John Cena To Undergo Shoulder Surgery

WWE is reporting that John Cena will be heading to Birmingham, Alabama to undergo shoulder surgery.

Multiple sources are reporting that Cena is suffering from a torn rotator cuff.

Obviously, this surgery means that Cena will not be one of the participants at the upcoming Royal Rumble event this month. Unfortunately, it also means that Cena may also likely miss WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas as well, where it was reported that he would be facing The Undertaker; however, as of this report, there is no word on exactly how long Cena will be out of action.

Rumor Mill - WWE Teasing Return To Ring For Triple H And Winning United States Title

With ratings slumping for a couple months now, and with a lot of big-time superstars still out due to injuries, WWE may end up doing some things they didn’t expect to do. Big names have been brought back, Brock Lesnar‘s contract has been renegotiated for more dates, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Now, WWE is teasing that Triple H may not only return to the ring, but he may go after a mid-card title – the United States Championship.

Triple H hasn’t been full-time in the ring for a long time, but he still gets back in there time and again. It was expected that he was going to take on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 32 in a bit of a mentor vs. protege type thing, but Rollins is out for months due to a knee injury.

Still, Trips can still go in the ring, and it’s possible that fans may be seeing more of him soon.

WWE.com put out a list of the “Top 10 Things We Want To See In 2016,” and one has to believe that many of them are hints more than just dreams. The first one is about Triple H and how he has never won the United States Championship, but he should.

The writers would like to see Triple H win the new Grand Slam which has been won by six people, and that’s capturing all four titles currently offered in WWE.

For many many years in WCW, the United States Championship is one that was won by some true legends including Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Harley Race, and many others. It has a lot of history and has truly been something that has been held by the greatest.

Triple H is not one of them.

Over his 20-year career in WWE, Triple H has won his fair share of titles. Actually, he’s won a ton of them and had a lot of other accomplishments as well, as his Wikipedia page displays.

WWF/E Undisputed Championship – 8 times
World Heavyweight Championship – 5 times
WWF/E Intercontinental Championship – 5 times
WWF/E European Championship – 2 times
WWE Tag Team Championship – 1 time with Shawn Michaels
World Tag Team Championship – 2 times: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels
1997 King of the Ring
2002 Royal Rumble winner

John Cena has truly taken the United States Championship and made it mean something again over the course of the last year. Cena is a main event talent that held the title for a long time and defended it weekly with his U.S. Title Open Challenge.

Now, it’s around the waist of Alberto Del Rio, who is another former world champion and a main event talent. Having Triple H come back into the ring to challenge for the belt, whoever may hold it at the time, could be a big draw.

Each professional wrestling organization has its own version of a Triple Crown or Grand Slam, and at one point or another, Triple H had won what version WWE had available. The current version is one that he can honestly win easily because he has already nabbed three of the four titles.

One interesting storyline could come to light in the coming months, especially with plans for WrestleMania 32 recently being scrapped and WWE starting from scratch. If John Cena continues his feud with Del Rio and wins the United States Title back, wouldn’t it be a little old-school fun for Triple H to take on the WWE hero for it?

Triple H is the subject of a lot of rumors lately, and that includes him winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event WrestleMania 32. Now, WWE wants to see him win the United States Championship, and it sounds crazy, but it’s a new year and anything is possible.

John Cena Speaks Out On His Current WWE Hiatus, Responds to Fan Criticism That He “Holds Everyone Down”, Talks His WWE Future, More

WWE star John Cena, who is currently on hiatus from WWE as he films the new FOX reality show “American Grit”, recently spoke to Zap2It.com about his decision to take time off WWE TV to film the show.

While Cena has been the face of WWE for at least the past decade, he is no stranger to fan criticism that his main event presence does not allow new stars to emerge in WWE, and that he overshadows everyone else in the company. On that particular subject Cena had the following to say:

“I’ve been a cornerstone of WWE programming since 2002. That’s a long time, it’s more than 10 years. So much so that a portion of our audience has direct complacency with me. ‘Man, Cena holds everybody down. He doesn’t give the new guys a chance.'”

“From a company perspective, as you know I hold it very near and dear to my heart, the dance floor is open, boys. I’m gone, let’s see who steps up. And I like that. As much as I want to try to distance myself or as much as someone who views me would try to distance myself from WWE, I’m never going to go.”

Details On John Cena's New TV Project With FOX

WWE announced the following today:

John Cena and Fox team up for 'American Grit'

WWE Superstar John Cena is joining forces with Fox and Leftfield Pictures for a brand-new and unique 10-episode reality competition. "American Grit' will split 16 of the country's toughest men and women into four teams as they work together to face a variety of military-grade and survival-themed challenges.

Cena has recruited an elite group of mentors from the nation's most exclusive military units that will push these civilians beyond their limits. These mentors, known as "The Cadre," include Rorke Denver, Noah Galloway, Tawanda "Tee" Hanible and Nick "The Reaper" Irving. These real-life heroes represent diverse backgrounds and top branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and will impart their first-hand knowledge and experiences to enable their teams to leave no one behind.

At the end of each episode, teams will have to overcome "The Circus" – a punishing, endurance-based obstacle course designed to break the weakest competitors. It is the ultimate test of strength, stamina, the human spirit and teamwork, because one team has the chance to win a $1 million dollar prize.

"The U.S Military is the epitome of resolve and dedication, which is why I am so excited to be a part of 'American Grit'," said Cena. "This show will not only be a challenging and fierce competition, but it will give viewers a glimpse into the perseverance and training of the men and women of the Armed Forces."

WWE and Cena have been longtime supporters of the United States Armed Forces. WWE's mission for the military is to support the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces both at home and abroad through programs that boost morale for soldiers on the field, offer free entertainment for active military at home, and provide workforce assistance for veterans.

"'American Grit' is a bold, aspirational competition series that aligns with the spirit of the Fox unscripted brand," said David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. "The team at Leftfield and the incredible John Cena have created a series built on the pillars of determination, dedication and strength that we know will resonate with our audience. John is not only a phenomenal athlete but a motivational force, who inspires fans around the world, and we are thrilled he is leading the charge."

"We are excited to be working with Fox and John Cena on a show that highlights the American spirit of competition, which is epitomized by Cena," said executive producer and CEO, Leftfield Entertainment, Brent Montgomery. "With John as their inspiration, our contestants will show viewers what happens when you swing for the fences with focus, commitment and teamwork."

Ryback Talks Being The Man To Replace John Cena, Interesting Conversation With Vince McMahon, More

Recently on The Steve Austin Show, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin interviewed WWE's Ryback. Ryback spoke about his relationship with Vince McMahon, believing he can replace John Cena, and the political nature of WWE.

When asked what his relationship with McMahon is like, Ryback said that he tries not to bother McMahon too much and only speaks with him when the subject matter is important.

"I don't want to go to him just all the time for everything and it has to have meaning behind it and it always has because I feel some people abuse that power. He's a busy man. He's pulled in a million different directions, so it's when I truly feel I need to talk to him about something".

One example of a time when Ryback felt it necessary to speak with McMahon directly was in 2012, prior to his return to WWE television in April of that year. According to Ryback, he felt like he was being underutilized, so he told McMahon that he did not need vignettes and that he would get himself over if WWE just put him out in front of the audience.

"I remember I said something about 'your company' to him at one point and at the end of the conversation, he goes, 'you'll be ready when you realize it is our company' and I said, 'our company' and I walked out of there. I was like, 'damn it,' thinking, 'how long do I have to wait now before I go talk to him and somehow sneak in 'our company'' and, luckily though, everything was on track, and, I believe, I debuted a week or two after that."

Alberto Del Rio Returns to WWE

WWE United States Champion John Cena had his US Open Challenge answered by Alberto Del Rio at tonight's Hell In a Cell pay-per-view in Los Angeles.

Cena's challenge was first met by Jack Swagger's theme song as Zeb Colter came out on a scooter. Zeb talked about how it was time for Cena to lose the title to someone who will do more with it than Cena ever did. He then introduced current AAA Mega Champion Alberto Del Rio.

The match ended clean with Del Rio capturing the WWE United States Title. This is his first run with the US Title.

WWE United States Champion John Cena suffered a broken nose on last night's RAW after taking a knee from WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the main event.

WWE Dr. Steve Daquino commented to WWE's website:

"As you can see on television last night, John suffered from a nasal fraction. He's got quite a bit of displacement, so we sent him over to the local emergency room so he can be evaluated by the ears, nose and throat doctor who's on call and see what can be done to properly repair it."

Interesting Character Details Revealed For 'Camp WWE' Adult Comedy On The WWE Network

We noted earlier this year that WWE Network would be premiering a "Camp WWE" animated comedy series in late 2015. Billed as WWE's "first adult comedy," the show is a partnership between WWE and Seth Green's Stoopid Buddy Stoodios.

We now have new details on the show as Executive Producers Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Eric Towner and John Harvatine and casting directors Ruth Lambert and Robert McGee have been looking for voice actors for the Camp WWE tapings. The tapings will be on August 9th in Los Angeles and those doing the voice work will be paid $906. Below are details on the characters:

* Vince McMahon - head of the camp and a 50 year old, big brash, ego-maniacal billionaire who is also a loving father that hates complaining campers and ass-kissing subordinates, but loves money and power and is always thinking of new ways to run down his competition. Vince's character is billed as "clearly, the most intelligent character on the show."

* Triple H - a 14-15 year old co-head camp counselor called Hunter. His character is tough and intimidating and he's a vindictive prankster who is always trying to get Vince's respect and always trying to win the love of Vince's daughter. Hunter considers himself to be highly intelligent "but still has a long way to go."

* Stephanie McMahon - the other co-head camp counselor, her character is also 14-15 years old. She has all of her father's traits - arrogant, ruthless and intimidating but lacks the maturity to get the job done. She tries to run the camp but runs to her father at the first sign of trouble. Stephanie's character is "beautiful, bold, confrontational and fearless."

* John Cena - an 8 year old camper described as the "most adorable, cherry, upbeat boy scout type" and a cute goody two-shoes who will do anything to make the other campers happy. Cena's character is also described as a polarizing figure at the camp who is sometimes used by others to do their dirty work. He annoys people because he never gives up at anything and is always trying to inspire others.

* The Undertaker - the scariest 8 year old you'll ever meet, a large gothic kid obsessed with mystical powers and death. His character is based on Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy and Satin from Game of Thrones.

* Big Show - a big, dumb and gentle 8 year old. Big Show's character is both childlike and monstrous in size but doesn't understand his own strength or the meaning of any word with more than two syllables. This was described as an 8 year old Homer Simpson.

* Mark Henry - the strongest 8 year old in the world, who loves food and girls. He brags that he knows everything about women but it comes out that he knows nothing about women.

* Hulk Hogan - this character will be nixed due to the racist comments controversy but they wanted Hogan's character to be a camp legend who is huge, powerful and charismatic but tired from being old and being from a different era, still trying to connect with people by calling them "brother."

* The Bella Twins - Brie Bella is the cunning, cute and sneaky one while Nikki Bella is the tomboy of the two and has the best body of all the women campers. They sometimes play "twin magic" on unsuspecting campers.

* Ric Flair - a camper who is 5 years older than everyone else that rides in limousines and jet planes. His character is cocky, always styling & profiling and is also the dirtiest kid in camp who shocks Vince with stories of his sexual conquests.

* R-Truth - Neither big or bright but is funny and drives people crazy with his misguided theories on why things are what they are. His character is also the most gullible camper who always gives you second and third-hand information that's almost impossible to believe.
