Stephanie McMahon: WWE’s Full Time Bad Ass

Do you ever wonder how the WWE’s Stephanie McMahon has managed to maintain a body that would rival an IFBB bikini pro or even one of her own pro wrestling Divas? Seeing Triple: The WWE's Superstar Triple H

The name Triple-H is synonymous with sports entertainment. On top of being one of the most memorable talents in the history of the WWE—especially its much-loved Attitude Era—Triple-H has continued to guide the company as an executive, providing creative and strategic oversight. Much of the future of the WWE, and sports entertainment as a whole, rides on Triple-H’s broad shoulders, though fans still probably love him best for his in-ring talent, still on display at least once a year at WrestleMania. After falling to the Undertaker at back-to-back Manias, this year Triple-H will take on one of the most feared men in the WWE, Brock Lesnar, in a no-holds barred match with a grave stipulation: If Brock wins, Triple-H must retire! WrestleMania 29 airs live on Sunday, April 7, at 7 pm EST. Order it here: http://ppv.wwe.com/

The following story appeared in the September 2009 edition of Muscle & Fitness and appears here as part of the muscleandfitness.com celebration of WrestleMania week. Click here.

Triple H’s 6 Rules of Success

This was written by Jim Smith, owner of Diesel Strength & Conditioning:

I met Triple H – Paul Levesque – last Sunday while he was training at DeFranco’s gym. He was getting ready to wrestle Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 29 and came in for the day to get a workout in with big Joe D.

As many of you know, Joe DeFranco has been training Paul for the past 3 years and has credited Joe with helping him get stronger, become more athletic, and move pain-free.

While Paul has had an unbelievable career over the years in the WWE, he has also been in the movies and inspired millions in the fitness industry with his countless fitness magazine covers and articles detailing his intense training routines.

Yes, all of his successes are impressive, but it is what I learned about him and from him during our brief conversations during that training session that really inspired me.

Here are the top 6 things I learned from Triple H.

Changing The Game - PART 2: Triple H Peaks for Wrestlemania!

Click here for a peak at Triple H's training schedule. His trainer, Joe DeFranco comments on Triple H's consistency and dedication:

I may be the guy that designs Triple H's workouts, but a good workout "on paper" doesn't mean sh*t unless the person performing the workout believes in it and consistently gives it 100%! I can tell you first-hand that you won't find a more dedicated person than Triple H. It would be very easy for a guy like him to make excuses, miss workouts, cheat on his diet, etc. But, instead of finding excuses, he finds a way to get the job done! Most people would be shocked to hear that we train at 10:00pm until midnight most of the time...they also aren't aware of the painful injuries that Triple H has sustained during his legendary career...and I'm sure they have no clue that Triple H only gets 1-2 hours of sleep most nights when traveling. For example, here's an 'inside look' at Triple H's Wednesday schedule: Arrive home from filming SMACKDOWN around 4:00am >> Take a "nap" for about an hour (if he's lucky) >> Wake up around 6:00am in order to spend time with his kids before he leaves for work >> Head to the office early so he can get his first workout in >> Work a minimum of an 8-10 hour day at the office >> Rush home to put his kids to bed >> Perform a max-effort upper body lifting session while the rest of the world is sleeping. Please remember Triple H's schedule next time you convince yourself that you "don't have enough time" to workout and get in shape. I can go on and on about Triple H's "less-than-optimal" schedule and injury history, but my point is this: Instead of complaining, Triple H adapts and perseveres through adversity -- always finding a way to get the job done! THAT'S why he's successful, and THAT'S a major reason why this program produced the results it did.

Changing 'THE GAME' - Triple H's New Training Regimen

During the past 2 years, Triple H has added 125 pounds to his bench press, 220 pounds to his box squat, 22 inches to his box jump...and he's become healthier and more athletic during the process. Learn how he did it in this exclusive, 2-Part article series!

Two years ago, I was training a group of NFL & college football players when I received a message to call back a man by the name of Paul Levesque. "I couldn't really hear the message because it's so damn loud in here; but I think he's supposed to be a WWE wrestler or something", Ashley explained to me.

"Just put his number by my gym bag and I'll call him back if I have time tomorrow...I doubt the guy is actually in the WWE", I replied.

Then, one of my college athletes interrupted the conversation..."WAIT! What did you say his name was?! Did you say Paul Levesque? If so, that's Triple H! Go call him back right now! We can finish the workout on our own!"

The rest, as they say, is history...More?

The Definitive History of the WBF

As the final moments of the annual Mr. Olympia competition played out, there was nothing particularly memorable about the scene. What was going on in the lobby of the Arie Crown Theatre in those final few minutes was anything but however. A carefully calculated all-out ambush was about to occur. The man behind it was Vince McMahon, and the intentions were hostile.

Spectators sat restless in the Arie Crown Theatre while sponsors gave their pitches as the 1990 Mr. Olympia was coming to an end. What everyone was confronted with next was a total shock, even to Joe Weider and the competing athletes themselves. Vince McMahon spent $5,000 to secure a promotional booth for Bodybuilding Lifestyles, his new bodybuilding magazine. Tom Platz, the magazine's spokesman, stepped to the stage to promote the publication in front of the 4,600 bodybuilding fans in attendance . Platz began to speak: "I have a very important announcement to make. We at Titan Sports are proud to announce the formation of the World Bodybuilding Federation. And we are going to kick the IFBB's ass!"...More?
