Rumor Mill - Backstage Heat on Melina and John Morrison
There is backstage heat on both John Morrison and Melina, reports Pro Wrestling Torch. It centers around the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII, which saw Morrison repeatedly brush partner Trish Stratus off.
During their post-match celebration, Stratus hugged Snooki and went to hug Morrison, but he had already turned his back on her. Morrison then led Snooki to the corner of the ring and used the Jersey Shore star as a shield, to guard himself from Stratus.
The backstory behind Morrison’s awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina’s spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was rude to her.
Behind the scenes, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their match at WrestleMania XXVII, and was said to be very difficult to work with. His outright refusal to comply with any of her suggestions reportedly hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread amongst the locker room, garnering heat.
Many feel Morrison’s unprofessional behavior will set back his standing in WWE since Stratus is highly regarded amongst company personnel.

John Cena Is One Angry Bird in WWE Superstar Slingshot
Angry Birds is a huge hit and Rovio has spun off a series of sequels. And then, you’ve got the knockoffs like Angry Turds. Well, there doesn’t much more turd-slinging than in the square circle of professional wrestling, so we somehow find ourselves looking at WWE Superstar Slingshot for the iPhone.
The app, as you can imagine, is pretty much Angry Birds, except the birds and pigs have been replaced with guys in tights. Developer Genera Interactive have included ten superstars from the WWE to feature in the game: Big Show, Edge, John Cena, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Triple H and Undertaker.
There are 15 levels and 135 matches in all, including several that are named after popular WWE properties and pay-per-views. You can go to the Royal Rumble, for example, or participate in the Hell in a Cell. At least, that’s supposed to be the appeal.
But really, it’s Angry Birds with sweaty guys. Pick it up in the App Store for $1.99 if you really can’t wait for yet another Rovio stage pack.

World Wrestling Entertainment to Get a Makeover
The entertainment company has shortened its name to WWE and has plans to expand through acquisitions, create its own cable channel and sell its production expertise.
Vince McMahon is taking the wrestling out of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.
No, this isn't an outrageous plot the colorful impresario has cooked up for his wrestlers to act out in front of thousands of screaming fans. McMahon, the chairman and chief executive of WWE, wants to give the company a makeover, starting with the name. From now on WWE will no longer stand for World Wrestling Entertainment. It will just be WWE, plain and simple.
"I think every brand has to re-create itself," he said. "I want everyone to look at us in a vastly different way than they have."
To do that, McMahon plans to go on a spending spree to acquire media assets that could expand WWE's business beyond the ring. In particular, he said, WWE is targeting companies involved in production, live entertainment and branding.
"It is a logical broadening of what we already do," McMahon said in an interview.
Besides hunting for acquisitions, WWE is moving ahead with long-talked-about plans to create its own cable network for its vast library of wrestling fare. The company has been meeting with distributors including Verizon and hopes to get a channel launched in 2012.
McMahon also wants to start marketing WWE's expertise in producing live events.
"No one does television production better than we do, it's damn near the Olympics," McMahon said in his customary rasp after an afternoon rehearsing for a taping of one of WWE's shows. "We know more about live event touring than anyone in the United States."...More?
