Raven & Buff Bagwell's Lawsuit Against WWE Dropped "With Prejudice"

According to a report from PWInsider.com, the lawsuit filed against WWE by Marcus "Buff" Bagwell and Scott "Raven" Levy has been completely dropped, and with prejudice.

Their claim was that WWE owed them royalties from the WWE Network the same way that they would get royalties from physical media, like DVDs.

The report from PWInsider.com also notes that at one point while the lawsuit was going on, WWE officials were actually thinking about completely removing all content featuring Raven and Bagwell, even though it would have been a long and tedious process for them to go through and edit all of the WWE, WCW, and ECW footage that Raven and Bagwell appear in.

This lawsuit reportedly stopped WWE from uploading more content to the Network that they wanted to add by now, including episodes of WWE Sunday Night Heat and WCW Thunder. Now that the lawsuit is finished, look for WWE to add more classic content in the near future.

Backstage News On Jim Johnston's WWE Release

Longtime WWE composer, Jim Johnston, was quietly released from the company this past week after his contract expired. The news was first reported by the @ThemeTitan_ Twitter account, as seen below. Johnston had worked for the company for over 32 years, and had composed legendary themes for The Undertaker, D-X, The Rock and many others.

While the release has yet to be officially announced by WWE, Dave Meltzer reported on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that people in the company saw it coming and weren't surprised by it. Johnston apparently wanted to stay with the company but had a very high contract, and WWE has been relying more on CFO$ to produce their themes since 2012.

Johnston's release was expected once his contract expired, which happened last week. Meltzer noted that "it's the end of an era, but the era kinda ended years ago."

Ford Files Lawsuit Against John Cena Over Sale Of Supercar

John Cena is on Ford's $#&% list for allegedly flipping his new $500k '17 Ford GT -- violating a contract with the company -- and they're takin' him to court.

According to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Michigan, Cena was "selected from thousands of applicants for the opportunity to purchase the Ford GT."

Ford says Cena signed a deal in which he agreed to hold onto the car for at least 2 years ... prior to unloading it.

However, Ford claims, soon after receiving the car, Cena flipped it for a big profit.

"Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale."

Ford is demanding that Cena hands over all the profit from the sale, as well as other damages.

According to the suit, for his part, Cena told the company he sold the car, along with other property, to pay bills.

Ric Flair Suing Former Manager Over "30 For 30" Money

Ric Flair claims he was supposed to pocket $25,000 for the ESPN "30 for 30"special on his life -- but his manager stole the money ... and now he's out for legal justice.

Nature Boy is suing Legacy Talent and Entertainment -- the management company he used from 2009 until October 2017.

Flair says he had a feeling something fishy was going down behind the scenes so he hired a lawyer to investigate his finances ... and realized he was missing huge amounts of cash.

Among the missing money ... Flair says he learned Legacy Talent had received $25,000 from First Row Films, the production company behind Flair's "30 for 30" special. Flair claims he was never informed of the payment nor was given his cut.

He also noticed a $12,000 royalty advance from Jake's Fireworks -- a company he signed an endorsement deal with earlier this year.

Flair says he reached out to Legacy to find out why he never got the money and was told they were using the funds to pay legal bills. Flair is calling BS, saying he never authorized Legacy to do that.

Flair says he's owed at least $46,000 -- and he wants his money back, asap.

David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson No Longer Together; Hudson Is Granted Protective Order Against Otunga

People Magazine is reporting that WWE Superstar David Otunga and Academy Award Winner Jennifer Hudson are no longer together. Otunga and Hudson had been together for nearly ten years, have a son together and were engaged.

Hudson has filed and been granted a protective order against Otunga for what her rep described as, “in the best interest of their son.”

Otunga’s attorney released the following statement to People:

David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now. However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child’s primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute.

As a result of Mr. Otunga’s career in the WWE, Ms. Hudson felt that she could give an award winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim.  Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him. Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child.

Daniel Bryan on Roman Reigns being WWE's next John Cena

WrestleMania 30 was the height of Daniel Bryan's career, as not only was he the most over superstar in the company, but it was in the main event of this show that he defeated Randy Orton and Batista to claim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Many thought this would be the start of Bryan becoming WWE's new John Cena and the top superstar in the company, as it was around this time as well that Cena started to do more feuds with upcoming superstars and more projects outside of the company.

However, WWE didn't go with The King of Beards in the end, as Vince McMahon wanted Roman Reigns to be the next face of the company instead despite fan's reaction to him.

Speaking recently on the E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, Bryan discussed how he felt when he was first told about WWE's plans to move with Reigns as the next John Cena.

Via StillRealToUs, The SmackDown Live general manager recalled his conversation with Vince McMahon, as the WWE Chairman said to him: “You know, we really want to push Roman to be the next John Cena.”

Bryan said in reply: “Boss, I one hundred percent support that, but I just want you to know that I want to be the next John Cena.”

Daniel Bryan revealed he's not the confrontational type that would say, 'I’m the man. I want you to push me,' but he did reiterate in his conversation with Vince that he would be pushing himself to be the next John Cena of the WWE no matter what.

Bryan said to Vince: “To be honest with you sir, that’s great that you want that for him. I want to be the next John Cena, and I’m going to push myself to be that person.”

Bryan retired from in-ring wrestling in February 2016 due to medical issues and was named as SmackDown Live's general manager not long after, but recently, he has been teasing a return to the ring, whether that's with or not with the WWE.

As for Reigns, WWE is still pushing him as their next face of the company, with him rumored to main event WrestleMania once more next year in New Orleans, which would be his fourth WrestleMania main event in a row.

Triple H Challenges Jinder Mahal To A Match In India

Shawn Michaels Talks to ESPN About Montreal Screwjob

WWE Hall of Famer "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels recently spoke to ESPN about the infamous "Montreal Screwjob" incident from Survivor Series 1997.

On knowing what he was about to do to Hart:

“[It was] probably the most uncomfortable day I’ve ever had in the wrestling business,” Michaels said of having to sit with Hart and plot out the match before the show began. “By the time the day comes, the decision has been made. But no one knows how it’s going to get done until Bret and I sit down to start discussing the match — none of this can actually go into play until we do that. And so it was just an uncomfortable day knowing what you know, [how others] assume it’s going to happen, and then you having to be the one to orchestrate it all.”

“It’s one thing to make the decision to do this. It’s a whole ‘nother thing to actually have to be the person to make it happen and not have any idea about how you’re going to go about doing that. And then, even if you are successful, it’s absolutely going to be the worst thing that could ever happen to you,” Michaels said. “From a professional standpoint, reputation standpoint, even though I wasn’t the most lovable guy back then, it was still just an absolute miserable day, [a] very uncomfortable day.”

On the potential consequences:

“You don’t go into something like that not understanding [the consequences],” Michaels said. “You may end up having to fight your way out of the building, or getting in a couple fights, or who knows. But one of the biggest things in the wrestling business is when you go out there with guys, you’re trusting one another with your bodies.

“With all the differences Bret and I had, they never made their way into the ring. And so — believe it or not — that, more than anything, was the thing. Even though you’re asked to do it, being obedient to your boss, it isn’t fun. Pain, or getting in a fight, or getting beat up, that stuff heals eventually.

“It would’ve been a lot easier, honestly, to be able to say, ‘Yeah, I knew and I did it,’ and face whatever happened,” Michaels said. “Because at least then, it’d be out in the open and whatever needed to happen would happen right there and then.”

On the aftermath and how it affects him today:

Quite honestly, it was the having to conceal it for all those years that was truthfully, the most uncomfortable for me, personally,” Michaels said. “And I think [that’s true] for everybody involved.

“I enjoyed darn near every day I was at work for 25 years doing that job, and that certainly was the worst day I can recall in the entire 25 years I was in the wrestling business,” Michaels said. “I probably aged more in that one day than I did in the [rest of that] 25 years. And again, you wonder, but nothing really prepares you for how big that moment is, or actually doing it.”

WWE sees 'massive opportunity' in China and India

Paul Michael Levesque — better known by his ring name Triple H — said WWE would look to stimulate the most growth in China and India over the coming months "What we need to do is create a talent pipeline, we need to do it globally and we need to do it now," Triple H said.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is setting its sights on the two most populous countries in the world to enhance an already "astronomical" growth rate, according to one of WWE's biggest players.

Speaking at the Web Summit technology conference in Lisbon, Portugal, on Tuesday, Paul Michael Levesque — better known by his ring name Triple H — said WWE would look to stimulate the most growth in China and India over the coming months.

The 14-time WWE champion stressed that while 70 percent of the WWE's viewership were internationally based, it currently accounted for just 30 percent of the franchise's overall revenue.

"What we need to do is create a talent pipeline, we need to do it globally and we need to do it now," Triple H said.

He described the opportunity in China as "massive," before adding that wrestling's popularity in India had soared to such an extent that it had become second only to the national sport of cricket.

Last year, the WWE launched a new tournament in London in order to try and find the next breed of British superstars. Triple H said Tuesday that it would continue to be this type of "localized content" that would help expand the WWE's global presence.

WWE May Be Exploring VR Features In The Near Future

VR is common in the video game industry, despite still being in its infancy. Professional wrestling company the WWE is now exploring the possibility of using VR to further connect with its large fanbase all around the world.

As reported by CNBC, Triple H talked about using VR during the Web Summit technology conference in Portugal earlier this week. WWE is looking to see how the technology improves in the future.

Triple H said that VR will be used in order for fans to see shows like WrestleMania virtually. If you don’t have enough money to fly all the way to America, you can experience it virtually instead. Potentially, you can watch shows from ringside to get the live event experience.

Whether or not VR will be used in future WWE video games remain to be seen. It will be interesting since we have never received a first-person wrestling game before!

Rumor Mill - Triple H makes incredible gesture to Kevin Owens after emergency

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H decided to give the money he received for performing in theWWE Live event in Santiago, Chile, to Kevin Owens, who flew home from the event due to personal reasons.

In case you didn't know...

Kevin Owens left the WWE's' South American tour early to be with his family and was pulled from the live events in Argentina and Chile. Also, AJ Styles, who was scheduled to appear in Chile was called back to wrestle Finn Balor at WWE TLC 2017.

In order to make amends, Triple H wrestled Rusev at the Live Event in Santiago, Chile.

The heart of the matter

As per the report, the shows in Santiago were paid for by a local promotion run by Hugo Savinovich, a former Spanish commentator for the WWE. The promotion had paid the WWE a sum of about $900,000 for the Live Events.

The organizers were unhappy as stars such as Kevin Owens and AJ Styles were forced to miss the live shows. To make things right, Triple H himself stepped in and wrestled the Rusev to a great reception from the crowd in Santiago.

Triple H then displayed incredible generosity as he gave the money that he received for his performance to Kevin Owens.

Big Name To Appear As Special Referee For Upcoming WWE NXT Title Match, Adam Cole Comments

WWE has announced Adam Cole vs. WWE NXTChampion Drew McIntyre for the November 17th non-televised live event from San Antonio, Texas. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be the special referee. This event takes place during Survivor Series weekend, just one night before the "Takeover: WarGames" event.

Below is the full announcement:

NXT Champion Drew McIntyre faces Adam Cole for the title in San Antonio on Nov. 17, with Shawn Michaels as special guest referee

Adam Cole and The Undisputed ERA have vowed to shock the system of NXT, and the unlawful collective will get a chance to do just that when Cole challenges NXT Champion Drew McIntyre for the title at NXT Live in San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 17.

Not only that, but San Antonio native son and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will serve as the match's special guest referee.

The newly confirmed NXT Title Match is slated for NXT's return to the Aztec Theatre, just one night before NXT TakeOver: WarGames comes to the Toyota Center in Houston.

Cole, who made his shocking NXT debut in August by ambushing McIntyre moments after he won the NXT Title, recently commented on his championship ambitions in an interview with WWE.com.

"As far as Drew, he's an impressive athlete," Cole said. "Drew had been chasing that NXT Championship, and he finally achieved his dream. I almost feel bad for the guy. I feel bad that after all that hard work, all the sacrifice, it's going to be taken away by me. And there's not a damn thing he can do about it."

WWE Responds To Dave Palumbo's Comments About Their Drug Policy

Last week, Dave Palumbo, who handles the nutrition and supplementation for Paul "Triple H" Levesque, made comments on an episode of Matt Riviera's podcast that the WWE's drug policy allows for use of Hormone Replacement therapy (shooting testosterone) as well as HCG and HGH.

The actual quote in question was, "They're allowed to take hormone replacement. They can go to an HRT place and get testosterone replacement, 100 mg a week, whatever they prescribe nowadays," said Palumbo, a former well-known competitive bodybuilder. "Those are acceptable. A lot of the wrestlers do it, and it's not for me to say whose using what, but they're very minimal doses."

Today, WWE responded to the comments that Palumbo made by saying that he was misinformed on the subject and the drug policy does not allow for use of those substances unless an endocrinologist and the WWE's medical staff approved of it for legitimate medical need.

WWE Writer Exits After Taking Photo With The Bullet Club During RAW 'Invasion

Acording to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Jimmy Jacobs is no longer working for WWE and made his exit last week. Apparently, there was heat on Jacobs because he took a photo with The Bullet Club during their "invasion" of Raw, late last month. It wasn't confirmed though if he was officially released from the company.

As noted, The Bullet Club appeared outside of the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario after doing a signing at a Hot Topic store in the area earlier that day. The "invasion" was filmed for theirBeing the Elite series on YouTube as a continuation of recent storylines they had been doing on the show.

Since then, The Young Bucks revealed that they received a "cease and desist" letter the next day from WWE, who claimed The Young Bucks were using their intellectual property, mainly the "Too Sweet" hand gesture. The letter threatened legal action for damages up to $150,000 per item, any profits made on the sale of those items and legal fees. WWE claims ownership of the hand gesture due to their purchase of WCW's intellectual property. The Bucks have removed all references to "Too Sweet" from T-shirts for sale on their YoungBucksMerch.com website and on their ProWrestlingTees.com store. They have since released a "cease and desist" T-shirt, which quickly became a top seller.

William Regal Speaks Candidly About His Substance Abuse Issues in 1990's

Current WWE NXT General Manager and former WWE Intercontinental, European, and Tag Team Champion and 2008 King of the Ring William Regal recently appeared on Sean "X-Pac" Waltman's 1-2-360 Podcast.
Regal spoke candidly about his issues with substance abuse back in the 1990's which resulted in him being let go from both WWE and WCW at various points:

“I didn’t drink until I was 25. I didn’t do anything, it was just not something that I did. I left home when I was 16 and I was in nightclubs every night after work. I lived in a resort area where, within a mile walk of my house there was fifty-two nightclubs and over three hundred bars, and I was in one of them every night. I never drank, I just liked going out. Until I came to America and I sort of started doing a bit of this and a bit of that. I started taking a lot of pain pills and everything else. I coped with it for a while, and then the last few months of ’97 and ’98 were a complete mess. Then I said ‘enough.’ I just had enough of it.

Triple H defends NFL national anthem protest

For the second consecutive Sunday NFL stars around the US and London demonstrated during the American national anthem by taking a knee to highlight racial injustice.

Wrestling legend Triple H appeared on Sky Sports and claimed that taking a knee would probably not be a problem in WWE as they respect people’s right to freedom of speech.

But the multi-time world champion, who holds high rank in the company that presents itself as patriotic, would prefer this to be done in a way that wouldn’t offend anyone.

“I speak for myself, personally only, and if it was me I would stand for my national anthem. For my country I would stand,” the King of Kings told Sky Sports.

“But I and WWE certainly respect the rights of everybody’s first amendment right of freedom of speech, their right to peacefully protest and do what is meaningful to them. Certainly we support that.

Colt Cabana Says Lawsuit From WWE Doctor Is Costing Him 'A Lot Of Money'

Colt Cabana already has a lot on his plate as a wrestler and sometimes-commentator for Ring Of Honor, but he's dealing with a bit of tumult outside the ring as well. Cabana is in the midst of a lawsuit from WWE ringside physician Christopher Amann for comments CM Punk made on his podcast, and he admitted it hasn't been easy on him.

In November of 2014, Punk was a guest on Cabana's The Art Of Wrestling podcast and said he was mistreated for a back injury and a concussion by Amann. Amann filed suit against Punk and Cabana, whose real name is Scott Colton, for the comments. Amann said Cabana had "affirmed and amplified" Punk's comments, according to the suit.

As a guest on the Live Audio Wrestling podcast, Cabana said the suit is still ongoing and he's not at liberty to discuss it.

"The update is that it's still going on, it's costing me a lot of money, and that's the extent that my lawyers will allow me to talk," Cabana said. "So nothing breaking here, but just do know that it's always on my mind, it's always a very sad thing. And I've talked to other podcasters... it's kind of changed the way that he's worked and realizing that this is a reality that you can host a show and get sued for it."

"It's always in the back of my mind now, which is a little upsetting," he continued. "But that's the way of the world, I guess."

Last month on SmackDown Live, Vince McMahon cut a promo on Kevin Owens where he belittled Owens for wanting to file a lawsuit against the WWE. Cabana admitted he did feel a little offended by the promo, but pointed out that he and Punk are the ones who are being sued.

"I watched it a couple days afterwards and a little bit of me wanted to make gifs and little videos of him saying something about lawsuits and that kind of stuff," Cabana said. "I mean, I don't know. Punk and I, we didn't do a lawsuit. We're getting sued. But it did hit a little home, and of course made me a little sad."

Shane McMahon Invested In Legal Marijuana Company

The New York Daily News wrote an article onShane McMahon investing $500,000 back in 2015 in a company called EnviroGrow that builds modules to assist in the growth of marijuana. The company sells their product only in states where the drug is legal for either medical or recreational use. The article also talked about Linda McMahon being include in the current administration's cabinet, and how Shane's investment is in contrast to the Attorney General Jeff Sessions' hard line stance against the drug.

News of this investment was revealed due to Shane filing a lawsuit last year to recoup his money. After making a visit to the company's production plant, he found it to be "nonexistent," and the owner of EnviroGrow refused to return Shane's investment.
