Rumor Mill - Where The Miz Currently Stands With WWE Officials

There appears to be backstage heat on WWE star The Miz for botching a spot on Raw which resulted in R-Truth taking a bad fall during the main event match.

In an update to this story, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that The Miz has somewhat fallen out of favor with WWE management, and it's due in part to the Raw incident as well as several other factors. WWE is placing a lot of the low Survivor Series buyrate blame on The Miz, as the company felt there wasn't enough interest in him heading into his tag bout at the PPV.

Additionally, it's being said that WWE officials feel The Miz has regressed on the microphone and in the ring since his main event push leveled off last year. Prior to that, management always regarded The Miz highly as they felt he represented the company well during media appearances and was a hungry superstar. Since being relegated back to the midcard, however, officials feel that he has lost a lot of the drive that made him a top talent in the past, and that he is not offering management many reasons to elevate him back to the top again.

December 19th Raw TV Ratings Breakdown: Main Event with New Champs Disappoints

In what is a very bad sign, the overrun for the CM Punk, Daniel Bryan & Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio, The Miz & Dolph Ziggler match gained only 59,000 viewers. This is almost impossible as people tune into USA to see the next TV show. This means wrestling fans were tuning out in large numbers. Fans tuned out mostly during the first part of the match but viewership picked up some at 11pm.

The RAW six-man main event did a 2.67 rating, which might be the lowest rated RAW main event of this year...More?

CM Punk on The Hot Clicks Podcast

With the WWE's Survivor Series taking place this Sunday and WWE 12 in stores on Tuesday, CM Punk joined the podcast (in person) to promote those events and talk about a variety of subject. To say Punk, a huge Cubs fan and a person who lives a straight-edge lifestyle, did not hold back his opinions on The Rock, Vince McMahon, The Miz, his near exit from the WWE and a slew of other topics would be an understatement. You can listen to the podcast (which contains strong language) here.

Rumor Mill - WWE Changing Survivor Series Plan

WWE has changed plans with The Rock and John Cena at Survivor Series as they originally had a traditional Survivor Series match planned with the two on the same team. That was changed to The Rock and John Cena vs. The Miz and R-Truth in part because officials felt that putting Rock and Cena in a traditional 5-on-5 match would take too much attention off them going into their WrestleMania 28 match.

Is WWE Out of Control?

Questions continue to swirl after Triple H's controversial assault on two helpless former WWE employees, and the entire WWE locker room is demanding answers.

Miz and Truth viciously assaulted all three main event competitors, as well as the helpless cameramen andGame attacks referees, at which point, the COO, Laurinaitis, and nearly the entire WWE locker room charged the Cell, looking for a way to stop the brutal attack. After several long minutes spent waiting for Triple H to actually take control of the situation, a WWE official finally used a pair of bolt cutters to slice through the Cell's lock, allowing R-Truth and Miz to be subdued by law enforcement officials.

And then it happened.

As Truth and Miz were lead up the ramp by police officers, the COO – perhaps frustrated at his inability to take charge – snapped, and physically assaulted the two handcuffed former Superstars until he, too, was physically restrained and pulled from the melee.

What was the COO thinking when he attacked two helpless former employees?...More?

Does the “H” stand for "hypocrite"?

After being fired by WWE COO Triple H for attacking a WWE official, Mike Mizanin, formerly known as WWE Superstar “The Miz,” lashed out on Twitter with a list of hypocritical charges against his former boss, citing that Triple H was, in fact, guilty of the same crimes for which he fired Mizanin. (FULL STORY)

But attacking officials are not the only times that The Game has defied authority. As a WWE Superstar, Triple H’s rebellious actions have always managed to find a way under the microscope of commissioners, general managers and even the chairman of the board. WWE.com looks back at three such instances throughout The Cerebral Assassin’s career.

One of Triple H’s earliest instances of defiance came on May 19, 1996 at a WWE Live Event at Madison Square Garden. At the time, the WWE COO was a member of the infamous locker room group known as “The Kliq,” which also included Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), and Diesel (Kevin Nash). Hall and Nash were about to part ways with WWE, before defecting to WCW, and the four Superstars – noted pairs of in-ring enemies - orchestrated a going away party in the middle of the ring, complete with hugs, handshakes, and a basic disrespect for the night’s match results. This incident, known as “The Curtain Call” was a direct slap in the face of WWE management – the first of many to highlight Triple H’s career.

The Game’s battle against authority continued as he and Shawn Michaels formed D-Generation X in 1997. Neither Superstar would bow down to WWE management, specifically then-commissioner Sgt. Slaughter. HBK and Triple H dubbed the former WWE Champion “Sgt. Slobber,” and mocked him by wearing protective windshield wiper masks while he berated them in the middle of the ring. Further insult came on December 22, 1997 when Slaughter ordered then-WWE and European Champion Michaels to battle Triple H for the European Title. As the match began, HBK simply laid down for The Game who comically ran the ropes before pinning Michaels to win the title and make a mockery of the commissioner.

The very core of D-Generation X is rooted in breaking the rules. When Triple H and HBK reformed DX in 2006, it was because of their treatment at the hands of a tyrannical Mr. McMahon. To fight back, on June 26, 2006 Triple H entered the ring dressed as Mr. McMahon and proceeded to make a complete mockery of The Chairman and his family. The Cerebral Assassin’s ultimate display of disrespect came in making fun of Mr. McMahon’s performance of “Stand Back” at the 1987 Slammy Awards.

So, is former WWE Superstar The Miz is on to something? Can Triple H really maintain control of WWE as COO if his past is filled with moments of the same rebellious antics he’s now forced to condemn?

Video: The Real Reason Miz Got Fired - Hypocrisy

The Miz, in-character, continued his anti-Triple H ranting during his satellite radio show Wednesday, complaining about Hunter being a "hypocrite" for "firing" him and R-Truth last Monday on Raw. On the "1st and Awesome" fantasy football radio show, Miz poked holes in Hunter's storyline explanation for the "firings" on Raw, but stopped short of vowing to do anything about it. Last weekend, Miz and Truth extended the angle by "crashing" WWE house shows, but were not on Monday's Raw. Miz's two-minute rant on Hunter from his new YouTube page is below.
