Undertaker Injury Update

The wrestlingobserver.com reports that The Undertaker, 45, suffered a broken orbital bone and nose in his 5/25 match against Rey Mysterio on 5/25 in Cleveland. In addition, Undertaker also suffered a concussion.

It is believed the injury occurred from taking the seated senton move by Mysterio during the match that aired this past week on Smackdown. At this point, it is considered 50/50 if Undertaker can compete at the 6/20 Fatal Four way match.

Due to the Undertaker's absence, Mysterio, who is scheduled for a vacation, has been called back to action. If Taker can not compete at the PPV, it is likely that Mysterio would take Undertaker's spot.

Rumor Mill - Sheamus/Triple H Feud

The word coming from sources within WWE is that the plan as of right now is to have Sheamus win the WWE Championship at WWE Fatal 4 Way because the company wants to book him as a strong champion heading into the SummerSlam pay-per-view event. The idea for a possible Sheamus vs. Triple H match at the event is currently being pitched as well.

Bret Hart Comments on Being Raw GM

RAW General Manager Bret Hart wrote the following on Facebook this weekend:

"My life took an interesting turn this week when I decided to forfeit the United States championship for the simple reason that at this point in my life, I'm in no position to defend it on a regular basis (and God knows a host of other reasons) but it was a beautiful moment all the same. So when the WWE offered me the chance to become the new general manager of Raw, I jumped at the opportunity. I expect this will be one of the most interesting job titles I've ever had and I can assure all my WWE fans that I will do my best to be the most interesting and creative GM since the inception of general managers. As a note of interest, I'd like to say how proud I've been of Vicki Guerrero the last couple of years for doing the amazing job she's done playing this role on Smackdown. I'm only learning it after one week that's it's a much more challenging role than people might realize and I can only hope to do as good of a job as she did."

Jim Ross: “A Decision Has Been Made”

"I have worked out what we believe to be a win/win, employee agreement with WWE and will remain with the company that I have been with essentially since 1993 when I debuted at Wrestlemania 9. (To celebrate this occasion, as I'm writing this I'm wearing a toga.)"

"Going forward, I will be focusing on a variety of talent relations matters, essentially as a consultant, of which will not require weekly travel. I will be visiting FCW in Tampa on a regular basis to observe the development of the young men and women who, I hope, all want to headline Wrestlemania some day. This area of the company has always been of particular interest to me including when we opened developmental areas years ago in Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Southern California. Many of the WWE's biggest stars of this generation came from those areas."

"I will not be returning to weekly, WWE TV or their monthly PPV's. However, being involved with other WWE broadcast products is a possibility. A few opportunities have been discussed."...More?

Wrestling Warrior Kaval Battles in FCW

What you see is exactly what you get with the wrestling warrior Kaval. He is pro wrestler with martial artist tendencies. Kaval is no-nonsense, experienced, tough, and the clean shaven head gives him a more menacing look.

Trained by TNA star Homicide and ECWA's Jim Kettner, Kaval has paid his dues, since debuting in 1998 in the Northeast. He's competed as Low Ki and Senshi (Japanese for warrior) in TNA, Ring of Honor, East Coast Wrestling Association, Jersey All Pro, Pro Wrestling Zero One, Pro Wrestling Noah, New Japan Pro Wrestling, before inking a developmental deal with WWE in 2008.

With a new name, the 5-8, 170-pound Kaval began training at Florida Championship Wrestling, WWE's feeder group in Tampa.

``The experience in FCW has been great,'' Kaval said. ``As for me, my beginning, being from the New York area, starting in LIWF, advancing through the ECWA and moving onto doing a lot of things on the indies, going to Japan and TNA, the road has been long for me, but I get here [FCW), and it's another challenge. Chuck Palumbo Makes Charity Ride

Last May, former WWE wrestler and El Cajon resident Chuck Palumbo teamed up with The Horse Backstreet Choppers magazine for an eight-day cross-country charity ride from San Diego to Rockingham, North Carolina. Palumbo spent ten weeks building the chopper he would ride across the country at his CP Kustoms shop in La Mesa. A week before his departure, Vet Fest drew about 500 people out to a rented warehouse at Jackson and Navajo in San Carlos for the unveiling of the bike, an opportunity to buy $25 raffle tickets to win the bike, and a show by Palumbo’s classic-rock cover band Three Spoke Wheel.

The ride was inspired by Palumbo’s younger brother Chris, a helicopter pilot who was gunned down in Iraq and awarded a Silver Star upon his return to the U.S.

A documentary of the trip will be released this summer. Every 60 Miles, titled after the frequency that Palumbo had to refuel his small chopper tank, will feature an original soundtrack by Palumbo and his guitar teacher Greg Vaughan (Danyavaad). “When you’re riding a bike without rear suspension, you need to stop every 60 miles anyways.”...More?

Chris Benoit: The Aftermath

RF Video presents Chris Benoit: The Aftermath. Hear first hand the reaction from the wrestling superstars that knew both Chris Benoit and Nancy. Legendary names in pro wrestling weigh in on the issues that arouse following the tragedies and all of the events that took place.

Family Legacy Important to Rikishi Fatu

Solofa Fatu has been known by many names in wrestling circles. He's been a Headshrinker, "made a difference," been a Sultan, and made an "ass" of himself as his most famous character, Rikishi. As part of the legendary Samoan Anoa'i family he is part of a rich wrestling history.

Being part of a huge wrestling family has its attractions, but it also seems to attract tragedy. There are many comparisons between the Anoa'i family and the Hart Family in triumphs and tragedies. Most recently for Fatu himself, it was the loss of his brother Eddie, who wrestled as Umaga, on December 4, 2009.

"With or without wrestling, any time you lose a loved one in your family is very difficult. Unfortunately, it had to be, you know, God's time is God's time," he started...More?

McMahon Rival Expected to Bow Out of Conn. Senate Race

Former U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons is expected to withdraw from Connecticut's U.S. Senate race, days after pledging to challenge wrestling executive Linda McMahon in a Republican primary.

Simmons has scheduled a news conference Tuesday in New London to make an announcement on the future of his Senate campaign. A Republican with knowledge of Simmons' plans tells The Associated Press that the one-time front-runner in the Senate race is expected to announce he's withdrawing.

Simmons narrowly lost the GOP nomination Friday to McMahon. Shortly afterward, he said he would challenge McMahon in the August primary, reversing an earlier promise not to wage a primary if he did not receive the GOP endorsement.

Ric Flair Comments on Retirement and Shawn Michaels

"Remember that it was WWE that decided to retire Ric Flair. Obviously it was very emotional for myself, Shawn, and my fans. It is not easy to do this for as long as I have and then all of a sudden quit because the company you work for tells you to. I’m not bashing WWE as I have great respect for the group. I believe that the whole set up was beautiful and they did a great job with the hall of fame ceremony and the goodbye on Raw afterward. But I am not ready to sit at home and build a garden. I feel great, I work hard, and I am ready to keep going."

"The athlete in question is the only person that truly knows if they are ready to retire. No one else .. The only one that truly will know the right time to stop is myself .. I was provided a unique opportunity and had a blast going to Australia. I feel I have a lot more to offer and that is what I am doing. I love TNA and feel that they have the right tools to be something huge. I am having just as much fun now as I did in the ’80s and that is saying something."

Bret Hart Comments On His U.S Title Win

"How cool it is to be back in Toronto where I have so many fond memories. I'm presently in town trying to catch up with a million friends and still trying to shake off my reoccurring disbelief that I'm the United States Champion for the fifth time. I ask myself if that means that I'm the best wrestler in the United States? Does this somehow top the Hart Foundation's 19-second win over The Bolsheviks at WrestleMania VI? Does this top peeling off a Tie Domi jersey and Hitmen jersey to reveal a steel chest plate that knocked Bill Goldberg out cold? I also find it oddly amusing that I won the US title in Canada."

The Ultimate Warrior Hates on The Million Dollar Man

The Ultimate Warrior wrote a long, hateful blog aimed at Ted DiBiase over at UltimateWarrior.com:

"On the Self-Destruction DVD, no one showed more a face of hatred than you. There's one particular moment where it practically oozes off the screen. An yet, you claim to live by beliefs that allow for no hatred of any man...You make your living preaching this belief to others."

"What it all really boils down to is jealousy. Envy. I did better in the business than you, walked away from it on my own terms, with all my integrity intact...More?

WWE NXT Results: Party Crashed

Daniel Bryan defiantly defended his time on WWE NXT, stating he was a “self-made man” who wasn’t “invented by the WWE machine.”

“WWE needs to pick guys who are the best people for this job and the best person for this job is me,” Bryan said.

The former independent star called out the WWE Pros and said they know just how good he is. He also called out WWE NXT announcer Michael Cole, who had been berating Daniel Bryan all season. A very confident Bryan called Cole “a parrot with Vince McMahon in his ear telling him what to say” then approached the announce table with an intense determination. Daniel Bryan unabashedly attacked Cole with a slap across the face, referred to him as “a poor man’s replacement for J.R.,” then knocked Cole to the ground and began stomping him until WWE Officials and host Matt Striker pulled Bryan off of Cole.

The latest Pros’ Poll results were revealed, and NXT Rookie Darren Young was the fourth competitor eliminated from WWE NXT. Full results.

WWE Exec Calls TNA "Blood, Guts & Gore"

WWE COO Donna Goldsmith criticized TNA's programming during a media & technology conference yesterday, saying TNA is "blood, guts, and gore" compared to their toned-down, PG product.

"If you look at another program called TNA, which is a wrestling program on Spike, that is blood and guts and gore. We are not going there, nor I would say have we ever been to that degree that they are," Goldsmith said at the J.P. Morgan Global Media, Technology, and Media Conference in Boston. "We decided no blood and if someone gets hit by accident, we will stop the match if we have to and take care of them. Those decisions (to market WWE TV as PG) were made consciously."

Goldsmith said WWE made the change to PG to help them draw revenue across the board by being able to establish more partnerships that would make money for the company.

"We spoke to the writers, we spoke to Vince (McMahon), we spoke to public relations and asked if we can still keep the programming cool and edgy while taking it down a notch," Goldmsith said. "Our writers, yeah, they were challenged a little bit, but they said, 'We can do it. We can make this program just as good as it's been.' They started to take the program in a little bit of a different direction."

Goldsmith said they've had potential partners come back and want to work with WWE, including 7-Eleven with another summer promotion and Burger King with a "global Kid's Meal program" for the first-time ever...More?

Former U.S. Attorney Kevin O’Connor Backs Linda McMahon

The Wrath of Linda McMahon

Raymond Hernandez's story on how Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has repeatedly overstated his military service in the Vietnam era -- he joined the Marine Reserves but never served in combat -- is the kind of political meteorite that alters everything in an election that was seen as safe for the Democrats. GOP strategist Kevin Rennie gives the credit to Linda McMahon, the multimillionaire co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment, whose campaign had been covered as a novelty since Blumenthal got in the race and led her 2-1 in the polls. Rennie salutes what McMahon has done, up to and including the video of Blumenthal talking to veterans in Norwalk, Conn., that really makes it ugly.

The Blumenthal Bombshell comes at the end of more than 2 months of deep, persistent research by Republican Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign. It gave the explosive Norwalk video recording to The Times. This is what comes of $16 million, a crack opposition research operation and an opponent who, in the words of the president Blumenthal worked for on a draft deferment, who gave them the sword...More?

Linda McMahon Puts Connecticut AG in an Embarrassing Full Nelson

At a ceremony honoring veterans and senior citizens who sent presents to soldiers overseas, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut rose and spoke of an earlier time in his life.

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008….

There was one problem: Mr. Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

In 1970, with his last deferment in jeopardy, he landed a coveted spot in the Marine Reserve, which virtually guaranteed that he would not be sent to Vietnam. He joined a unit in Washington that conducted drills and other exercises and focused on local projects, like fixing a campground and organizing a Toys for Tots drive.

New U.S. Champion

During the no disqualification, no count-out bout for the United States Title, it seemed as if half of Canada had charged the ring. Before beloved Canadian Bret Hart battled The Miz, the U.S. Champion employed enforcers William Regal and Vladimir Kozlov to watch the ring. To combat the duo, Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty fought them off. During the melee, Chris Jericho and Miz entered the ring and surrounded The “Hit Man.” The Hart family, however, had the back of one of their own.

When Miz attempted to lock the Sharpshooter onto Hart, The Hart Dynasty leveled the loudmouth, allowing The “Hit Man” to lock in his signature maneuver himself for the win and championship gold.

WWE Stock Analysis

It's true that, more often than not, high insider ownership equals excellent shareholder returns. The WWE guys maintain a significant ownership position in the company. Who knew wrestling impresario Vince McMahon had this much staying power - or the chops to run a major sports business and do a good job. This is one solid company with loads of cash to payout 175% of its earnings in the form of dividends. Its 8.48% yield is one of the highest in the consumer goods sector and virtually debt-free. Most impressive is McMahon's compensation. He receives no stock awards or bonuses and just under $900,000 in annual salary. He's apparently satisfied with his 59% economic interest and 86% voting interest. Vince isn't going anywhere and that's a good thing for shareholders.

Fan Comment on the Current State of Professional Wrestling & Triple H's Babyface Run

The following is a comment from a fan on bleacherreport.com in response to questioning what brought on Triple H's current run as a babyface:

Every article in this community is someone complaining and b*tching about what they wanna change and how much things suck. Why they still watch is beyond me. People need to just accept the fact that WWE is PG. The old HHH is gone. Austin and Rock are gone. DX is gone. There is nothing wrong with Triple H. The man is in his 20+ year of this business. 90% of the wrestlers from the attitude era are gone, but HHH is still here, and still worthy of the main event. The man can retire 100 times over, buy a house in Tahiti, and spend time with his wife and kids if he wanted. He could also take some cake job behind the scenes making a ton of loot if he wanted. But he is still here, traveling all over the world, continuing to pound on his body, and all anyone can do is complain. Triple H is of a dying breed, he is one of the last guys from the old school in WWE along with Taker, and both of them will be gone soon. Enjoy this legend while you still can...

This comment sums up my feelings about professional wrestling and Triple H. If you don't like it or him, don't watch and don't complain about it.

Parker Posey Comments on Triple H's Role in "Inside Out"

In “Inside Out,” Posey plays Claire Small, the wife of high-strung, low-level mobster Jack Small (Michael Rapaport). However, she has never stopped loving her former beau, AJ (Triple H), a parolee determined to go straight after serving 13 years for the murder of his abusive step-father.

“Our characters were all friends in high school,” she said. “Basically, Triple H went to jail and Michael Rapaport moved in on him. I was alone, but I still have feelings for Triple H. My husband wants to continue in the criminal world, but Triple H learned how to make pickles in prison and wants to capitalize on that.”

While the premise sounds humorous, Posey said the film helps display a number of sides of the former WWE champion.

“He’s a sweetheart,” she said. &
