The Two Sin Caras Explained

WWE's two Sin Caras have been at war for more than ten years, you probably just didn't know it. The rivalry between WWE’s two Sin Caras, who collided like Mexican missiles at WWE Hell in a Cell last Sunday, truly began more than a decade ago, ironically over the right to use another ring name. According to both Sin Caras - who spoke exclusively to WWE.com - the dispute is one neither has forgotten, nor plan to until only one Sin Cara is left standing.

Update on Averno and Sin Cara

The belief is that Averno will come into WWE without his mask and one name thrown around for him is Rey Ortiz II.

Regarding Cara, there was concern about him after his pay-per-view match against Chavo Guerrero but WWE officials are determined to make him work because he has been promoted as the first talent brought on by Triple H. There has always been skepticism of Cara's inability to speak English and right now, he's mainly communicating through one of the WWE referees who is bi-lingual.

Averno has Signed with WWE, Expected to Drop his Mask at Jucio Final

Averno, one of the top rudos for CMLL for the half decade, has signed a contract with WWE. Averno is joining the US promotion to resume his feud with Misitco (now Sin Cara) as an unmasked heel. The plan was for him to lose his mask to La Mascara at June 17th’s Jucio Final, but plans may change as this news gets out. Multiple sources have confirmed to me both Averno’s signing and his imminent mask loss.

WWE has been unhappy with Sin Cara’s matches so far. Atypically, they’ve sought to resolve this by bringing in more agreeable opponents for him to work with. The story I was told is WWE went to Sin Cara and asked him that if he could work with anyone in the world, who would he most like to work with. Obviously, he picked his long time rival (and probably close friend) Averno. WWE earlier had Averno in for a tryout last October, the same tryout Mistico and Diamante were at (and which Durango Kid helped set up), but decided not to sign him at that time. Things have changed, and Averno secretly signed with WWE during their last tour of Mexico...More?

Buddy Rogers vs. Johnny Valentine - 1953

Johnny Valentine (born John Theodore Wisniski, September 22, 1928–April 24, 2001) was a professional wrestler with a career spanning almost three decades. He has been inducted into four halls of fame for his achievements in wrestling. Wisniski is the father of professional wrestler Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

He held numerous world champion and regional titles, including the NWA United States Championship and the World Heavyweight title. He had long running rivalries with Bobo Brazil, Pat O'Connor, Buddy Rogers, Antonio Rocca, Lou Thesz, Harley Race, The Sheik, Wahoo McDaniel, Fritz von Erich, Bruno Sammartino, Johnny Powers, Antonio Inoki and Jack & Jerry Brisco. He alternated between being a villain and a hero during the Golden Era in the 1940s through 1960s of wrestling.

In 1975, he was injured in a plane crash; he suffered a broken back and was forced to retire from wrestling. He worked briefly as a manager before retiring altogether. He suffered from several health problems during his career, which worsened considerably after a fall in 2000. He died the following year.

Lucha VaVOOM are Bringing their Mexican Wrestling Show on the Road

If you are a fan of American wrestling, which has devolved into little more than testosterone-driven, male-approved soap operas, then have I got a hot tip for you, dear reader. Leave the WWE and Vince McMahon in the rear view and take a gander a Lucha VaVOOM.
