SmackDown Results: Sore Loser

Just days after defeating CM Punk to win the World Title, Jeff Hardy put his gold on the line against fiery young Superstar John Morrison. In his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship match, Morrison put Hardy to the test in an epic back-and-forth battle for gold. But the high-flyer prevailed, crushing The Friday Night Delight with a Twist of Fate followed up with a Swanton Bomb.

As Hardy basked in the glow of his first successful title defense, CM Punk came to the ring to apparently congratulate Hardy by raising his arm in victory. But then, in an ugly display of poor sportsmanship, The Straightedge Superstar viciously assaulted Hardy amidst a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. The crazed ex-champion reigned down blow upon blow on Hardy, leaving him battered and beaten on the arena floor. Then, just when it appeared Punk was done, he attacked Hardy again, tossing his helpless body across the announce table and onto the arena floor. Full results.

TNA Releases Longtime Creative Team Member and Road Agent

It has been confirmed that TNA Wrestling cut tenured creative team member Dutch Mantel and road agent Savio Vega this past week.

The releases are said to be no coincidence as Mantel and Vega were both considered allies of Jeff Jarrett. While nothing official has been announced regarding Jarrett's role with TNA, many feel he would be stripped of all power if he were brought back.

TNA iMPACT! 200th Show Recap

WWE Superstars Results: Here Come the Voices

Only four days after pinning John Cena to retain his title and three days after finding out he’ll have to defend it against the former champion again at SummerSlam, The Legend Killer debuted on “WWE Superstars” and made an example of Primo. As he said prior to the match, Orton intended on dissecting the second-generation Superstar in the ring and did just that, leaving Cena with much to think about. It wasn’t a one-sided match by any means as Primo surprised The Viper with his quick offense, but once Orton had his sights set on the athletic, young Superstar, it was only a matter of time before he hit the RKO. Once The Legend Killer struck, he hooked Primo’s leg for the 1-2-3 and headed to the locker room knowing that if Cena was watching, then his message was delivered loud and clear. Full results.

J.R. Comments on the Upcoming DX Book

"Speaking of books, I did some writing work on an upcoming book about DX that really brought back some memories from years gone by and not all of them were pleasant ones. I am under the impression that this book will be released this fall but I could be wrong on that. DX were heat seeking missiles back in the day and rubbed many folks the wrong way. They were at the forefront of the 'Attitude Era' in WWE and it will likely never be duplicated. Some of the behind the scenes stories regarding the fall out over many of the actions and antics of the DX faction should make for an provocative and fun read."

Interview with Sharmell Huffman

During and interview with Monday Night Mayhem Radio, Sharmell comments on the criticism of her Victory Road match with Jenna Morasca:

"Actually that's my first time hearing it, because I hadn't heard any critique on that. We've been working every since Victory Road, so I hadn't heard any of the feedback of that, but if they think it was the 'worst match,' that's great. All publicity is good publicity, so at least they are still talking about me. Even though I didn't get the pin, I was obviously the most-experienced, the one who was able to handle herself the best in the ring, and got the better of Jenna throughout the match. So let them keep talking...any news is good news."

Mr. Anderson Taking Responsibility for
Mr. Kennedy's Demise

From Ken Anderson's blog:

When "Mr. Kennedy" exploded on the scene in WWE, I was given the opportunity to do media interviews all over the world which can be EXTREMELY intoxicating. You're living out your dream, making serious money, finally achieving all your goals, and you're getting the chance to build on the already-intense fame by talking to the media.

"No comment" or "I do not recall" should have been in my vocabulary(Hey, it worked for Ollie North, right?) I admit that I just wasn't media savvy enough at the time to deal with all that comes with the responsibility of talking to the press. I said some very sophomoric things and that mistake was mine and mine alone, and I have learned from it.
That mistake set in motion a chain of events that allowed my detractors, both inside the company and outside, to jump all over me. I left myself open.

Vince McMahon didn't screw "Mr. Kennedy." WWE didn't screw "Mr. Kennedy." Ken Anderson screwed "Mr. Kennedy."

I promise you, it WON'T happen again.

Celebrity Guest Hosts in WWE

One fan's look at the WWE variety show called Raw:

WWE head honcho Vince McMahon has implemented numerous concepts over the years to garner rating for his programs, but none may be create more rating let you alone media buzz, then introducing celebrity guest hosts to run his flagship show Monday Night RAW.

This gimmick, according to sources, will yet to conclude, as McMahon received numerous phone calls from celebrities who want to serve as the boss of Monday Night Raw.

Who knows how long this storyline will continue, but being a fan of pro wrestling that I am, I can't wait for the upcoming weeks of RAW. The only thing I am concerned about, is that each host except for Shaq, Batista and Dibiase were promoting their upcoming shows, tours, or movies, I hope this gimmick doesn't turn the show that I've watched since it's inception back in 1994 into a Late Night Talk Show...More?

Shaq Denied Entrance to White House

So last week on The Mike Wise Show, Shaquille O'Neal posed one of the timeless questions of our era: If I show up, unannounced, at the White House, could I get in?

Turns out this was no idle speculation. It was an actual bet, between Shaq and one of his handlers, with the loser owing the winner 1,000 push-ups. Even as bloggers were wondering which celebrities might have the clout to manage that feat, Shaq laid out the guidelines Monday night at Verizon Center, while prepping for his turn as guest host of WWE's RAW.

"The rule was I couldn't use any of my political connections," he explained. "Couldn't show a badge. I couldn't call anybody, because I've got a couple of best friends that work for the Secret Service. So that was the rule. They took my phone away, I jumped in a cab, went up there, and the guy wouldn't let me in."

Just a straight-up no, then?

"I went to the gate," he said. "They were nice. They said, 'Shaq, we can't do it.' I said, 'I understand.' Understood."...More?

TNA Praised at Comic Con

From deadlinehollywooddaily.com:

The highlight of the night, though, was a TNA wrestling match between the Motor City Machine Guns – two Detroit high-flyers in Hot Topic-esque shorts – against “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and Suicide, the latter a favorite of my 7 year-old brother because he wears a full-body black and red suit with a skull mask. Wowing the crowd with fancy double-team moves, and occasionally spilling out into the audience, the match was a hit all around. The MCMGs picked up the win, with all four men slightly breaking character and raising each other’s hands at the end.

WWE Championship Match - Dancing With the Stars

The WWE Championship, the equivalent to the World Series title in the WWE, will be defended when Randy Orton, Triple H, and John Cena battle in a Triple Threat Match. This match can be compared to Dancing with the Stars when it is down to the final three couples. Each one is looking to outshine the other and they can't concentrate on just one of their competitors, because another one is lurking in the shadows. Much like it doesn't matter who had the highest points walking in during that Dancing round, it doesn't matter too much that Randy Orton is champion walking in, because he personally does not have to be pinned to lose his belt. Coincidentally, outside WWE, this match is sometimes referred to as a Three Way Dance. I don't believe Tom Bergeron will be at the Wachovia Center, though...More?

Kaliqo's Night of Champions Predictions, Picks & Speculations

United States Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show vs. MVP vs. Carlito vs. Jack Swagger vs. The Miz
Of this group, I think Kofi, MVP and The Miz have come a long way. I'm tired of Carlito's on-again-off-again attitude. I think they should leave the belt on Kofi or put it on The Miz.

WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
This combo is tired. I love Hunter but unless there is a run-in/swerve during this match, I don't think it will be that special.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
The best thing that happened to Punk was his heel turn. I'm looking forward to this one, and if the rumors are true, it might be that last time we see Jeff for a awhile.

Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler is starting to grow on me. He reminds me of Mr. Wonderful, Paul Orndorf.

Women's Champion Michelle McCool vs. Melina
I like Michelle's "I'm too good" attitude, but this match-up is boring.

Divas Champion Maryse vs. Mickie James
Time for the heel to chase the face. Put the belt on Mickie.

The WWE really needs to improve the Diva wrestling scene if they want anyone to care. Where is Beth Phoenix? Where is Gail Kim? There are women that fit the "WWE ideal look" that can also wrestle.

Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho & A Mystery Partner vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase
This will probably be the match of the night. There has been a lot of speculation about Jericho's mystery partner. Some say that the image on wwe.com of the mystery partner is the outline of Ted DiBiase and that he will make a switch during the match. Some say Chris Masters will make an appearance. I'm hoping for the latter. Masters returning with Jericho would be new and different. Something the WWE is lacking.

SmackDown Results: Preparing for Battle

In the night’s main event, it was a champion vs. champion war that ended in mayhem. After Mysterio thwarted the Go to Sleep from Punk, he hit the 619 on the heavyweight champion and went for the pinfall. But as the ref pounded out the three-count, Dolph Ziggler stormed into the ring at the last moment and attacked Mysterio. Ziggler’s interference resulted in an immediate disqualification for CM Punk. But the action was far from over.

Mysterio battled back and had Ziggler set up for the 619, but The Straightedge Superstar stopped Mysterio in his tracks. Next, Ziggler launched a vicious assault on Mysterio. Then, before things could go from bad to even worse for Mysterio, Jeff Hardy came to Mysterio’s aid, driving Ziggler out of the ring. But it was Punk who got the final word in when he rushed in and dropped Hardy with the Go to Sleep. Full results.

The Affliction: Trilogy pay-per-view event has been cancelled due to the steroid test failure of heavyweight Josh Barnett that left the company without a main event and opponent for Fedor. Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio made the following comments on the Trilogy situation:

"Finding an opponent for the No. 1 ranked MMA heavyweight champion in such a short period of time was a huge endeavor, and I'm thrilled at the amount of fighters willing to take on this challenge. But in the end, we just didn't have enough time to promote a new fight to our standards. Affliction is deeply disappointed that the undercard is also canceled through no fault of its own," the release stated. TNA iMPACT! Recap 07/23

A Look Back at The Brawl to End it All

The Brawl To End It All - a battle between WWF Women's champion The Fabulous Moolah and Wendi Richter. The event, broadcast live on MTV, marked the beginning of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection that would catapult Hulk Hogan into an uncharted stratosphere of fame for a professional wrestler. The woman at the center of the hoopla, the event's most important participant, wasn't even participating in the match. Pop star Cyndi Lauper, a newcomer on the road to winning the next year's Grammy for Best new Artist, was in the corner of the challenger, cheering her on to defeat a champion who had held onto her belt for nearly 30 years.

With Lauper managing Richter and Albano managing the legendary Moolah, the match was high on spectacle but low on real wrestling, especially by today's standards. After pushing Richter into the corner face first, Moolah planted Richter's shoulders to the mat with a reverse sunset flip. Unbeknownst to Moolah, whose shoulders were pinned to the mat, Richter lifted her right shoulder up before the three count. Only when the ring announcer proclaimed that Richter had won the match did people realize that history had been made...More?

Claudio Castagnoli Speaks Out on the Sharmell vs. Jenna Morasca Debacle

"...Why am I writing all this? Well after reading so much about it I had to see it myself. Some of my students at the CHIKARA wrestle factory warned me and told me I shouldn't, but I watched it anyway. And I’ll never get those 8 minutes of my life back. I never once thought there would be a problem."

Another Preview of Triple H on 'Robot Chicken'

Triple H After Raw 07/20

Fan report:

After the cameras went off, Legacy challenges Triple H and John Cena to a rematch. They get back in the ring, Cena and Hunter are ready, and Rhodes/Dibiase go back out of the ring without Orton knowing it. The place is going nuts now, and Orton looks really uncomfortable. He gets an Attitude Adjustment and a Pedigree in short order and rolls out the ring. Cena shakes hands and raises Triple H's arm, then heads out to the ramp, and throws his wrist bands to kids in the crowd.

Hunter then gets out of the ring, and helps Randy up, patting him on the shoulder, helps him back into the ring, and then Pedigrees him again. The place erupts with approval.

And now, despite his politicking, and his "spot" in the company, etc, etc, let me declare here and now that Triple H is a true class act, as he took time to walk all the way around the barricade, slapping hands and hugging kids. There was one kid by the corner of the ramp who was absolutely petrified for some reason, and Hunter came over and talked to him, asked him if he enjoyed the show, and then hugged him. It's awesome to see him recognize the fans who help support him.

Sharmell vs. Jenna Morasca - Worst Match of the Year?

Jason Powell of prowrestling.net wrote this review of the Sharmell vs. Jenna Morasca match at TNA Victory Road:

"The worst wrestling match of the year. Jenna looked like a young Peggy Bundy and never should have appeared in the ring to begin with. I don't blame her, though. She's just collecting a paycheck and doing what they ask of her. I blame TNA for not recognizing that pro wrestling fans don't give a damn about Jenna Morasca. They've had months to figure out that their fans don't care. Rather than pull the plug, they put her in a horrible match that had one of the most idiotic finishes in history."

Triple H - "I don't care who wins as long as it isn't Orton"?

From The Sun:

Then, bizarrely, Triple H claimed that he didn't want to win the WWE title, he simply wanted Orton to lose it. He would retract this later on in a backstage chat with Cena, but it was still a puzzling statement.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this was strange. Triple H has always said the championship is what he cherishes most. It is that basis of his character. It was good that they had him sort of clarify it, but I was still surprised to hear him say that.

WWE Responds to Joe Hamilton/DSW Lawsuit

WWE filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought against them in April 2009 by Jody Hamilton and his promotion Deep South Wrestling in the State of Georgia who claimed WWE breached their contract with DSW as a former developmental territory reports PWInsider. In their motion WWE claims Hamilton and DSW "failed to state a claim upon which relief may be granted" and that Hamilton's lawsuit was "a misguided attempt to use litigation to lash out against WWE over disappointment with WWE's decision to terminate the parties' business relationship."

Evan Bourne SyFy Commercial and Injury Update

Evan Bourne posted a message on his WWE Universe blog stating that he was kept off last night's Raw to continue healing his sore neck. The injury was originally sustained last week in his match against the Big Show.

Bourne injured his neck after the Big Show speared him hard into the mat during their singles match. Bourne purposely landed on his neck to sell the move, which turned out to be a bad idea. "I've recovered quite a bit and I should be back to 100 percent soon," Bourne said. "My neck is fine, but I was certainly hurting for a few days."

SmackDown Results: Getting Burned in the Miami Heat

The animosity between the polar opposite Night of Champion opponents, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, reached a new level of intensity. Hardy insisted he will become the next World Heavyweight Champion while Punk says that his pay-per-view opponent is a consummate screw-up who will never beat him. After listening to one insult too many, Hardy abruptly ended the confrontation, knocking the World Champion to the canvas.

Later, in the culmination of a spectacular tag team main event, Jeff Hardy threw Jericho in The Straightedge Champion’s direction as he was sitting at the broadcast table. Punk then tossed Jericho into Hardy, knocking his Night of Champions challenger into the unforgiving steel steps disqualifying he and Rey Mysterio in the process. After the match, the smiling United Tag Team Champion hooked in the Walls of Jericho to the war-torn Charismatic No. 1 Contender while Punk looked on indifferently from outside the ring. Just beyond a Best Western in Wilmington, N.C., a red brick building sits to the left of seven orange barrels, loose gravel and a sign alerting visitors that the road ahead is not fit for use.

That building, the Coastline Convention Center, used to host wrestling shows. Seven years ago, Mark “Carnage” Perez was carried away from that brick building on a stretcher. In a summer 2002 match, Perez suffered a cut in the middle of his forehead, courtesy of Abdullah the Butcher’s hand and a fork.

During the heydays of "The Monday Night Wars" between the WWE & WCW, Degeneration-X took Michael's infamous saying, and gave it their own spin ("Let's get ready to suck it!"). Since then, have debated if there was actually legit heat between the two. Buffer indeed put any fears or rumors of ill-will between him & DX to rest:

"No, actually we call that a bastardization of the trademark. I thought it as pretty funny. It was pretty creative, and it kind of emphasized the competition that was going on between the two outfits. In a round-about way, it was almost flattering that they would take a hold of that, use as part of the competition, & make a sarcastic remark about their competitors. But I thought it was great, I loved it."...More?

Cheat food: “I‘m like most guys: I like to cheat with burgers and pizza. I‘ll cheat with sushi, too, but it‘s a pretty clean cheat.”

His daughter being backstage at live events: “She sees people backstage with giant outfits, but everyone‘s a giant here. She‘s used to it.”

Aging: “When I got to my mid-30s, everything stopped working. When I was younger, I could basically not eat junk for a couple of days and my abs would pop back in...not anymore.”

Planning ahead: “If you know you have to eat in two hours but you‘re on the road, don‘t wait the two hours and then try to figure out what you‘re going to have. Be prepared.”

Doing more movies: “It‘s difficult timing-wise to make everything work out. I have three scripts right now. I don‘t know if any of them are good, but I‘d have to really like it to take time away from wrestling.”

ECW Results: Monumental Mauling

He may not be the No. 1 contender to the ECW Championship, but Vladimir Kozlov has proven he’s a force to be reckoned with and isn’t backing down from any Extreme Superstar. The Moscow Mauler defeated ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer on Tuesday’s ECW on Syfy with a vicious Iron Curtain.

After the main event, as Kozlov continued his assault on Dreamer, an angry Christian stormed into the ring to attack Kozlov. Captain Charisma sought retribution for Kozlov’s distraction earlier in the night during his match against Shelton Benjamin. But Christian’s attack accidentally knocked down Dreamer, and Kozlov – still fuming because he lost No. 1 contendership the week before to Christian – turned his focus on Captain Charisma. The Sambo master leveled Christian, leaving the Night of Champions opponents helpless in the ring as Kozlov exited with a menacing smile on his face. Full results.

WWE is the Biggest Winner from UFC 100

At the end of the day, the biggest winner from UFC 100 was the WWE. That's right. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was a bigger winner than Dan Henderson, Dana White, and even Brock Lesnar.

I'm sure many of you are asking how is the WWE the biggest winner? I'm also sure that others are asking what is Rick smoking?

Brock Lesnar's post-fight promo was like watching an old WWE promo from his pro-wrestling career. It's safe to say that every 9 out of 10 MMA fans feel that Lesnar was wrong and that he should go back to pro-wrestling. In fact, the anti-Brock fans hate Brock mostly because he was a pro-wrestler.

The mainstream media has covered Brock's antics to the max. Many articles refer to Brock's behavior as immature yet WWE like. Do you see where I'm going here? Because of Brock, the WWE has received a ton of mainstream attention and publicity for FREE. Vince McMahon couldn't have asked for a better outcome. The national media is writing about his company and he didn't have to do, say, or pay anything...More?

Brock Lesnar: Remember the Ad Dollars

ROH on HDNet Results 07/11/09

Lesnar Loves Being UFC's Biggest Villain

Tens of millions of viewers worldwide saw Lesnar take a page from a pro wrestling script with his crude post-fight antics. Somewhere, WWE owner Vince McMahon would be smiling at the spectacle — except the monster he created is making money for someone else.

Lesnar's technique was crude and rudimentary — understandable for someone with only five MMA fights — but the blows he threw left Mir's face battered and bloodied.

And then the fun began. Lesnar — who refused to tap gloves with Mir in a show of sportsmanship beforehand — talked trash to him afterward. Lesnar celebrated by looking maniacally into a television camera through the octagon fence and shouting as drool spewed onto the steel mesh.

He flipped off the crowd. He solicited more boos with his hands and barked, "I love it! Keep it going!" during a post-fight interview. He then committed the ultimate sin — insulting UFC's top sponsor. Lesnar said he was going to celebrate by drinking Coors Light since "Bud Light won't pay me nothing."

"Hell, I may even get on top of my wife tonight," Lesnar said as his spouse (former WWE valet Rena "Sable" Mero) laughed. "See y'all later."

Anyone not heading toward the exits was incensed or appalled. No fighter in UFC history — not even self-proclaimed "Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz — left an event so universally despised.

Just like in rasslin', Lesnar's actions are shtick. After what he described as a backstage "whip-the-dog" lambasting from UFC president Dana White, Lesnar apologized during a post-fight news conference. Lesnar said he got carried away because he wanted to avenge a prior loss to Mir. Lesnar even chugged a Bud Light. But those who don't pay attention to the UFC 100 post-media coverage will never see this softer side.

"I'm used to selling pay-per-view and tickets," a subdued Lesnar said. "I come from a business that's purely entertainment."

As much as he doesn't want to admit it, so does White...More?

Kurt Angle Sees Things Clearly Now

Kurt Angle changes his mind about Vince McMahon and the WWE in a recent interview with filmsreview.com:

"I had some bad feelings because of the way I left WWE. When I thought about it, and my behavior, I then realized Vince McMahon really wasn’t at fault, it was really me. I have always extended my hand out to Vince, and told him that I was wrong, I am sorry."

Angle clarified that he is not sorry he joined TNA, but sorry that he ripped Vince McMahon so heavily after leaving the company. Angle says he's made amends with McMahon and they have a better relationship.

"I know that he is happy for me. I am living much healthier now. I love Vince. I always will. It was time for me to leave and I think Vince knew or he would have never released me," Angle said. "He had enough courage to take that initial step and release me. When he did, I respected him more."

Angle says he doesn't regret leaving for TNA, but he misses working for McMahon in WWE "sometimes."...More?

Bonnie Hammer’s Hit Factory - Inside the USA Network's Winning Streak

Bonnie Hammer, a 33-year veteran of the television industry, knows about pressure. Since she took over in 2004, USA has produced a string of hits. Among other assignments, she inherited oversight of World Wrestling Entertainment, a pillar of USA's programming. Televised wrestling dates back to the earliest days of the medium in the late 1940s, and USA's Monday Night Raw, with its mix of scripted faux drama, acrobatic athleticism, and over-the-top shtik, is the longest-running prime-time cable program in history. Unlike the network's boss at the time, Hammer fashioned a warm working relationship with WWE owner Vince McMahon. She also approached the wrestling franchise like any other show, offering notes on how to improve plotlines and story arcs. Hammer even persuaded McMahon to hire soap-opera and comedy writers, and used cross-promotion by casting wrestlers in USA shows. She arbitrated some of WWE's less tasteful tendencies: for one live episode, in which one wrestler used a machete to attempt to castrate an opponent, Hammer stayed on the phone with the cameraman while watching from home, instructing him on precisely when to pull the camera away. WWE's ratings, already high, soared further, helping push USA toward the top of the cable rankings...More?

WWE Superstars Results: Coming Up Short

While Ricky Ortiz has spent his time offering up motivational speeches in the backstage area to anyone who will listen, R-Truth has been chalking up impressive victories in the SmackDown ring. This hot streak gave Truth the confidence and savvy he needed to pull out a victory over Mr. O despite a size disadvantage. Perhaps this loss will teach Ricky O. to focus more on his ring game instead of his wordplay.

After being defeated by Zack Ryder on last Thursday’s “WWE Superstars,” ECW newcomer Tyler Reks was looking for retribution. Unfortunately, the Southern California surfer was unable to overcome Ryder in their rematch. The Long Island native has been on a white hot streak and has quickly become a Superstar to watch. Dave has been working with Trip since well before his World Wrestling Championship victory over Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. And, the work is paying off! As you marvel at the incredible size and condition of the WWE superstar, remember that he is subject to perhaps the most stringent drug testing program in the country. Trip has been following Dave's high protein, low carb, moderate fat, ketogenic diet for over a year now and he's always in killer shape.

Triple H defeated WWE champion Randy Orton by DQ after Legacy interference. This was my fourth WWE live event and in my opinion Triple H got probably the loudest pop I've ever heard which didn't surprise me at all. Orton as well got a huge heel response. Pretty slow match. The ending was good with both men hitting their finishers then Legacy attacked Hunter to get the DQ. Big Show came out for the save and ended with Cody Rhodes getting the Pedigree to send everyone home happy. Triple H and Show then got each side of the arena to see who could cheer the loudest, place was deafening.

Mark of the Faithful

"I was at an autograph signing,” Mysterio explained with a smile. “A little girl gave me a collage that she made of me with a prayer on it. She said it was a prayer that she says for me every night.”

“I wanted a new tattoo but couldn't decide what to get. I read that little girl's prayer every day and suddenly it hit me. That prayer is definitely the tattoo I want."

The tattoo, translated into English, reads, “Jesus Christ, you accompany me every day. I ask you to bless me and protect me every time I land on the mat because my life is always on the line. Never leave me alone. Protect me and be with me always. Amen.”

In a profession where ink can symbolize all that is special to a Superstar, the high-flying Mysterio has taken a leap of faith. And his tremendous new tattoo will always serve as a testament, both to his immense faith and his unwavering belief in the WWE Universe.

Interview with Hulk Hogan

On watching TNA and WWE:

"I watch both products. (TNA's) like the little engine that could. Everybody thought they wouldn't be around for long, and they've been chugging along for seven years. They gain momentum every week. They seem to be real fresh. When a lot of guys go over to that side of the fence, they seem to get a spring in their step. I also watch Vince's product (WWE). Vince is the constant. He's the standard of excellence. I just love watching his show because you never know what he is going to do. Plus, the production -- you can't even touch his production. It's so dialed-in. It's amazing just to see how they put the pieces together."...More?

Main event match: WWE Championship - Randy Orton (c) vs Triple H
Massive heat for Orton, incredible pop for HHH. In a very solid match spanning over ten minutes, the end seems likely as Orton hit the RKO. HHH kicked out and about a minute later, hit the Pedigree. Just as the match seemed over, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. ran down to attack Trips and cause the DQ. Winner via DQ: Triple H
but still WWE Champion: Randy Orton HHH was being attacked by the Legacy until Carlito and Primo ran down to make the save. DiBiase Jr. and Orton ran up the ramp as Cody got Pedigreed twice by Trips. Carlito, Primo and HHH had some fun with the crowd as the show came to an end.

WWE Confirms Edge's Injury

Unified Tag Team Champion, Edge suffered a tear to his Achilles tendon last Friday, July 3, during a WWE live event in San Diego. Edge's opponent was the man with whom he has traded the WWE Championship, Jeff Hardy.

Almost immediately after the bout started, Edge was in his corner when Hardy charged toward him. After attempting to leapfrog Hardy, Edge crumbled to the canvas. Hardy was backed off by the referee, who checked repeatedly with Edge before summoning WWE doctors and athletic trainers and instructing ring announcer Justin Roberts that because Edge could not continue, Jeff Hardy was the winner of the match via forfeit. WWE referees, athletic trainers and doctors then helped Edge to the back as he could bear no weight on his left ankle.

WWE.com will also investigate how this injury will affect the status of the Unified Tag Team Titles, as well as Edge & Chris Jericho's scheduled match with Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase at Night of Champions...More?

J.R. Comments on the Raw House Shows in Australia

Sydney, Australia

The WWE is doing HUGE biz in Australia as we speak as the Raw brand is on tour "Down Under." Brisbane had a near capacity crowd in attendance and grossed over $650K at the box office. Sydney had 18,543 in the arena which is a new WWE record for the facility. The event Monday in Adelaide was also close to capacity and sold over $550K in tickets. This international tour is going to be highly successful for WWE which should come as no surprise as Australia is one of WWE's hottest territories. Even though the trips are all early morning flights and some of the flights are not short ones, the large crowds always motivate any performer and the live events have been really solid from what I have read and from the emails we have received here on our site.

Triple H defeated Randy Orton via DQ (Orton Retains WWE Championship)

Randy Orton comes out to the biggest heat of the night, while HHH comes out to a deafening pop. H laps it up and spends a few minutes soaking in the reaction. Fantastic main event, back and forth battle that seemed to be much more entertaining than there last few singles bouts. Legacy interfere which cause’s the DQ. Beatdown begins until Carlito & Primo come out to make the save, DiBiase & Orton run out leaving Cody to a backstabber & a pedigree.

Fantastic show overall really got the crowd involved and the crowd was hot all night.

Jimmy Snuka's Body Slam University

Not long ago, Kimberly Whitehead forsook Florida Atlantic University for Jimmy Snuka's Body Slam University, where office managers, security guards and an occupational therapist get an education in the art of professional wrestling, including how not to kick your partner in the jaw when she's not expecting it.

Each month, students shell out $100 apiece to learn the figure-four leglock, how to smash someone's face into a turnbuckle without gouging their eyes, and how to whack an opponent over the head with a folding chair without sending him or her to the hospital.

Against near impossible odds, they dream of securing a toehold in the lucrative world of professional wrestling -- much like the once-chiseled ''Superfly'' Snuka, a World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer from Fiji who has family in Davie and co-owns the enterprise...More?
