Halfway to Hell

Remember that very first classic encounter between Undertaker and Shawn Michaels? Or thinking Mick Foley was dead after he fell off the top of the structure and through an announce table?

What about the violence of Foley v Triple H, which featured flaming barbed wire, or the 47-minute all-out war between Hunter and Michaels?

Those were phenomenal matches and among the best Vince McMahon's company has ever showcased.

But the very first WWE Hell In A Cell dedicated pay-per-view - which used the gimmick for all three main events - sadly fell flat...More?

McDevitt vs. Muchnick

In an attempt to promoted his forth-coming book about the Benoit murder/suicide, Irvin Muchnick is printing e-mails he receives from the WWE's outside counsel Jerry McDevitt. Muchnick says he is doing this to show the WWE's displeasure with his allegations that the WWE had anything to do with Benoit's death.

One of the emails reads as follows:

"Dear Mr Muchnick: Typically, the WWE has ignored your so-called 'reporting' and associated attempts to promote your upcoming book seeking to cash in on the murders committed by Chris Benoit last summer. Perhaps you have confused WWE's disregard of you as a license to print increasingly bizarre and defamatory statements regarding the WWE."

"He is a quack," McDevitt tells the Am Law Daily, adding that Muchnick had to retract his claim that the WWE's waited two weeks to respond to reports from Albany prosecutors that certain wrestlers were using performance enhancing drugs. Muchnick later admitted the WWE had acted within a day of learning the wrestlers' names...More?

Update on Jeff Jarrett's Current TNA Status & TV Return

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Jeff Jarrett's TNA future is still being debated, and that TNA President Dixie Carter is expected to be the one that makes the final decision as to what is going to happen with Jarrett. At this point, Jarrett is working from home, helping to promote TNA events such as the Australian tour coming up in 2010/

Wrestlezone.com is reporting that it appears as if things between Jarrett and Kurt Angle have smoothed over considerably with sources claiming that both Jarrett and Karen Angle were very supportive of Kurt during his recent situation with Trenesha Biggers, aka Rhaka Khan. In light of this, it seems inevitable that Jarrett will return to TNA TV at some point down the line.

Predictions on Future Leadership at WWE

The past few weeks have actually given me hope for the future of World Wrestling Entertainment. Not because the shows or the wrestlers or the storylines have been better. They haven't. But I figure the future couldn't be any worse. Sooner or later, the McMahon family will have to send Patriarch Vince off to the nut hutch. At that point, Stephanie McMahon Levesque becomes the new President of WWE. Let's face it, Stephanie will be much better at that job than she is as head of Creative.

With Stephanie bumped up the ladder, Triple H becomes the leading candidate to take over the WWE creative department. Hopefully, he'll have retired as a wrestler by then. I haven't always bee a big Triple H fan, but he sure knows a whole lot more about professional wrestling than the person he would be replacing. There is also a better likelihood of Stephanie listening to Hunter than there is of Vince McMahon listening to, well, anybody on his creative team. So take heart, wrestling fans. It will happen.

Hell In A Cell: DX-perience Prevails

Perhaps realizing how formidable the task was that lay before them, Legacy attempted to secure the upper hand even before the opening bell, attacking DX as they made their way to the ring. Once the dust had settled, Legacy had dragged Michaels into the cell alone, locking The Game outside. After watching helplessly as his partner was being punished, Triple H had seen enough. He retrieved a pair of bolt cutters, broke into the cell and devastated Rhodes & DiBiase. The earlier attack seemed only to enrage Triple H & Michaels, who sought – and found – revenge once inside the 20-ft. tall, steel structure when they locked out DiBiase in order to punish Rhodes.

While DX capitalized on their experience and taught The Legacy a lesson they’ll likely never forget, there’s little doubt that with their effort, Rhodes & DiBiase earned a great deal of grudging respect from many in the WWE Universe.
