KYDA Pro Wrestling at Career Day

It was career day at Metz Middle School in Manassas on Tuesday and 60 professionals came to share some of their “real world” experience.

Firefighters, police officers, business owners and even professional wrestlers showed up just after 9 a.m., each of them escorted to their own classroom full of 7th and 8th grade students full of questions.

“One of my favorite was ’do you have health insurance?’” said James A. Zaveski, owner of KYDA Pro Wrestling. “I thought it was a great question because everyone always asks about how much you make, but never about benefits.” Zaveski is a former Manassas Park high school counselor turned business owner.

“I think the main thing here is to tell these kids that even though they may not want to be wrestlers, there is the account that helps the wrestler out, there is the business manager that promotes the wrestler. It’s important they never give up on their dreams,” said Zaveski...More?

Judging the Gold Standard

Is Shelton Benjamin really faced with a glass ceiling, or is it his own shortcomings that are keeping him from the promise his athleticism warrants? This week's Thoughts From The Top Rope seeks to find out...More?

The New Shawn Michaels?

I read somewhere, probably back in December, that the reason why Brian Kendrick got a shiny new bodyguard, was so that WWE creative could start grooming him to be the new Shawn Michaels.

At first glance, the two have similar characteristics. Both had fairly successful tag-team careers, and Kendrick still seems to, albeit aided by a monster of a bodyguard name Ezekiel Jackson, much like HBK's Diesel in the 90's.

Both have fairly high-flying tendencies with their repertoire of moves as well. Kendrick has tried to add more substantial moves, but so far has faltered, much like HBK did in the early part of his career

So here's where I put my foot down. Kendrick can't be the new HBK, because there is a better option on every front.

His name? "The Shaman of Sexy," John Morrison...More?

Update on Lex Luger's Health

Lex Luger has had a rough time over the last few years with his heath taking a major turn for the worse in 2008 when he was paralyzed in both arms and both legs after suffering a spinal stroke. Since then he has recovered considerably and can now get around some days without the use of crutches or cane. He still has issues with his hands which has made dialing a phone or gripping things difficult. He plans to have another carpal tunnel surgery soon, hoping that it will improve his hands.

Huge Raw Next Week

On the next Raw, Stephanie McMahon has arranged for Randy Orton to go head-to-head with The Phenom himself, Undertaker.

CM Punk will be defending his WWE Intercontinental Title against William Regal as Regal has used the rematch clause.

Ric Flair will be on next week's live RAW. By the looks of things they're setting up something with Flair, Chris Jericho and WrestleMania.
