Rumor Mill - The Reason WWE Buried Chris Jericho's 'Highlight Reel'
Last night's edition of the Highlight Reel on RAW did not go well and WWE let the fans at home know it as Michel Cole and Jerry Lawler buried the segment. On air, Cole and Lawler were heard laughing, stating how bad the segment was and asking when it would end so they could go to commercial.
This was a case of Vince McMahon telling Cole and Lawler what to say through the headsets. When segments fall flat on TV and the audience doesn't respond, Vince has been known to bury the segment and those involved on air. Ths happened several months ago with a "Piper's Pit' segment.
Word is that Brad Maddox is the one that will most likely take the majority of the heat, as it was his part of the segment that most felt got awkward and embarrassing. Despite that, Triple H is very high on Maddox and he's the main reason he's featured on TV right now.

Rumor Mill - Ric Flair and The Miz
Ric Flair is currently booked for the January 21st WWE RAW from San Jose, California and the January 22nd SmackDown tapings in Sacramento. The Rock is also booked for those two shows. Flair will leave for All Japan Pro Wrestling right after the SmackDown tapings.
Flair is still working on a per-night deal with WWE but could be signing something more solid soon. Believe it or not, TNA has sent feelers to Flair about coming back to their company and apparently they have been doing this since before their lawsuit against WWE was dropped this week.
Regarding Flair’s segment with The Miz on Monday’s RAW, it was designed to endorse Miz as a new babyface and to set up Miz using the Figure Four as his new finishing move. When he found out, Flair joked to Miz, “I hope they let you beat people with it because I never did.”
Flair will likely be working with Miz again at next week’s WWE TV tapings.

Interview with The Miz
The Carroll County Times has a new article online featuring quotes from The Miz to promote next Saturday’s WWE TV tapings from the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Below are the highlights:
Hectic schedule as a WWE star:“That’s what I’ve asked for,” The Miz said in a phone interview while driving to Philadelphia. “I’ve asked to be a WWE Superstar, so to just sit here and complain about, ‘Oh, I never get a day off, I’m so tired.’ No. I want it. Give it to me. I want to be the biggest star WWE has ever created. So in order to do that I need to do everything.”
Main eventing Wrestlemania:“Anytime you are in the ring with the Rock or John Cena, you have to shine. You have to basically show what you got. And I think I did that,” he said. “So whenever I got the microphone and got to be able to talk to the Rock or John Cena, I think I stood my ground and I think by the end of it, people weren’t talking about the Rock or Cena, they were talking about the Miz. And I’m still talking about it to this day. The Miz retaining the WWE Championship, not once but twice, at WrestleMania 27. I mean, I made history that day. So I get to brag about that for the rest of my life and you will hear me brag about that for the rest of my life because it’s something I’m proud of.”
Turning babyface:“It’s kind of weird because I’ve done nothing different. I’m still the same exact cocky, arrogant, egotistical person I was before, it’s just now maybe the fans are starting to understand me and cheer me because, to me, I’ve never been a bad guy. I’ve always been a good guy,” he said. “I’ve done what I’ve had to do to win like everybody else in the world, you know, when you want a job or a promotion, you go after it. And that’s what I’m doing, I’m going after what I want. So that’s what I’ve been doing and now I think the fans are actually getting behind it, saying, you know what, I like this guy. I know somebody like him. I’m a guy people can get behind if they understand me and I think they’re starting to understand me.”...More?

WWE Superstars Lay the SmackDown Aboard Stennis
Wrestlers from World Wrestling Entertainment visited sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Nov. 25.
The WWE superstars, which included Vince “Mr. McMahon” McMahon, Eve Torres, Layla El Barrami, Ronnie “R. Truth” Killings, and Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, were making their first visit to a Navy aircraft carrier.
“We’ve been to Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan so many times,” said McMahon, CEO and chairman of the WWE. “We wanted to do something different this year and this is awesome.”
While on board the wrestlers toured the ship and interacted with sailors along the way and observed flight operations as Navy jets roared on and off the flight deck.
“I was in awe of the young ages of the men and women who are turning these planes,” said Torres, the current WWE diva champion. “Everything operates like clockwork; it’s amazing.”
After flight operations, the wrestlers toured the ship’s navigation bridge and posed for photos with sailors.
“I’m excited,” said Seaman Elexus Rosechong from Dallas. “This is definitely one of the most memorable moments in my Navy career.”
“This was great for them to come out here and visit us,” said Lt. Rob Gordon, a pilot assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 14. “It was a good morale boost, especially for those sailors who are spending the holidays away from home.”

Q&A with Kofi Kingston
Consistently one of WWE's most popular performers, Ghana's Kofi Kingston has grown accustomed to defending championships in high-pressure situations. And even though the main event at this Sunday's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view at Philips Arena features CM Punk (Kingston's one-time tag team partner) defending the WWE Championship against the wrestling machine known as Ryback inside the the gigantic steel cage, Kingston's Intercontinental Championship defense against former WWE Champion the Miz has quickly become one of the event's marquee match-ups. Considering that the happy-go-lucky Kingston spent his formative WWE stages at the now-defunct McDonough-based developmental promotion known as Deep South Wrestling, Hell in a Cell is also an odd sort of homecoming for the high-flying superstar. As he prepares for a match that could help push him into the main event picture, Kingston discusses his Deep South training, his history with the Miz and the unpredictable nature of WWE that led to this renewed rivalry...More?

ABC Family & WWE Studios Tag Team For Holiday Movie With The Miz
ABC Family and WWE Studios are getting in the ring together for the first time with the TV movie Christmas Bounty. The two are developing the action comedy for a 2013 broadcast during the network’s 25 Days Of Christmas programming block. WWE wrestling champion The Miz will be one of the stars. Andrew Black, Vivian Lee, James Berg and Stan Zimmerman wrote the script. Set to start production early next year, the film follows an elementary school teacher who is forced to return to her former life as a bounty hunter to save the family business. The female lead has not been cast. The Miz, whose real name is Michael Mizanin, has been in front of the camera a lot this year: In April, he took over the lead role in WWE Studios’ Marine 3: Homeland from Randy Orton, and also starred in Queen Of The Ring. He started out a contestant on MTV’s The Real World: Back To New York in 2001 and appeared in other reality shows before landing a WWE contract.
