp WWE, Green says, “getting to introduce these characters to a different audience (and) a new generation in a way they’ve never seen before is like a unique kind of privilege for me.”

The summer camp is headed up by Vince McMahon — with the WWE chairman, president and CEO voicing himself — though he’s an even more over-the-top persona than in the ring, as he rides giraffes and takes swigs from McMahonade. His daughter Stephanie McMahon and Triple H are 15-year-old camp counselors, while “Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Sgt. Slaughter are activity supervisors for the kids.

Hulk Hogan Talks Roman Reigns Listening to Fans, Praises Triple H, More

Hulk Hogan recently spoke with Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard, here are the highlights:

On Roman Reigns: “If I was Roman Reigns, I would just listen to what the people want. If they want to boo me, then it’s like Razor Ramon would say–‘I’ll be the ‘Bad Guy’ for you.’ Roman Reigns should be as evil as he wants. If they’re booing him, then that’s what they want to see.”

On Triple H: “Triple H has stood the test of time. When he is in the ring, everybody loves watching him wrestle. His work goes back to DX and the NWO–the more evil he is, the more the people cheer him. Wrestling is in his blood, and people know what to expect when he gets in the ring, so people cheer his a–.”

On Working In Front of Big Crowds: “Once you get there in front of 100,000, the final element is how you respond to the people. Usually by the time you get to a crowd that big, you already have your act together. With a crowd that big–even if you bodyslam a giant–the signals come back awkwardly. It’s such a sea of people, you need to be able to read the crowd and roll to it. That’s why you see Triple H perform on a different level to connect with the crowd. That’s the mental aspect, and that shows you who the masters are out there.”

Will He Appear at WrestleMania 33?: “Never say never.”

New WWE Champs How'd We Celebrate??? Sushi & Miller Lite!!!

Newly crowned WWE champs Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair are about to answer the most important question about being a brand new champion ... WHAT DO YOU EAT TO CELEBRATE?!

We got the duo leaving NBC in NY and tossed the question ... and the Wrestlemania 32 conquerors both fessed up immediately ... although they were on totally opposite ends of the spectrum.

Check out the clip -- Roman played the part of the simple man while Charlotte -- yes, Rick's daughter -- talked about the fancy food she ate on the jet to NYC (Nature Boy would be proud).

Congrats.

Roman Reigns on fan backlash to his character on WWE TV

Jan Murphy of The Whig is featuring an interview with WWE star Roman Reigns discussing WrestleMania 32 next weekend the fan backlash to his character on WWE television.

"It's a tough one because there is no one answer. There is no one reason why someone would want to boo me. Maybe they don't like what I wear, how I sound, maybe I did something to offend them, but for me, it's hard because I'm under the microscope and I'm dealing with a lot of different things and there's a lot of things flying my way. For me, I can only continue to stay within myself and worry about the things I can control and the things I can control are, Am I healthy?; Am I showing up to where I need to be on time?; Am I here to perform and do my job? If I do that, then our fans, they can cheer me, they can boo me, as long as we all show up to the arena, everything will be fine. We'll be able to create that awesome experience, create that energy. I do know I have a lot of supporters. These people have my back. There's nothing that anybody can say negatively to me that will make me believe you are correct. It's just your opinions."

Roman Reigns Q&A Highlights: Talks Facing Triple H at WrestleMania, Overused Slang Words, His Biggest Pet Peeve and More

#1 Contender to the WWE World Title Roman Reigns recently did a Q&A with USA Today High School Sports to promote WrestleMania 32 and below are some highlights:

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“Ooh there’s so many, but I’d have to say close-talking. I hate it when people get in my face. Sometimes fans will get a little too close in my bubble and, at the end of the day, we’re all human. Give me 5 feet; not with your hand either.”

What’s the most overused slang word or phrase out today?

“Oh there’s a ton of them! It took me forever to figure out what ‘bae’ was. I thought they were misspelling ‘babe.’ I think ‘bae’ is ridiculous!”

OK, we’ve got WrestleMania on April 3, it’s you, it’s Triple H… How are you gonna pull this thing off?

“Well, this is a classic case of an older lion taking on a younger lion. Triple H describes this business as his religion; I was born in it. It’ll be two phenomenal, heavyweight athletes going at it. He’s the authority so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s able to do whatever he wants. I’m pretty much fighting a juggernaut, but it’s gonna be fun!”

Sean Waltman Comments On Roman Beating Up Triple H

Former WWE Superstar Sean Waltman was a on a recent edition of The Ross Report with Jim Ross. During his appearance he spoke candidly about Roman Reigns’ push and his attack on Triple H after the WWE TLC PPV:

WWE did wonders in a two-day period between the last pay-per-view and I was here in Philly when Roman won the title in the exact building in Royal Rumble that they booed him out of the building. I might get heat for this but him beating the hell out of Hunter, that almost didn’t happen. Hunter had to fight really hard to get that to happen and they tried to put an edge on Roman and it did work.

Rumor Mill - Backstage Talk On Mixed Reactions To Triple H's Recent WWE NXT 'Takeover: London' Appearance

There has been mixed reactions to Triple H appearing on the WWE NXT "Takeover: London" show last month, just days after after being destroyed by Roman Reigns at TLC and not being able to appear on RAW that week, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. There has also been talk about how he posted workout footage on Twitter that same week.

The majority feel that if anyone else was involved in a major injury angle on TV and posted training footage on social media while appearing to be out and about, it would get a negative reaction from WWE officials, but everyone knows that rules are different for top stars and the McMahons.

Some in NXT were mad at Roman Reigns, or how his SmackDown promo was scripted, as he mentioned that nobody had seen Triple H since he beat him up at TLC, essentially ignoring the Takeover appearance. The feeling was it sent the message that Reigns had no idea what happened at Takeover and the main roster doesn't pay attention to the brand, making it appear to be second-rate, because the promo aired after Takeover. According to The Observer, it was acknowledged that Triple H probably should not have appeared at Takeover but he was going to "take his victory bow" in front of the sold out NXT crowd regardless.

The main roster feeling was that they did an injury angle and then taped the SmackDown promo with Reigns on Tuesday, so Triple H should have stayed off Takeover on Wednesday. Regardless of the miscommunication between NXT and SmackDown, the feeling was that Triple H should have appeared on the next week's RAW and that WWE creative should have respected the NXT viewers enough to not act like Triple H hadn't been seen since the beatdown at TLC and like he was too injured to appear.

Vince McMahon Makes Major Change to the WWE Royal Rumble Match

As seen at the end of WWE Raw last night, Vince McMahon announced that Roman Reigns will have to defend his WWE World Title in the 30 man over the top rope Royal Rumble match taking place at WWE Royal Rumble this month.

This will be the first time in WWE history that the WWE Title is defended in the Royal Rumble match.

The WWE Title was on the line in the Royal Rumble match back in 1992, but the title was vacant going into the match. The bout and title were won by Ric Flair that year.
