WWE Teases Triple H’s “Injuries” Are More Serious, Big Show “Faces Arrest”

WWE “canceled” this week’s kayfabe Triple H interview with Michael Cole to sell his injuries at the hands of The Big Show.

Instead of the normal sit down interview, WWE posted a video report by Cole where he played up current storylines. In-character, Cole said sources reveal that Hunter’s injuries could be more serious than just a concussion and he may have a “broken jaw” and could face having his mouth wired shut. He said Big Show could face criminal charges in the state of Pennsylvania for “criminal trespass” and “assault.” Obviously, this is all kayfabe.

Update on lawsuit involving WWE and Big Show

WWE lost a motion to move a lawsuit filed by a former producer to federal court last week. The suit, brought by former producer Andrew Green, names WWE and Big Show (a/k/a Paul Wright) as defendants. The suit claims Wright attacked Green without provocation during a backstage interview and that he suffered emotional and physical damage from the episode, which was later posted on the WWE website. The ruling by a US District Court judge means the case will be heard in an Arizona court. You can read more here.

WWE Celebrating CT Special Olympics Partnership with Several Events This Week

This week, WWE will celebrate its official partnership with Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT), an organization that provides year-round sports training and competitions for close to 15,000 athletes of all ages with intellectual disabilities and unified partners throughout the state.

WWE’s more than 700 employees headquartered in Connecticut will volunteer, become a coach or work one-on-one with athletes at Special Olympics Connecticut events in the area. In addition, WWE will make an annual financial contribution to the charitable organization.

WWE will also be a presenting sponsor of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, Special Olympics Connecticut’s largest grassroots, year-round fundraising and public awareness vehicle. As part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run initiative, more than 1,500 officers and athletes will run and carry the “Flame of Hope” across the state Wednesday through Friday.

The Torch Run will stop at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Conn., Friday and will feature special guests WWE COO Triple H, Executive Vice President of Creative Stephanie McMahon, Superstar Mark Henry, Special Olympics executives and athletes, and local dignitaries. The final leg of the run will end at the opening ceremonies for the 2013 Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, which WWE will be part of.

“WWE will bring great joy and strength to Special Olympics Connecticut. WWE’s commitment to inspiring respect for all people and supporting Special Olympics Connecticut will help empower athletes of all ages and abilities to make great achievements and be recognized for their accomplishments,” Special Olympics Connecticut President Beau Doherty said.

WWE’s Big Show, Henry, The Bella Twins and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter will take part in the celebrations surrounding the 2013 Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games in New Haven throughout the weekend.

“WWE is proud to support the Special Olympics Connecticut mission to inspire inclusion and respect for all people,” WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said. “WWE, its Superstars and more than 700 employees, look forward to being part of their important events and activities across our home state.”

Update On Lawsuit Filed Against WWE & The Big Show

Earlier this week, WWE petitioned for the lawsuit brought against them by a former Digital content producer to be moved to a federal court. WWE attorneys argued that because the video revolves around a video that was posted on WWE.com, it would fall under federal law, not state.

The lawsuit was brought up against WWE & The Big Show by Andrew Green, who alleges that another producer to him to get an interview with Big Show during a January 27th TV taping at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ. According to Green, Show intiatially refused to do the interview, until Green told him that WWE senior VP Eric Pankowski wanted it done.

It was alleged in response that Big Show stated with the use of profanely indecent language that if Green wanted an interview, he'd give one and to turn on the camera. It adds that Show became irate after that, curisng at Green, where it was caught on tape. He claims that Big Show asked to redo it, which he obliged. Green allages that Triple H ordered a third retake, because the second lacked the emotion of the first.

Green's complaint claims that the first video was listed on WWE.com, and that his interactions with Big Show made him afraid to keep working with the company.

Green also allages that WWE has not paid him for his involvement in the video, which the company shot down by filing a copy of the written release signed by Green when he was employed there. The written release would show that he gave up intellectual rights to anything he helped create and/or was involved in.

The case has not yet been assigned to a federal judge.

Big Show & WWE Being Sued By Former Employee

Courthouse News Service is reporting that Andrew Green is suing The Big Show and WWE in Maricopa County (AZ) Court, claiming that Show choked him and hit him in the face during an interview for WWE.com. Green, who worked for the website at the time as a "producer", claims that another producer told him to get an interview with Show on January 27 at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ.

His claim is that Show initially refused to do the interview until Green told him that then-WWE senior vice president Eric Pankowski wanted it done.

According to the complaint, "In response, Big Show stated with the use of profanely indecent language that if Green wanted an interview then he would give him one, and to turn on the camera." It adds that Big Show became irate after that, cursing at Green and it was caught on tape for the interview. He claims that Show then asked to redo it, which he did. Green then claimed Triple H ordered a third retake because the second one lacked the emotion of the first (when Show was legitimately upset according to the suit).

The suit says that Pankowski said that the third interview lacked emotion, so they posted the original one. It was on the website until 1/29.

Green claims he was unable to continue working after Jan. 29 because "he was uncomfortable working around Big Show and the other wrestlers, nervous, and had 'a ton of anxiety' as a result of the attack."

Green also says in the complaint that WWE had previously "suspended or terminated Big Show's employment because of his behavior, including his engagement in violent and/or unlawful and/or improper activities outside of the wrestling venue."

Dave Scherer of pwinsider.com reports that he doesn't EVER remember that happening. You can read the full report here.

It's worth noting that Wight said in a radio interview on April 1 that he is no longer allowed to put his hands around people outside of the wrestling ring.

“WWE Superstars are not allowed to grab anyone by the neck, simulate chokeholds, or picking up,” Show said in his "legal voice" during a D.C. radio interview on April 1. This was based on the hosts wanting to do a chokeslam bit during the show. Show added, “I’ve gotten enough letters from our legal department, I don’t pick anybody up any more or fake Chokeslam."

Rumor Mill - RAW Main Event Leads To Creative Departure

Vince McMahon was reportedly a lot more hands-on with producing and scripting last night's RAW from Indianapolis. This was the first week since Eric Pankowski's departure and it's said that he wasn't missed last night and it was like he was never there.

What likely led to Pankowski's departure was having CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show compete in the Fatal 4 Way two weeks ago to earn the right to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29.

Everyone felt that the Fatal 4 Way was a bad idea. People told Pankowski it was a bad idea but he blew them off and went with it. No word yet why Vince McMahon approved it for TV.
