WWE Stars List Beatles Favorites

WrestleMania goes head-to-head with Beatlemania tonight in Glendale, with the legendary Paul McCartney blowing the dust off any number of his favorite moments with the act you've known for all these years at Jobing.com Arena, while across the way, large men in tights will engage in heated battle scenes.

To mark this coincidence, the WWE Superstars told us their favorite Beatles songs. Here's what they had to say:

Chris Jericho: "The Beatles are my favorite band of all time. I will be going to the McCartney show after WrestleMania!" Favorite song: "I Want You (She's so Heavy)."

John Cena: "Come Together."

Shawn Michaels: "Let It Be."

Randy Orton: "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds."

Edge: "A Day in the Life." "To me," he says, "they're singing a movie, and it's a point/counterpoint between Lennon and McCartney. They both have a character in the song."

Cody Rhodes: "Back in the U.S.S.R."

Sheamus: "Hey Jude." "It's been my favorite song since I was a kid," he says...More?

Santino Sitcom

In an article posted on AOL Television’s Web site, WWE Superstar Santino Marella reveals that WWE is working on developing their own sitcom starring none other than Santino himself. Regarding the situation, the Italian Superstar said that he would be “the next one to cross over, the next Hollywood star.”

With filming starting in the next few weeks, the plan is that Santino will star in the sitcom alongside WWE Diva Beth Phoenix and WWE Superstar Vladimir Kozlov, playing his girlfriend and best friend respectively.

As it stands now, plans are that the show will originally air on WWE.com, and then if all goes well, it will find a home on a network. To read more on this developing story, click here.

Santino's Rumble Status

Santino Marella now holds the record for shortest time in the ring for the Royal Rumble match after being eliminated after just over one second. The Warlord lasted two seconds in 1989 and in 1995, Sir Mo and the late Owen Hart only lasted three seconds.

William Regal Critiques Santino

Regal recently won the title from Santino, who Regal says is good at comedy, but hasn't grown in the ring as he should have by now.

"I think what he does, the entertainment aspect of it, is brilliant," Regal said. "I try and help him a lot because obviously his wrestling is not where it should be - but he can get there.

"He's been thrown in the deep end straight out of wrestling school and he does a great job at what he does. I think he's got a great future but you can only get by doing so much comedy."

Santino is Raw: A look at the awful “go home” edition of Raw

A review of last Monday's Raw:

Sometimes, its easy to be harsh on a wrestling promotion. Throughout Cyberspace, wrestling fans regularly criticise WWE and TNA for the quality of their programming and booking ideas. And sometimes, in fact quite often, the criticism is uncalled for and unjustified. But not last night.

I’d love to hear from anybody who watched Raw last night and enjoyed it. Actually, I’d love to hear from anybody who watched Raw and have decided to buy this Sunday’s Cyber Sunday PPV as a result of watching the show...More?

Santino Marella - Best Comedic Heel

For my money the best comedic heel in the business right now is Santino Marella. He is so funny and entertainment that I look forward to his segments each week on RAW. More importantly though Santino is funny and entertaining without ever making himself look good. Santino has gone above and beyond to make sure he is the butt of every joke. No matter how much of an idiot you are, you can watch Santino Marella and take comfort in him being an even bigger one...More?

Kaliqo's SummerSlam Predictions, Pick's & Speculations

Undertaker vs. Edge in a Hell in the Cell Match
Not much I can say about this one. This is definitely one to record. Edge is so over as a heel, I would like to see him win this one. If he does, I'm sure he will have some help.

John Cena vs. Batista
Face versus face? Now would be a good time to turn Cena heel, although I don't think that will ever happen. Have to support the local talent, so I'm going to go with Batista.

JBL vs. CM Punk for the WWE world heavyweight title
Don't like JBL. Don't like CM Punk. Don't care who wins.

Triple H vs. the Great Kahli for the WWE title
Like I said in a previous post, Hunter is going to have to work his ass off to make this match look good. I think Hunter should drop the title to Khali because it is inconceivable that he could beat him, unless a sledgehammer is involved. Rematch at Unforgiven.

MVP vs. Jeff Hardy
This should be another really good match. I would like to see MVP go over Jeff just to get him more over as a heel.

Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy
ECW. Why? What is the purpose of keeping this around? Mark Henry can't move so Matt will have to do all the work. I really don't care, but I do like the new belt.

Kofi Kingston & Mickie James (c's) vs. Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix
Normally I would go with the local talent which in this case would be Mickie James, but I love Santino and Beth Phoenix. I'm really hoping they win.

Shawn Michaels' Announcement
I would love to see Chris Jericho interfere with this and Hunter run in for the save. That could set-up Jericho to interfere in Hunter's match with Khali costing him the match. Jericho and Hunter could then "appear" on each other's shows which would allow Hunter to be on Raw even though he was drafted to SmackDown. As far as Shawn's announcement goes, I don't expect him to go anywhere.

Tainted Love

Last week on Raw, The Glamazon and the Italian Superstar struggled, then stopped suddenly and began kissing passionately only to pull away a moment later, confused and seemingly a little frightened. WWE.com has assembled a list of some favorite examples of people who've struggled against one another only to begin struggling with each other. Click here.

Attendance was around 28,000, so not the 45,000 they were hoping for. Still a very solid draw and this will probably end up being the largest gate ever for pro wrestling in South or Central America.

Raw House Show Results - Santiago, Chile

Opening Segment: Rey Mysterio cuts a promo telling the audience that Triple H won't be able to be in the show and that he (Rey) will not be able to wrestle. Out comes Carlito and talks trash to Rey. Rey announces that a friend of his will fight Carlito instead… Batista.

Match 1: Batista def Carlito (squash match)

Match 2: Lance Cade def Paul London via pinfall

Match 3: Hacksaw Jim Duggan def Charlie Haas via pinfall

Match 4: World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr def Cryme Tyme via pinfall to retain the titles.

Match 5: WWE Women's Champion Mickie James def Beth Phoenix via pinfall to retain the tittle (Special Guest Referee: Santino Marella)

Y2J Promo: Jericho comes out. Talks trash to the crowd in Spanish telling them they are all cowards and liars just like Shawn Michaels… out comes HBK.

Match 6: Shawn Michaels def Chris Jericho via pinfall

Match 7: World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk def Kane via pinfall

JBL Promo: JBL comes out. Says Chile, its women and the audience are all trash. Then he starts to sing. Out comes John Cena to a mixed reaction. Women and kids went nuts. Men just booed him out of the building.

Match 8: John Cena def JBL via pinfall.

The arena was packed with approx. 15,000 people. All in all, the general reaction was that the show was below what people expected. The first part dragged a lot and the crowd got into the show when Y2J came out. In general, the Smackdown show was put together better and the crowd was more into it, probably because it was the first time we saw this type of event in Chile. At the end of the show, the crowd started chanting Triple H showing their disappointment after the draft took the chance of watching The Game away from them.

Santino Marella to get new stable

"I’m happy I stayed with RAW," he motioned to SLAM! Wrestling. "There’s no difference between the calibre of talent on the shows, but RAW is looked at as the flagship, Vince’s baby and things like that, so being there, and being chosen to be there, it’s a good indicator that they want me around, so I’m happy with that. I lost Carlito; I lost Maria, so we’ll be starting from scratch in terms of who we’re kind of running with on the show. It’s kind of a fresh start."

Carelli, out of character for most of the conversation, indicated that the writing team plans to make Santino a more active player on the RAW landscape...More?

Raw House Show Results - Mexico City, Mexico Day 1

The first match was between Super Crazy against Paul Burchill and Katie Lea. Crazy won by pinfall over Paul. Next Trevor Murdoch won by pinfall over a guy who I have never seen and couldn't hear his name, very boring match, nothing to remember.

Then Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE women championship, it was a good match, the people love the champion and after the match Phoenix received a strong ovation because of the good fight she gave against James.

Mick Foley was received with one of the best ovations of the day, after that, Kennedy took the microphone of Lillian and in spanish he said "I'm the future of the wrestling: Mr Kennedy" and of course the pop was huge. Kennedy won after a mic check, but Foley had to save him because Cade attacked him from behind, Mick made appear Mr. Socko to send Cade home and receive a lot of claps.

In a triple threat Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly retain their belts against Paul London with Brian and Santino Marella with Carlito.

HBK and Y2J fought in a non title match. Both had great receptions, but i think that the one for Shawn Michaels was better. HBK won by pinfall after sweet chin music.

John Cena and Jeff Hardy defeated JBL and Snitsky. At the end, Hardy and Cena took a flag of Mexico and showed it to the fans, it was fantastic, the best pop of the night, they were good enough to say hi to all the people they could on their way back to the locker room.

In the main event Triple H defeated Umaga for the WWE championship with the pedigree.
