Twelfth Knight
In a history-making Fatal Four Way Elimination battle at Backlash, The Game defeated a trio of past and present WWE Champions – JBL, John Cena and, ultimately, Randy Orton – to claim his 12th World Title.
Ending the “Age of Orton’s” near seven-month reign, Triple H not only secured his spot at the top of sports-entertainment, the King of Kings reseated himself upon the illustrious WWE Championship throne – notwithstanding any argument from William Regal or any other Raw competitor. And, he did it by outlasting three veritably iconic WWE Superstars.
Second verse, same as the first
Edge promised on SmackDown that he would bring the World Heavyweight Championship back “where it belongs.” And coming into Backlash, Undertaker’s career record at the event wasn’t quite as impressive as his WrestleMania streak – 16-0 vs. 2-1-1. But just like WrestleMania XXIV, Backlash saw The Phenom notch a win at the expense of Edge, as The Deadman toppled the Rated-R Superstar for the second straight month to walk out of Baltimore still the World Heavyweight Champion...More?
Play It Again, Shawn
Theirs was a grudge born of resentment. After years of deeply-held mutual respect, Batista and Shawn Michaels had found themselves at each other’s throats thanks to a single note of Sweet Chin Music. Tonight at Backlash, their quarrel finally reached a crescendo, with HBK silencing The Animal in the end...More?
Confronting a serious issue
It was Laine's fifth concussion, the first coming in a snowboarding mishap when he was 12. Laine, his parents and doctors came to the same conclusion: With more and more information coming forward on the long-term effects of multiple concussions, football was no longer worth the risk.
But instead of putting the subject behind him, Laine was determined to learn more. He made sports-related concussions and their potential long-term effects the subject of his senior project. What he learned was pretty scary and he'll probably think about it the next time he loses his keys or can't remember a phone number...More?

Better Days, and Even the Candidates, Are Coming to WWE
For most of 2007, the reputation of World Wrestling Entertainment seemed to be in tatters, its ratings and share price staggering after a suicide-murder involving one of its biggest stars. This week, WWE managed something that Katie Couric and CBS couldn’t: host all three presidential candidates on its prime-time broadcast.
Monday’s show drew 4.97 million viewers, according to Nielsen, just a little under its 2008 average of 5.19 million. But the candidates were able to reach 1.45 million male viewers ages 18 to 34, just above the show’s average this year.
Those numbers represent a business turnaround for the WWE in the year after the death of one of its star wrestlers, Christopher Benoit...More?

JR Comments on Triple H
From J.R.'s Blog:
"HHH gets a tough rap without question. He stands up to the pressure well though, which is admirable. I know HHH’s father in law better than most and I can assure you that if HHH was merely average HHH would not be in main events. He’s there because he is good and has earned his spot."

Randy Orton Extras
Here are some quotes from Kevin Eck's interview with WWE champion Randy Orton:
People in WWE losing confidence in him due to his immaturity: “I let some people down like Triple H, who had a lot of faith in me and took me under his wing. Ric Flair would never say it, but he loved me like I was his kid and he was like a dad to me on the road. I’m sure I let him down somewhere along the way. These guys really invested a lot of time, faith and energy in me. The company invested money in me.”...More?
